A call came in from the Cuyahoga Emergency Communications System (CECOMS). A child is heard, and there is a lot of yelling in the background. A female in the background is saying, “Stop putting your hands on me.” The caller disconnected after that. There was a voicemail received upon the call-back attempt. On the fourth callback, a female said she was beat up by a male in front of her child while trying to take her belongings out of an apartment. Officers are out with the male.

A female complainant is concerned because she believes her information has been stolen. She attempted to file an unemployment claim for COVID relief, but was denied. She has been receiving calls and believes her information was compromised. She checked with her bank, and it does not appear any money has been taken. She was advised of her options, but just wanted the information documented.

Ellenwood Avenue (Ellenwood Recreation Center)
A recreation department vehicle was reported stolen about five minutes ago. It is a GMC truck. Maple Heights and Warrensville Heights departments were advised. The truck is traveling north on Center Road. Now it is traveling on Northfield Road, turning onto Mueti Drive near the interstate. The vehicle is traveling at 40 mph in light traffic. The suspect entered Interstate 480 heading east toward Interstate 271 southbound. The pursuit was terminated, and Oakwood Village Police was advised. A bulletin was broadcast for officers to be on the lookout for the truck.

A female is in the lobby to report that her credit card was stolen. She thinks it was a staff member. An officer spoke with the complainant. She stated that on September 11, her debit card was taken from her purse while working at a home on Edgecliff. Her company is investigating the only other employee that was at the home. The bank is also investigating the charges on the card. The total value of the theft is $30.

The caller is at the house to pick up his 3-year-old son, and his ex is refusing to turn him over. The caller advised they do not have any custody paperwork on file.  Officers spoke to the male on the phone as he was waiting outside of the residence. He stated that on Sept. 1, he voluntarily left the residence after they ended their relationship. He has been coming to the residence to see his son every week and made plans with the child’s mother to take him to his new apartment today. When he arrived, she locked him out and would not respond to his text messages. The male was advised to contact the county courthouse to seek a custody agreement. He wanted it documented that, while he does not feel his son is in danger or being abused, he thinks the child’s mother has been acting irrationally as of late. He was advised to collect all police reports on file and speak to an attorney about obtaining custody.

A male is threatening the caller at a dealership with a sword. He is driving a Honda, and is heading out of downtown Bedford in a car that has no plates. The male was recognized from another previous civil matter. The caller has a video of the male pulling the sword from a cane. He may be traveling to Canton.

A female states she was sitting in her car yesterday about to pull out of her driveway and a male spit on her car window. Officers spoke to the female in the lobby and she stated a random male drove up to her parked car and spit on her car window. The window was closed and no spit actually got on her, but she wanted it documented. She described the suspect as a 45-year-old male with a bald head and hair on the sides. He was in a Honda, but she was unable to get the license plate. She was advised to call the police if he returns, or if she is able to identify the plate.

The caller advised that someone threw something through a window of the business. Officers spoke to the business owner at his dojo. Person(s) unknown have once again thrown a rock or other small object at his front window causing a large crack. He is still having issues with his security cameras, but officers will follow up on Sept. 21 after his IT guy comes to see if the system caught any footage. Photos were taken, and the approximate cost of the broken window pane is $1,200.

A caller went next door to report that her husband broke her phone and put his hands on her. She declined EMS. Both parties are highly intoxicated. Nothing physical was reported to officers. Both parties will separate for the night.

A caller states that his brother, who is high on something, pushed his mother, and she hit her head on the floor and is bleeding. The male is not sure where his brother is.  He is not sure if the brother still has the knife. The male went out the back door, and the caller is in the kitchen with his mother. Officers arrived and found out the issue started over the mother finding the son in the kitchen with his head in the oven.  When she tried to talk to him, the issue started. The caller then said he cannot confirm that he saw a knife. The male only told him he was going to stab him.  Officers cleared the house. The squad can continue in.

A female caller believes a male she knows is in the home. It is unknown how and when he got back in. She is in her bedroom with the door locked. The front door is unlocked. He is in his room upstairs. Officers entered the rear sliding door and located the complainant. An officer asked the male to come down and talk with officers about the incident that happened earlier. The male came down the stairs and was advised that he was under arrest. The male was restrained by officers, but continued to struggle after being told several more times that he was under arrest. He was handcuffed and escorted to a marked police cruiser. The male will be charged with resisting arrest in addition to the domestic violence warrants.

A third party caller states that a girlfriend called him stating her ex-boyfriend was there smashing property. The subject has now left. Earlier, he was driving erratically in front of the house in a Chevy. The male gathered some of his property and has left. The male was satisfied with this. Officers also checked the male’s mental status and he seemed to be OK.

A male in an Acura pointed a gun at a male in a Dodge and went east on Rockside. The complainant believes it was a traffic altercation of some sort. Officers were unable to find the suspect.

A male states he bought a vehicle in cash from someone who lives in Bedford and never got the title from them. The complainant called to report he purchased a car from OfferUp. He did not know the male’s name and now cannot get a hold of the seller. He was advised of his civil options. The car was not entered as stolen in leads.

The caller is 16-year-old who states her stepdad came down naked and was yelling at her. He did not touch her. The mom is there and the stepdad left in a Ford.  All checks OK. It was a small argument.

In early September, the female complainant answered an online employment advertisement for IntelliShop. After applying for the job, she received a letter from the business, along with a check for $2,600 in her name. When the complainant inquired about the check, an associate explained to her that they needed her to deposit the check into her account and then have a money order in the amount of $2,000 sent back to them. The complainant did deposit the check into her bank account and she also sent them a $2,000 money order. She became suspicious when the business began asking her to give them information regarding her checking account. At that point she called her bank and talked with a manager who told her she was the victim of a scam. The manager advised her to file a police report.

A resident received a call soliciting money.  He did not give them any information, but he would like to speak with an officer. The male received a scam voicemail from an automated voice asking for $399. He did not call the number back, nor was any personal information provided. The male was advised to not answer any suspicious calls.

A complainant in the lobby states that unknown persons scratched her vehicle. An approximately 14-inch-long scratch was observed by officers on the driver’s side door. The complainant has motion cameras but was unable to observe anything of interest on the video. The complainant believes the suspect to be her neighbor whom she has a temporary protection order against.

A female states she feels unsafe with a male on the premises. The male does not know the police department is responding. The parties were advised to separate for the time being to let things cool off. They were having a heated argument over getting the house painted.

The caller moved from the Santin address and some belongings never made it to her new house. One was a tote full of designer purses and designer shoes. The caller thinks the value of the items is about $3,000. The female stated she moved out from her home in Bedford last Sunday with the help of a moving company. The complainant said that she later realized she was missing a large tote and believes that the movers may have taken her tote by hiding it somewhere when she was not looking and then going back to the house later in the evening. An officer spoke with the moving company owner. He stated that he and four other people that he has worked with for years moved the complainant’s belongings from Bedford to her new home. He said he doesn’t remember seeing a large tote and was adamant that neither he, nor the individuals he works with, would take her items. A voicemail was left with the complainant regarding the conversation.

Officers spoke to a caller who stated he made an agreement with a male that for $300, the male could drive his car for a month. The dates were from Aug. 15 to Sept. 15. The caller stated he tried calling the male after the agreement date had ended, and the male is refusing to give the car back. Officers advised that if the car is not brought back within 48 hours, he can sign unauthorized use charges.

A 17-year-old female is stating she wants to get away from her guardians for a little while. Her guardians are her aunt and uncle. The caller advised she wants to go to her boyfriend’s house for a little bit. She advised she does not want to get arrested if she leaves the address. She will not provide any information. She keeps stating that she has too many goals and can’t afford to get arrested. The caller’s aunt and uncle are in the kitchen now, and the caller is in her bedroom. The caller advised she has talked to her boyfriend and his parents about staying at their house. The caller will be packing her bags after she gets off the phone. She advised her boyfriend will be picking her up. Officers responded to the residence for a report of family trouble. The juvenile complainant stated her guardian would not let her leave the residence to go to her boyfriend’s. Officers made contact with the juvenile’s guardian who stated she was unaware of the issue and that the juvenile has been upset due to being disciplined for smoking a cigar. Both parties agreed to keep the peace for the evening and to come to a resolution on their own. Both parties were advised to contact the department if the issues continue. The situation checks OK at this time.

A male is trying to get into a female’s bedroom and she doesn’t want him in there anymore. The female kept saying “please leave, please leave.” The female advised the male has a knife. The female got out of the bedroom, and now he is in there. The door to the bedroom has been broken off. The caller is back on the line and advising that she is hiding in her closet, and she is trying to social distance. She has her mask and gloves on. The caller just keeps repeating she is not irrational. Officers report the husband and wife were having a verbal argument. There was no knife involved.  The female involved possibly has mental health issues. She was acting irrational, repeating herself, acting fidgety and trying to tell officers about members in her family who were possibly deceased but forgot if they were. The male half stated she began to act this way after an argument about getting their house painted. He was concerned that she was going to hurt herself so he did not want to leave, but was taking audio and video recordings because he did not want to get blamed if she did hurt herself. He was going to try and stay in the basement to keep the peace and was advised on the probate process.

The caller stated that the passenger’s side window in her Ford has been broken out. She is unsure what was taken because she did not have anything valuable inside.

The victim states that person(s) unknown were able to obtain her debit card number to make fraudulent purchases on her account. The victim states that the purchases were made online. The fraudulent purchases were made for $286.24 at Priceline.com for a flight ticket and for a $32.04 online order for Bob Evans in Beachwood. A potential suspect was obtained by contacting Priceline. The victim will contact her bank with the report number and advise if further police action is required.

The caller would like to report her front license plate stolen. She has been trying to sell her car and has learned that her plate is now registered to another vehicle, even though she still has her rear plate. The complainant stated her front plate was removed from her vehicle about a week and a half ago. She believes it happened at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant. The plate was entered as stolen and she was advised to go to the BMV for new plates.

A female on the line says her boyfriend will not give her the phone back. He is saying that he is going to break it. Officers spoke to the male who stated he was upset because he thinks his girlfriend is having an affair. The female just wanted her phone back and to be left alone for the night. The male agreed to give her phone back and will stay separate for the evening to keep the peace.

Right by the cemetery, landscapers on the scene witnessed a truck stuck at the end of the road causing damage to property. The vehicle causing damage is a large red dump truck with a trailer. Officers assisted with getting the truck and trailer out .

The victim states that person(s) unknown were able to obtain her Social Security number and open a credit card. The victim contacted the credit card company who advised her that the account was opened online in Arizona. The victim was provided the police report number and given an identity theft information packet.

Officers spoke to the caller who stated on Sept. 21 a former employee came into the store asking for change for cash. The male states the cashier at the time gave the male what he requested. The male states the counterfeit bills were unnoticed until they started circulating, and they were getting complaints from customers. The male states they have retrieved a total of three ten-dollar bills but is uncertain how many more are out there due to him not being at work last night. The male will have the general manager call the department tomorrow in reference to this to see if there is camera footage of the incident.

An officer responded to the residence for a report of suspicion. The person reporting stated he returned home to find a vehicle parked in his driveway that appeared to be involved in an accident. The owner of the listed vehicle arrived on the scene shortly after the officers’ arrival and had the vehicle towed from the residence by a private tow. No further police action needed.

A caller is reporting a strong odor of what the caller thinks is a methamphetamines-type smell. There is nothing burning in the area, and it’s not a natural gas or gasoline odor. She noticed the smell today as well as yesterday. The caller is no longer in the area. Officers found no unusual odors in the area.

Officers responded to the area for a report of suspicion. The person reporting stated two black vehicles kept driving by the caller’s house for the past hour. An officer located a black vehicle in the area that was driving slowly down McKinley and a traffic stop was conducted. The male driver stated to officers that he was delivering for DoorDash and was unable to locate the correct address. Officers assisted the male, and the male was sent on his way. Checks OK at this time.

Caller states that last Friday a Census worker came to his house and told him he was not on her list. She said that some of his neighbors were on the list, but they weren’t home. She asked if he could provide her with some of their information, but he did not. The caller is afraid she was not really with the Census. Now yesterday, he received a phone call from someone from the Census stating they needed his Census info even though he’s already submitted his information. The male was advised Census workers were in the area.
