Business would like to report a vehicle for unauthorized use that has not been returned. They have a vin number for the vehicle. They last attempted to report on 07/12/2018 for this offense.

The complainant is in the lobby and wants to make a report. The business was broken into last night. Entry was made, but he states nothing was taken. When advised he should return to the business and wait for officer there, the complainant stated he did not want to upset his customers. He thinks it’s an employee. An officer met with the complainant in the lobby. The complainant stated that an employee of his happened to be walking by the business last night and noticed that the lights and a TV were on inside the business. The complainant stated that when the business opened this morning everything was turned off. He feels it is a former employee that has a known drug problem and was kicked out by his wife. The complainant was given some advice for how to better protect his business. He requested for officers to keep an eye on the business after hours stating that no one should be inside. Information was forwarded to the officer in charge.

Caller states a female was beating her 6 to 8-year-old boy. She was on top of him, hitting him. The lady beating the child kept saying, “I’m doing this for your mother.” Officer investigated and there was no reason for complaint.

Male unconscious but shallow breathing and foaming from mouth. Victim is 40-year-old male. Male is now coughing. Male is awake now and talking and advising that he is okay. Given one shot of Narcan. Caller reports a male was walking out of her room when she was returning. She thought it was a maintenance. Officers responded to the listed address and spoke with the complainant and determined that there was no purse missing. Workers at the residence advised that the caller has dementia.

Caller states her ex-husband is trying to break into the residence. Officers responded and located a man near the residence. He was arrested and charged with violation of a protection order.

Caller in lobby would like to speak to an officer about issues with her husband. They have been arguing a lot and the female is upset because she and her husband are going through a divorce and she wants him to leave the house. She was advised that since they are both married and there has not been any physical violence, he cannot be forced to leave the home. The female was given some advice.

Caller states her child’s father just hit her in the back of the neck with a closed fist. No weapons. No alcohol or drugs. Female has walked out of the apartment and she will be outside waiting with her 2-year-old daughter. Male still inside the apartment. Caller denying an ambulance. States her daughter is also okay. Both parties admitted to having a argument. The male denied striking the female. The female left with the daughter. She does not wish for anything further police action.

Female wants to speak with someone about her vehicle getting damaged. The complainant stated that her vehicle is constantly being damaged in the parking lot of her apartment complex. She advised that she has found the doors unlocked and some kind of oil wiped on the interior of the vehicle. Officer photographed some small scratches that appear to have been done by other vehicle doors. The oil inside was located on the center console lid. The complainant feels that the damage is being done in the early morning hours. Complainant requested night shift to check the parking lot for suspicious activity.

The manager stated that the tenant came into her office and threatened to beat her up. The tenant was advised not to make contact with the front office any longer. She stated that she will comply.

Highly intoxicated female attempting to leave in a vehicle. Currently walking toward her car. Female is currently sitting on the bench in front of the main entrance. There is a male with the female. Caller is not sure what vehicle they arrived in. Officer spoke to both parties. The female admitted to having one drink earlier. Officer asked to perform an Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test and she agreed. Female had a lack of smooth pursuit in both eyes and could not hold her head still during the test. Officer advised her not to drive. She and the male agreed to go to his place at for a few hours. Transporting the two parties toRockside Road.

Male would like to speak with an officer about threats. Officers spoke with the complainant in the lobby. He stated that he received a phone call from his son’s friend who stated that he was going to shoot his son in the head with a .45 handgun and that he only has one hour to live. Officers attempted to contact his son on the matter.

Location: Broadway Avenue (Buyer’s Choice Auto Sales)
Caller said bike was stolen approximately two minutes ago. Unknown who took it. Suspects are two males, one looked like a teenager the other looked like he was in his 30s. Caller said the van that the males are in was southbound. No weapons. Caller was advised to have his parents come up there. He is 16 years old. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the male with the bike. Caller was advised to come to the station with his parents. Officers out at 22 Mapleton Avenue speaking with a suspect. Officers were able to locate the suspects involved and they provided information as to where the bicycle may be in lieu of charges. The bicycle was retrieved from where the suspect’s intuited it may be —in the woods next to the railroad on Palmetto Avenue. The property was returned to the owner.

Male shoplifter took off in green mini-van on Columbus Road towards the center of town. Took a bunch of items like clothes and soap. Officers checked for the suspect vehicle.

Officers spoke to the complainant who stated while his son was playing outside, one of his son’s friends came into the yard and took money from the son and then jumped on a bike and fled towards West Glendale Avenue. The complainant and his son got into their truck and went after the group of kids to attempt to catch the male. The caller was unable to locate. The complainant’s son was able to provide a name and description of the male who stole the money. The complainant and his son stated the juvenile and his mother came to the house and the money was returned. No further police action. Complainant never reported the money returned until officers stopped by the residence.

Caller wants to make a harassment report on her neighbor. Has complained to the management who has not done anything about it. Male in apartment below is continually banging things on the ceiling to wake her up. The female is upset because the male bangs on her floor because he feels that the TV is too loud. There was no answer at the apartment. The female was advised to contact management about the issues.

Resident advised someone stole her keys from her room while she was sleeping. States this isn’t the first time someone has stole something from her. She would like to speak to an officer. The complainant stated that she went to bed last night with her apartment key, safe key and several other keys attached to a bracelet that was on her wrist. When she woke up this morning the bracelet/keys were gone. The complainant believes someone came into her room while she was asleep and removed the keys from her wrist. The apartment was checked but the keys could not be located. She was advised that information would be on file.

Caller wants to make a report as someone is writing checks in her deceased sister’s name. The complainant, who is also the power of attorney to the estate, said she was alerted by her sister’s bank regarding possible fraudulent activity on the account. Due to insufficient information, no further investigation will be conducted.

Male in the lobby to report his gun missing from his vehicle. Officers spoke to the complainant in the lobby who stated person(s) unknown went inside his vehicle and stole an all-black 9mm handgun that was in his glove compartment. Also, the male states he does not know if the handgun was stolen at his residence or at his work. The male also states that there are no signs of forcible entry to his vehicle and that it may have been unlocked at the time. The male was advised to get the make, model and serial number of the handgun so it can be entered into leads.

Officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance. The caller stated her boyfriend forced her out of the house and slammed the door on her. The man was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

Caller states there is a female in a gray car. She is highly intoxicated and is trying to leave. Caller believes she has already hit something. The front end is damaged. Officer is out with the vehicle. Female advised she is highly intoxicated and needs a ride home. Transporting female to her address. Female dropped at her residence.

Officers spoke to the caller who stated at 8:12 p.m. on 07-18-18, a male drove up to the Volkswagen dealership and stole two tires. The driver then drove to the Fiat dealership and stole two more tires, and a tire with a wheel that belonged to an employee. Officers ran the plate through leads which shows a different male then the one that appears in the surveillance camera at Fiat and Volkswagen. The manager of the dealerships will get video of the theft at a later time and forward them to officer’s email. Also, the manager of the dealerships stated that he is not worried about the scrapped tires that was taken, he just wants the wheel that was taken that was used for an employee’s vehicle. Officers will also attempt to make contact with the owner of the vehicle from leads.

Male on station to file a report. Complainant stated that yesterday at work his manager was upset over something and kicked him in the butt. He stated he was bent down getting information from a customer’s vehicle when he approached and kicked him then said, “You gave me the wrong information!” Complainant stated he did not know what caused the outburst. He went to the hospital today for treatment from pain in the area of the kick. The emergency room cleared him with no obvious injuries. Complainant will speak with his manager’s supervisor on Monday and wanted the information on file.

Officers spoke with the complainant and his father. The father said he told his son to leave the property after he did not finish mowing the lawn. The son refused to leave and got into his father’s face. No signs of a physical altercation. To keep the peace, one of the males was transported by the police to another location in Oakwood Village.

Female called non-emergency Bedford line, crying and said, “I’d like to report an assault.” When dispatch asked the address the line disconnected. Dispatch tried to call the number back several times and it goes to voicemail. Dispatch looked the phone number and nothing is in file. Message left.

Female reports she had a physical altercation with her boyfriend. When she attempted to leave the area, another male pointed a gun at her and said he was going to kill her. After a search of the second male’s vehicle, marijuana, Xanax pills, ammunition and a gun box was located. A loaded magazine was located in the male’s pants pocket. No firearm was located. Complainant did not pursue charges against either of the males at the time of the incident. One was cited for possession of drugs.

Male in the lobby for theft of a wallet. Male reports that on 6/28/18, he left his jacket containing his wallet at the Bedford football stadium during practice. When he returned to get his jacket, it was gone and so was his wallet. The wallet contained his driver’s license. Male just wanted the incident on file.

Female stated someone broke into the apartment, but she does not think anyone is in the home now. Her blind husband was home during the burglary. Female stated they took the TV and her husband’s cane. Caller stated she left the home at 11:30 and returned home at 3:00 and realized the TV was missing.

Officers spoke to the caller who stated he does not have a good relationship with his daughter due to past incidents, so they both avoid each other and leave each other alone. The daughter’s boyfriend started texting the caller making vague threats to him and wanting to “meet up” to fight. The caller wanted a report on file and for officers to contact the boyfriend to advise no more contact. Officers called the boyfriend and advised him of the situation and that the caller wants no more contact from him or his daughter. The boyfriend agreed to stop all further contact to keep the peace.

Unit #1 was parked at pump #3 and unit #2 tried to get around unit #1 and side swiped the vehicle. Unit #2 then fled the scene without exchanging information. Officers out at Gasway for follow up. Parma Police Department was contacted and request was made for officers to go check and attempt to make contact with the vehicle owner that left the scene. They made contact with the female and told her to contact officer.

Caller would like to file a report for stolen plate sticker. Caller reported he was contacted by Solon Police Station about the validation sticker on his motorcycle. They recovered the sticker on a stolen plate in Solon. The owner was unaware his sticker had been removed. He gave no one permission to remove/use his validation sticker.

Two females stole groceries. Car has no rear plate and is speeding north on Northfield Road. Two females stole a jar of salsa, approximate value is $2. One female was wearing a red tank top and black pants and the other was wearing a grey tank top with black pants. The surveillance camera shows the females getting into a Nissan with temporary tags in the bottom left back window. The video was not clear enough to see the Ohio registration. The manager at Giant Eagle just wants to report it and would like no further police action at this time.

Approximately three weeks ago a female who was visiting a friend was outside with a male having sex when the caller told them to go somewhere else. The female verbally threatened her. Female was advised of civil options on protection orders.

Caller advises that someone attempted to steal her dog this morning. Officers spoke to the female who stated that unknown person(s) tried to take her dog when she went into her house for a couple minutes. The female stated that an unknown passer-by stopped and warned her. The passer-by stated they did not see anyone take the dog or any people in general, they just saw the car in the area. The female states that she found her dog moments later at the dealership on the corner of Broadway Avenue and Powers Road. The report will be filed and kept in records.

At approximately 3:31 a.m., while on scene at Bedford Downtown Beverage, officers received a call for another alarm at Deli 4 Less. Officers responded and located the front door glass broken. Officers cleared the building and did not locate any suspects. While on scene, dispatch advised that Maple Heights had a similar alarm and glass breakage at Food Deal. Officers collected evidence and buccal swabs at both locations and entered them into property.

Complainant called to report a mother/daughter dispute. The complainant stated that they are having a verbal domestic on the first floor near the front door. Caller did not have an apartment number and refused to give any further information. Written statements obtained from all parties. All paperwork to be reviewed by the prosecutor for a ruling.

Complainant called to report a Corolla taken by a friend not returned. Officer spoke to the complainant who stated that she rented the above listed vehicle for her friend who is a professional comic. The rental was obtained on 7/16/18 and was to be returned on 7/24/18. The friend took the vehicle to Atlanta for a job and paid the complainant $220 in cash to cover the cost. The complainant called the friend on 7/23/18 to confirm that he would be returning with the vehicle on the 24th. The complainant stated that he hurt his back but would attempt to get the vehicle back. The complainant stated that she received a call from the friend that night saying that he was going to the emergency room. She stated that he was to have surgery on his back. She stated that she spoke to him on the 26th about the car and suggested that he purchase a plane ticket for her so she could get the vehicle back to the rental company. She advised that this seemed to be the way they were going to handle the matter and then he stopped responding to her calls. When she did make contact, he would hang up on her. He has since blocked her phone number and access to his social media accounts. Officer obtained a written statement from her and a copy of her paperwork from the rental company. Officer advised the complainant to contact the rental company and obtain the vin number for the vehicle. On 7/28/18 officer spoke to the complainant who advised that the rental company would not provide her with the vin number unless she came into the office. Officer called the rental agency and spoke to an employee and obtained the vehicle information. Officer also called the friend’s cell phone number and left a message for him to return the call. On 7/29/18, the officer called the friend and spoke to him and advised him of the reason for the call. He asked when the friend would get the vehicle back. He stated that he did not understand why he was being called but admitted that he used the car to get to Atlanta. He stated that the complainant agreed to fly to Atlanta to get the vehicle and that he left it with the keys inside. The officer attempted to get the location of the vehicle and the phone disconnected. The male friend called back and advised that his location was bad and that was the reason the phone disconnected. He advised where he left the car. The officer called the Atlanta Police Department and asked them to check for the vehicle. The officer called the complainant back and left a message. The complainant called back and the officer spoke to her. She was advised of the recent investigation. She stated that she did agree to go to Atlanta but told the friend that she did not have the money and asked him to purchase the ticket. She stated that she has text messages of their conversation and will forward them. The officer called the Atlanta Police Department back, and they advised that they checked the area given and the vehicle is no longer there. They were thanked and advised of the present status. The officer will forward paperwork to detective bureau for review. The rental company needs to be advised to file for the missing car and also for possible charges against the female and the male with the Solon Police Department.

Business wants to file a report for a female customer leaving with a bag full of merchandise. The female filled a tote and her purse with various merchandise. The female exited the store with the merchandise without paying for the merchandise. The female entered a small gray hatchback car, unknown make and model. The female stole mostly jewelry and t-shirts with an unknown value. The reporting employee stated she will call should the female return.

Complainant came to station to report that her computer was hacked last night. She advised that she turned her Macbook on and had a screen appear that stated the computer was locked and provided a phone number to call back. The complainant tried several times to clear the computer without success. She stated that she called the number on the screen and spoke to a male named Nick. Nick advised her that he could unlock her computer but needed to verify her information. The complainant stated that Nick had her Social Security number and some bank information. Complainant was provided with statement forms. Complainant will complete the forms and return them on Monday.

Caller has the deed to the house. Unknown parties have damaged the locks and changed the locks on all doors. The complainant called to report the bank changed the locks on his doors. The complainant still claimed ownership and wanted to change the locks back. His attorney advised him he could change the locks. He was advised to take his attorney’s advice and that police cannot determine ownership and that it is a civil matter. The complainant wanted the situation on file.

The complainant came to the station to report an assault that occurred earlier at this residence. He is a home health worker for the owner of the home. Another resident at the home has a boyfriend who was at the home. They wanted the complainant to stay and watch the homeowner later than he was supposed to. The boyfriend got upset when the complainant wouldn’t stay and pushed him. The complainant did not want any police action taken, but wanted the incident on file should anything further happen.

Male at caller’s door with a gun. Caller does not know him. He said he was looking for caller’s roommate. Roommate is not home. He sounded drunk and belligerent and caller saw a gun through the peephole. Officers have the male in sight …he is on the second floor and does not appear to have anything in his hand …no weapon seen by officers…male in question is wearing a gray short-sleeve shirt and is medium build. Male’s hands are up and walking down the back steps to the officers …he is unarmed. Male is in custody. Transporting male back to jail. Officers on scene were able to find a broom and swept the glass off to the side. Management still needs to come and secure the door and completely dispose of the glass.

Complainant is in the lobby to report fraud by a family member. Officer spoke to the complainant who advised that she believes that her sister is taking advantage of her brother who has dementia. The complainant stated that she has had durable power of attorney over her brother’s bank account since 2016. She stated that she has noticed that her brother’s account has had suspicious withdrawals of $300.00 or more. The complainant stated that recently she checked the account and found a large withdrawal from the account leaving approximately $1,000 in the account to cover any lingering checks that have not been cashed. The complainant went to the bank and learned that another account has been set up by her brother and sister. The complainant stated that she was told by the bank that she could not access the other account and that the brother had the ability to set up the account. The complainant stated that the sister is living with the brother on Tarbell Avenue and has convinced him that he could purchase the house. The complainant stated that she has a check written on her brother’s account to the sister in a large amount with the word gift in the memo section. The complainant was advised to seek legal council in regards to her brother’s current condition to find the best way to protect him. The complainant was also advised to talk with probate court about seeking guardianship over the brother. Written statement obtained, and information on file.

Caller reporting her husband is hitting her vehicle with a bat. Female left the home and is at a gas station waiting for officers. Officers searched the home and no one else was around the residence. Male was taken to the hospital by his sister and friend. He appeared to be on some sort of substance.

Female was attacked by another female. Lives in Garfield Heights and refused ambulance. There was a mutual physical altercation between the two females over a guy. Officers were unable to determine a primary aggressor. Both females were advised of disorderly conduct and agreed to stay away from each other to keep the peace.

Unit #1 was southbound on Broadway Avenue in the left lane. Unit #2 was northbound in the left lane. The driver of Unit #2 went left of the double yellow centerline and the driver-side mirror of Unit #2 struck the driver side mirror of Unit #1.

The complainant came to the station lobby to report her children’s grandmother not returning her children to her. The complainant dropped off the children on 7/27/18 for the children to sleep at their grandmother’s for visitation with the father on 7/28/18. The complainant then tried to contact the grandmother on this date to arrange pickup for the kids with no luck. She has not been able to reach the grandmother and numerous calls by officers went unanswered. An officer responded to the home and a male on scene said that the grandmother took the kids camping. The complainant provided court paperwork that stated she had sole custody of one child, but did not have the paperwork for the other. The paperwork does state the grandmother is to have the children present at her home for visitation with the father on Saturdays. The complainant stated the grandmother filed for emergency custody and they are to have a hearing on 7/30/18. The complainant feels the grandmother is holding the children until after the court case. The complainant was provided a copy of the report to take to court.

Grandmother in the lobby to hand over her grandchildren to their mother. She would like an officer to stand by while the exchange occurs. The female states that her job is requiring her to make a police report and she would like officers to call the male and advise him to cease contact with the company. Officers called the number retrieved from the female and left a voicemail and advised him to cease communications with the company. Officers spoke to the male over the phone, he states he will stop contact with the company but pursue civil options with his attorney.

Caller stated she swerved to avoid a driver and struck the curve and busted her tire. Female is in the parking lot of the Bedford Board of Education. The caller stated that she was in the right lane northbound on Northfield Road and a passenger bus in the left lane drifted into her lane causing her to swerve and hit the right curb blowing out both right-side tires on her car. The caller stated the bus stopped a little further up the road. The driver of the bus got out and looked around the bus and then left the area. The caller’s vehicle was disabled and she pulled onto Bonnieview Drive but the driver did not see her. Photos were taken of the damage. No information could be located for the company related to the bus. The caller was advised that information would be on file. She is insured with State Farm.

Officer called victim at work she advised that she placed her bicycle in her patio area. She said she had no renter insurance. Value of the bicycle is approximately $200.00.

An officer located the subject and verified that he was intoxicated. The subject was escorted back to the residence with the four-year old daughter and instructed to leave her at home.

A traffic stop was initiated on a Ford. A probable cause search of the vehicle was performed due to the driver admitting marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was found to be driving under suspension and in possession of a loaded Glock 19 9mm handgun and a small quantity of marijuana. The vehicle was towed, and an affidavit was faxed to the court for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Defendant to obtain own counsel. Bond changed to $5000. The Bedford Police Department shall hold the weapon until further order of the court. Officer test-fired the weapon, and it was found fully operational.

She states her stepmom only does this when her father is not around. Female stated she does not have a phone because they took it. Officer spoke to the female and will type up the report and speak to the father. Spoke with the father, and he was advised of the situation. He stated he will speak to his daughter when gets off work. He admitted his daughter is disciplined but not abused.

She ran after him to get her keys because she didn’t want him to take her car. She said she grabbed him and pushed him trying to get her keys from his hand. He pushed her back knocking her over. The complainant did not want to press charges. She was advised to get his belongings packed up and have him move out.

Caller reporting a shoplifter who just left in a Buick. Officers spoke to the manager who stated a younger male stole unknown items at an unknown value. She then stated the male then proceeded to get into the Buick and headed west down Rockside Road toward Maple Heights. The manager will obtain a video of the theft and notify officers when it’s ready. Also, the manager states this is the male’s third time doing this. Manager could not identify the male and did not have a total on what was taken. They were advised to call the station if and when the male returns.

Officers were dispatched to Circle K for a welfare check on a male sleeping in a vehicle. The male was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. During the course of the interaction, a k9 arrived on scene. The k9 handler advised the k9 gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics. A probable cause search was conducted. Located inside a black case was a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol, suspected marijuana, and a smoking pipe. The male was arrested and returned to the Bedford Jail. He was charged with improper handling of a firearm within a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers spoke to a female who stated that starting near the end of July, person(s) unknown have been opening loans in her name. She does not know an exact amount, but approximated the amounts in the several thousands of dollars. She has contacted several of the companies, but they are mostly operated online and have no gotten back to her. She was advised to compile as much documentation from the companies as she can and bring them to the station to be added to the report. She has already contact her bank and notified her employer. Officers advised her of several other options she has to better protect her identity. She also noted that about a year ago, her Uber account was hacked and someone was transferring money to another bank account. She was advised to contact Uber for any information they have on that incident.

Officers spoke with the homeowner about an ongoing situation she is having. Her landlord was going to rent her home to another female but the deal fell through. She then rented the home to the complainant which angered the other female. The complainant believes this other woman has been harassing her and damaging her property. She arrived home and was unable to open her front door and believes the female may have damaged it. Officers did not see any pry marks on either side of the door and could not see anything jammed into the keyhole. However, the door was unable to be opened and the complainant stated the door worked fine prior to leaving that evening. She was advised to call a locksmith for the door and to call officers if she sees the female anywhere around her house.

The male states that nothing else was taken but the rest of the items in his garage were out of place and were gone through. Also, the male states that there were no signs of forcible entry to his garage. The male also does not have any problems with any nearby neighbors or family and does not think they had anything to do with the theft. He states that the two bottles of chinese liquor that were taken were a gift to him and the approximate value of both were $120.00.

Female found a bullet casing inside her kitchen on the floor and her side kitchen window is shattered. Caller is unsure when this occurred. Sometime over the past couple of days, person(s) unknown fired a single 9mm round through the kitchen window on the east side of the house causing damage to the window and screen. It is not known where the round was fired from. Officers checked the area for the casing, but were unsuccessful in locating it.
