Wednesday, June 13 Reports

Officers responded to a call for a stolen business check at the above address. After speaking with the employee at the front desk, it was determined that a $500 check was stolen from the company and cashed at a store in Akron. Officers received a copy of the completed check. The complainant was given a police report number and advised on how to obtain a copy for their records. She advised us that the owner will be following up with the company in order to obtain more information. Officers followed up with complainant on June 14, and she stated that the suspect that was named on the check and where it was cashed. She stated that she is still attempting to identify who took the check. On June 18, it was stated the manager of the store where the check was cashed has video from the transaction with the suspect.

Female caller states that a $12,000 check was written on a closed account
. She says she had called earlier and was directed to another department
who directed her back to this number. Officers spoke to the complainant who stated on May 31 a male wrote out a fraudulent check for $12,000 in attempt to purchase a car. The manager of the dealership contacted the male on June 12 and advised him to return the vehicle or to write a certified bank check. Since said date the dealership has attempted to contact the male with no answer and a full voicemail box. Officers attempted to call the male through a phone number obtained by the manager. Later officers called the number obtained by the dealership and left a voicemail for the male. Officer spoke with dealership and advised them to send a demand letter to suspect.

Caller reporting an employee who did not show up for work today and took two checks from the business and cashed them. Officers spoke to the caller who stated sometime between June 7 and June 13 a suspected male broke into the complainant’s office and stole two checks. Both checks were written and made out to the suspected male; one check for $686.92 and the other for $450.86.

Officers were dispatched to the lobby for a report of identity theft. The victim stated that on June 7, she received an email from a company claiming to be the Apple computer company. In the email, the company advised the victim that her Apple iCloud account was unable to receive payment and that she needed to update her credit card. Sue to the victim’s husband recently passing away, she believed that the account must have had his recently cancelled credit card on file for the account. The victim stated that she sent all of her personal information via email to the company including her Social Security Number, address, and a copy of her picture ID. Officers advised her to report the incident to her bank, as well as to the credit bureaus in order for them to flag her account for suspicious activity. she was given a police report number and advised on how to obtain a copy for her records.

Male wants to report that another male threatened to assault him. The complainant was previously threatened by the suspect. When the complainant observed the suspect enter onto the property, he left. The complainant is concerned about the suspect and another person living with his brother. He wanted to know how he could evict them from the property. Because his brother is the owner of the property, he would be the person able to initiate the eviction process. The complainant was given several options on how to deal with the situation.

Female complainant is not able to come to the station due to an injury. She says she is getting harassing emails and phone calls from the wife of a former co-worker. She told her to stop but keeps getting messages. The complainant has blocked the email address and phone number from which she was contacted. She does not want the subject to know where she lives. She was advised to call back if the problem continues and the parties will be contacted at that point. No threats were made. The complainant was given some advice regarding the issue.

Complainant is in the police department lobby
threatening the president and demanding money from a business where he worked. There was a verbal dispute over money owed. Officers spoke to the employee and advised him that he is not to return to the business. The employee’s check will be mailed to him.

Caller states she and her boyfriend got into an argument and he physically attacked and began punching her in the head and chest. He’s no longer on scene
. Happened about a half hour ago. Her father is now on scene with her.
This was a mutual physical fight and she was given her options on how to evict him. The male left prior to officer arrival. A phone message was left for the male to call the station.

Caller wants to report a scam. She is out $125. The complainant stated she was contacted by someone claiming to work for publishers clearing house and she had won $2.5 million and a new car. however, this was not true. The male told her to send them $125.27 on a green moneypak card, which she did. When publishers clearing house did not show up with her winnings, she realized it was a scam and reported this to the police. She was advised on scams and given information.

Caller said he is trying to get his kid in the car and he will not get in the car. Then disconnected. Upon callback, male is intoxicated and trying to get his 16-year-old son out of the pool. Same male from call earlier. Male was advised that the son was staying at the grandmother’s house where he has lived the last 12 years. Male was told not to return to his mother’s home unless invited. Grandmother was also given options in regards to custody.

Caller advised medications from the residence at home. Caller is in the police department lobby for a report. Complainant is moving out of the residence and reports one of her medications lost/stolen. She is making this report so her doctor can call in a refill. The complainant does suspect who took the medications, but does not have any proof.

Location: Center Road
Female on station to speak to an officer about encounter she had with a male on a walking trail behind the police dept. Female is waiting in lobby; stress gives her seizures. Declined squad. Male exposed himself to her on the trail, thin build, older, with light shirt and light shorts. Checked with numerous other people immediately in the area and no one saw a male matching that description. Transported the female to her residence. On June 16, female was shown a lineup with a possible suspect. She was unable to identify anyone that matched the description of the suspect.

Officers spoke to the caller who stated they had a flat tire and they called a local towing company to tow the vehicle to Acura in Bedford where the husband works so he could get it fixed in the morning. The caller said the tow truck driver began giving the her attitude and would not answer any questions. The driver then took the vehicle to Acura where the husband followed. Once at Acura, the driver was trying to unload the vehicle in the wrong spot, and when the husband tried to direct them to the proper spot, the driver became angry, screaming at the husband and making vague threats towards him. The driver then left with the vehicle and took it to the lot of the towing company. The company told the caller they would now have to pay for the impound fees and then hung up. She said nobody from the business would answer the phone to talk about the situation. The caller was advised to contact the towing company to figure out the situation with the car.

The complainant came on station to report a worker from a rental company was coming to her house. She admits that she was behind on payments for some appliances. She said the worker came over to her house and opened her back door then asked if she was home. She said he then left after she called the manager of the store. She wanted to report this in order to get a protection order against him. Officer spoke with the worker on the phone. He stated the complainant’s kids were outside playing with the back door propped open. He said he did yell inside to see if the complainant was home, but never entered the home. The complainant was given some options for her civil issue with the business. The worker was told to have another worker go to the home, should that be needed, due to him not being welcome anymore.

The complainant reported repeated, almost daily, incidents of only his vehicle being vandalized in the parking lot. officers responded. The complainant has security cameras pointing at his vehicle. He says daily the cameras are moved and his vehicle is rummaged through. He also stated his apartment has been entered when he was away and several items were moved in the apartment. There was no forced entry.

Male caller is at this business and states that someone came to his home across the street and stole his groceries. Was passed on by Bedford Heights and he had no description of them. No time frame or possible direction of travel. Caller called back and requesting officers disregard.
Time: 9:42 p.m.
Code: Threats
Location: Garden Street
Caller states female neighbor drove past her residence in a silver SUV. Female then stopped in the roadway and made verbal threats to physically harm her for calling the police on her. Female left about two minutes ago. Officers spoke to the female who denied driving past the house and making threats towards the caller. She was advised to not have contact with the caller.

Caller advised her husband threw her to the floor.
Caller is not injured. Husband does have guns; unsure of where they are.
Caller has not seen any weapons on him today.
There is also a 19-year-old female at the home.
No intoxication. Caller will be waiting on the porch. Husband is waiting inside. Officers spoke to both parties who stated they got into an argument about the wife wanting to see phone logs from the husbands cell phone. The husband agreed to leave for the night and work on finding another living arrangement.

. Caller does not see anyone. Navy blue car was at the home earlier side door. Asked for the caller to step out
. Caller did not answer. Advised a realty number is in the window.
Nothing seems out of place or broken. Contacted the realty company and left a message for someone to call back.
