At just 13 years old, Kona is already a seasoned entrepreneur, running a successful business called Drizzle Me Sweet with support from her mother, Elaine. What began as a simple lemonade stand at the age of six has blossomed into a beloved neighborhood fixture on Columbus Avenue, attracting crowds eager to try her innovative treats.

Kona’s journey into entrepreneurship didn’t start in earnest until she was nine, but once she and her mom resumed their lemonade stand, they never looked back. By age ten, Kona expanded her offerings to include caramel apples, which quickly became a hit. This success spurred the duo to bring their stand to local festivals, where their seasonal hot chocolate and apple cider have also gained popularity.

What sets Kona apart isn’t just her knack for creating delicious treats, but the valuable lessons she’s learning along the way. From budgeting to saving for college and donating to her church, Kona is mastering money management skills that many don’t acquire until much later in life.

Drizzle Me Sweet now operates on Fridays, Saturdays, and sometimes Sundays, with the busiest times being during hot days. Their next appearance will be at the Community of Faith Church festival on September 7th, with more events planned at Heskett Middle School and Wade Oval.

Kona’s story is a testament to the power of young ambition, guided by family support, and the sweet rewards of hard work and dedication.
