BEDFORD, OH — As reported by 21 News, on Monday, February 3, 2025, Los Gallos’ Bedford location participated in the nationwide event “A Day Without Immigrants.” The movement encouraged immigrants to refrain from working, shopping, or sending their children to school as a way to emphasize their contributions and advocate for their rights.
Restaurant owner Israel Zambrano explained that after more than 20 years in the United States, he wanted to show support for the Latino community. As a U.S. citizen who built a business and raised a family in the country, he expressed gratitude for the support he has received but also felt it was important to stand in solidarity with fellow immigrants.
While Zambrano backed the idea of stricter immigration policies concerning criminal activity, he hoped that hardworking Latinos seeking a better life would still have opportunities to succeed in the country. He closed his statement by thanking the community for its support and reaffirming his appreciation for the country that gave him the chance to build a future.
