Good Afternoon,
The Board of Education met last night to consider an all virtual option for all students. Previously the board heard a presentation and voted on a hybrid model or full virtual option for students. In light of the data and information presented, as well as the release of a recommendation from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, the board of education is taking that recommendation and therefore, all students will attend virtually for the first quarter of school. In addition, we will be suspending sports, band, theater, choir, and other face to face activities during the remote learning period effective at the end of the day today. We will continue to offer extracurricular activities that can be done so remotely. We understand the impact of this decision and apologize to our students and families who are being affected, but we believe this option provides for the safety and well-being of our students and staff. The presentation of the board meeting which thoroughly explained our virtual plan can be viewed on our website or on BCS-TV through Spectrum cable. The Board of Health’s recommendations are attached. We will provide parents with a plan that is designed more specifically for parents and students in the upcoming weeks. Thank you and take care.
