YOUTH PROGRAMS
 The following programs and special events are yearly recurring activities directly provided by or coordinated through the Recreation Department For children and youth under the age of eighteen, birth certificates must be presented at time of registration to insure proper and appropriate placement in our sports leagues. More detailed information about each sport and program can always be obtained by calling the Recreation Office at 440-735-6573

 

SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAM

The Bedford Playground’s Summer Recreational Program has been a fixture of Bedford for many years. This is a co-recreational program for boys and girls ages 5 to 12. The program will provide daily recreational activities for the children. Other facets of the program include arts-n-crafts, field trips, picnics and fun.

This program is for Bedford Residents Only. The program will run daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will be conducted for eight weeks at the Ellenwood Facility.

T-Shirts will be purchased by the Recreation Department for all children ages 5-12. These children will be required to wear these shirts everyday. If a child shows up without his/her t-shirt an additional shirt will be provided for the cost of $5.00. This fee must be paid the following day, if it is not, the child will be temporarily suspended from the program until the fee is paid.

Before Care from 7:00 – 9:00 am for $5.00 per day.  Aftercare is from 4:00 – 6:00 pm for $5.00 per day.

The cost for this program is $500.00 for the eight week program.

Children will NOT be permitted to leave the Ellenwood Center unless they are accompanied by their parent/guardian.

Children cannot leave the Ellenwood premises to go to the pool for free swim or scheduled morning swim lessons. If a child wishes to enroll in swim lessons they must register for the evening session. The following proof of residency is required for sign-up:

Child’s birth certificate

Child’s report card
