You may have seen collection boxes popping up around town—and now there’s a good reason why.
The Bedford Downtown Alliance is inviting the community to take part in a new project: the creation of a Bedford Community Cookbook. Collection boxes have been placed at Spirit Apotheosis, City Hall, and Ellenwood, making it easy for residents to share their favorite recipes and be part of something that celebrates Bedford’s unique flavor.
The idea is simple—bring together the dishes that define our community. Whether it’s a go-to potluck favorite, a cherished family recipe, or something you make every game day, every submission helps tell the story of Bedford through food. No special experience is needed—just a love of cooking and a willingness to share.
Participating is designed to be easy and accessible. Residents can pick up a recipe form, write out their recipe, and drop it in one of the collection boxes. For those who prefer a digital option, recipes can also be submitted online by scanning the QR code featured on the flyer.
The deadline to submit recipes is May 17, giving the community several weeks to dig out their favorites and contribute. Selected recipes will be featured in the final cookbook, which aims to represent the diversity, traditions, and shared experiences that make Bedford special.
Sponsored by Matchgirl Productions and brought to you by the Bedford Downtown Alliance, the cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes—it’s a way to bring people together, preserve local traditions, and highlight the meals that connect us.
So next time you’re out and about, keep an eye out for those collection boxes—and consider dropping in a recipe of your own.
