Broadway Avenue (Buyers Choice)
The incident occurred this past Wednesday. A former co-worker assaulted a male by hitting him in the face. No call was made at the time of the incident. The male who was hit would like to file a report. He only knows the first name of the suspect. The male sounded possibly intoxicated. Officers spoke to both parties and a witness at the dealership. The complainant stated the employee struck him in the face and he fell to the pavement causing his facial injury. The witness did observe the assault but felt like the complainant was instigating the fight. Officers will provide statements to all parties involved and follow up when they are collected. On Sept. 26, officers again spoke to the complainant in the lobby in regards to his options. He was again advised to bring in a written statement so the department could forward it to the prosecutor for a ruling. The person suspected assailant also came on station yesterday and provided his account of what occurred. He stated the complainant was holding a screwdriver, “talking crazy” and approached him aggressively in the parking lot. He admitted to hitting the complainant but stated he was unsure of the complainant’s intent with the screwdriver. The statement was added to the report and now the department is awaiting the complainant’s statement to forward to the prosecutor. On Sept. 30 officers spoke to the male complainant over the phone. He was advised to bring a copy of a written statement in so that it could be forwarded to the prosecutor for review. He stated he was “no longer gonna bother with it” and elected not to bring in a written statement. No further police action.

Officers spoke to the male at the business. He stated that several minutes ago, his work bag with his personal hand tools fell out of the back of his truck at Broadway and Grace Street. An unknown female in a Nissan followed behind him and advised him of where it fell out. He quickly returned to the area and could not locate his bag in the roadway. He did note a Dodge leave the area when he got out of his truck to look for the bag. It is unknown if this vehicle actually took the bag. Officers spoke to the manager at PNC Bank who will contact corporate to see if they can pull the camera footage around the time of the call. Officers will follow up if the footage can be viewed. The complainant estimates the total loss to be approximately $1,200 worth of hand tools and the bag itself. Officers checked the area around Turney Road and Lee Road South but were unable to locate a Dodge matching the description given by the complainant.

Officers spoke to a complainant who stated that on Sept. 22, person(s) unknown keyed her car and put a popsicle in her gas tank. She does not know who could have done this but called the management company who told her to file a police report. She believed there was footage of the incident per the management company, but when officers responded to the building, there were none on site. Officers provided her the report number to claim the damages on her insurance.

Broadway Avenue (BP)
Officers responded for a hit-skip accident. Vehicle 1 was traveling south on Broadway and was in the left turn lane at the intersection of Broadway and Rockside Road. The driver of Vehicle 2 attempted to exit the driveway and struck Vehicle 1 on the right side. The driver of Vehicle 2 fled the scene of the accident without exchanging insurance information. Officers attempted to locate the hit-skip vehicle, but were unsuccessful. Officers also checked security video from local businesses in the area, but neither the accident nor the hit skip vehicle were captured on video. Debris on the roadway suggests that the hit-skip vehicle was a silver Nissan with front-end damage.

A drunk 30-year-old female is drunk and is trying to fight people. She is now kicking a door in the house. An officer is requesting a squad for an intoxicated female with asthma who does not have her inhaler.

A female caller wants to report that she and her male neighbor have been having ongoing civil issues for years. She stated that the male yells rude comments to her and her husband when they are outside and wants him to stop. The female was advised on how to obtain a protection order. Officers spoke to the male neighbor and advised him to stop speaking to the female. The male was highly intoxicated and became upset with officers and screamed “f— you guys” before closing the door on theofficers.

The caller is at the father of her 7-month-old’s house and the father is refusing to turn the child over. There is no custody agreement, and the caller got highly irate with dispatch when any further questions were asked. Officials spoke with dad who stated he will turn the child over to the mom.

An officer spoke with the complainant in the police department lobby. She stated that at approximately 1845 hours while at Giant Eagle, persons unknown went into her unlocked vehicle and took a duffle bag containing two pill bottles of Adderall that were prescribed to her. She was given a report number for her records.

Rockside Road (Enterprise Rent-A-Car)
A female complainant is in the lobby of the police department and wants to report that a Hyundai that she rented was stolen by unknown(s) in the parking lot sometime between July 25 and July 26. The complainant advised that the keys were in the center console. When the complainant checked to make sure the vehicle was returned, Enterprise advised that they never got the car. An officer spoke to the manager and viewed the security video. The vehicle was taken from the front lot at approximately 0720 hours. The vehicle is to be entered as stolen. The officer completed a stolen vehicle addendum and will contact the complainant and have them sign the document. Dispatch ran the plate and discovered that the vehicle was logged in Cleveland Heights.

The complainant said her ex-boyfriend called her and told her he was going to shoot her. The complainant has not seen the male for more than two weeks. The complainant was leaving to take her dog to the vet and will stop by the station if she wants to pursue the matter further. The ex-boyfriend made threats to kill both the caller and her current boyfriend. She received these threats over a phone call about four minutes ago. The female evicted this male two weeks ago from the above address. It is unknown where this male is currently living. She stated she does not know if he has actual weapons.

The current boyfriend of the complainant in the previous record called the police to report threats as well. He said his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend threatened to kill him and her. He advised he is not with his girlfriend now, but she texted him and said someone was breaking into her house, and the female is home alone. Officers responded to the residence for a report of a burglary in progress. The person reporting stated a male was possibly breaking into his girlfriend’s residence. Upon arrival, an officer observed a female and male arguing in the front of the residence. The female stated the verbal altercation was regarding the male coming to the residence and due to her having to euthanize their dog earlier today. The female also stated the male was served an eviction notice and will have to vacate the property by Oct. 18. The male stated he was at the residence to give his condolences regarding the dog. The male also stated he did not break into the residence and did use his key to the residence to make entry. The male stated he was aware of the eviction and that he will be removing his property at a later date. Prior to the incident, the female stated the male contacted her and was threatening her. The female stated the male told her via a phone call that she would need to get a protection order soon and that he would harm himself and her. The officers asked the male about the phone call, and he denied saying those things. The female was unable to provide any evidence regarding the communication between the male and admitted to contacting the male prior to euthanizing the dog. Both parties also stated nothing physical occurred and that the altercation was only verbal. The female was given a witness statement to complete and the male declined to complete a witness statement. The female was advised to return the completed statement to the department in order for a prosecutor ruling. At this time, the male agreed to leave for the evening, and the female was advised to contact the police if the issues continue.

The caller is reporting that her husband hit her last night, and it left a mark. She took a picture of the mark. He is not there now. It is just she, her 6-month-old daughter and a friend. Officers responded and spoke with the female for a report of a domestic. The female stated she and her husband got into an argument because of the way she puts their daughter to sleep. The female stated she told him she wanted to spend time alone with their daughter so she can breastfeed her. He did not like this since he already fed her. The female stated that while they were in their bedroom, the male pushed her onto the bed and slapped her left thigh once, causing redness. After the altercation, the female left the room, slept on the couch and has not seen or spoken to her husband since. As of this morning, the redness on the female’s thigh was no longer present. A written statement was obtained and will be forwarded to the prosecutor for a further ruling. Later, the prosecutor ruled insufficient evidence so no charges were filed. Both parties were notified.

The complainant stated she hears voices when she smokes cigarettes by her garage and sometimes while she is in her house. She is unsure if it is in her head or if there are individuals around her home. The female would like special attention around her house during the night.

The caller’s stepson is harassing the caller and the caller’s wife. The male is telling the caller he wants him to kill him. A neighbor called and she is reporting seeing the same thing. She stated that they are standing there talking right now. The neighbor stated that one of the males is pretending to be shot. The caller and his stepson got into a verbal argument. One of the males was lying on the ground upon officers’ arrival and stated that he had a back, neck, shoulder, and mental anguish injuries due to verbal abuse. The male was transported to the hospital. He was told to come up to the police station after he was released if he wished to fill out a statement about the threats he claims happened.

A female is in the lobby of the police department to speak with an officer about fraud that occurred in 2007. The female stated she recently received a notice from her employer and Bedford Municipal Court that her wages would be garnished due to a past due credit card bill. The female stated the credit card is one that she never had possession of. The fraudulent activity started in 2007, and the amount is for a sum of $1,545.35. The female also stated she has had her identity stolen by family members in the past. The female stated she needed the incident documented due to dispute the garnishment with the credit bureau and the court. The female was advised on how to follow up with the court and the credit bureau. Also, she was advised to provide a credit card statement in order for officers to further investigate. No further police action at this time.

A caller was at Walgreens about 20 minutes ago and was attempting to buy cigars. He gave the clerk money for the cigars and then she asked for an ID. The caller did not have it, and he never received the cigars or his money back. He went home so he didn’t get into an altercation with the clerk. The male was later given back his bag of loose change.

Officers spoke to both parties. The female caller stated her husband is on the scene and was unpacking the U-Haul that she was leaving in. Officers advised the male half about what he needed to do for child custody and their divorce. Officers also provided him with statement forms to complete. The female then took their 6-month-old daughter and all her personal property, and left without incident.

The complainant called to report a male and female in the store that were told not to return to the store because of thefts in the past. A new employee at the front of the store did not know they were not allowed inside the store. The manager noticed them exiting. She followed them to a nearby house and watched them walk inside the home. She said the couple left quickly because there was extra staff doing inventory, so every aisle had employees in them. The manager was upset that her employees did not stop them at the door. Employees did not observe the couple conceal any items or leave without paying. The manager stated that she will call the station if the cameras have any evidence. She does not want to press charges for the trespass at this time. The store managers are going to work on a plan to get all employees pictures of the suspects so that they are stopped at the front door.

The complainant states that upon receiving her credit card statement, she noticed that multiple unauthorized transactions had been made by unknown persons through DoorDash. The complainant has already made contact with her credit card company who requested a police report, and she has cancelled the card.

The caller advised that her 15-year-old son is slamming into the walls of the home. The male is upset because his friends are not allowed over. Officers found that the male was calmed down when they arrived.

The caller states that someone stole her bank card and spent hundreds of dollars. She thinks someone from her apartment complex stole it. On Oct. 2, at approximately 0630 hours, the complainant dropped her purse entering her vehicle in the parking lot. She thought she had picked up all of her belongings, but realized later in the day she did not have one of her credit cards. When she looked at her account, she learned someone was using her card fraudulently to make several cash withdrawals totaling $925. The only information about the suspect is a first name. The caller was given the report number so she can file a report with her bank.

A minivan reportedly left towards Warrensville Center Road after a hit-skip. An officer later responded to an address given for the plate provided from the accident. The officer met with the vehicle owner who advised that his vehicle was parked in his garage with a flat tire for the past few days. He stated that he cannot get the spare tire down from under the vehicle. The officer requested to see the vehicle. The owner opened his garage and the officer checked the vehicle, a green Ford. The vehicle had a flat right front tire and appeared to have been parked for awhile. The officer checked the front of the vehicle and could not detect any damage or paint transfer from the struck vehicle. It appears that the plate information was not correct. The officer contacted the complainant and advised them of the finding. The officer returned to the accident location and noticed a camera on a utility pole near the Nissan parking lot on Rockside Road. The camera is located slightly behind the accident crash point and could possibly have video of the incident. The officer will forward a request to lt.

The male stated he would come into the department when it was not raining for better photos of damage to the hood of Dodge and also to provide insurance information.

The caller received a text and said a female made a threat towards the family in reference to what happened yesterday. Officers were at the residence last night for a disturbance. The complainant stated that her son’s child’s mother sent him threatening text messages and she wanted to know her options of what to do. Upon reading the text messages, it seems the female made no direct threats to the male. The male also wanted to know his options regarding custody arrangements. The male was advised to open a case regarding child custody and proceed in that direction with the mother. The caller was advised to call police if the female comes to the house unannounced in the future.

A customer has not returned a short-term loaner car to the dealership. The car has been in the suspect’s custody for over a month per the service manager letter sent in August requesting the car’s return. The service manager located the vehicle in a locked garage on Henry Street. The car responded to a spare set of keys and an alarm fob. The car was gone before the dealership could return to the Henry Street location. The manager is asking for a report and assistance in possibly getting the vehicle back from the location. Officers responded to the address and were unable to locate the vehicle. They then spoke with the complainant at the dealership. He stated they sent a certified demand letter as of Sept. 28. The service manager did go past the address and had a photo (from the street) of the vehicle inside the subject’s garage. Officers left a voicemail for the subject advising him to return the vehicle by Oct. 7 or it will be entered as stolen and he will be criminally charged.

A caller is on the line fighting with a male to leave the house. She is claiming the male punched her in the stomach, and she is pregnant. The female is not answering dispatch questions and continues to fight with the male. No weapons are involved. Officers responded to the residence for the disturbance. The female homeowner and her ex-boyfriend were yelling in the front yard about property and relationship issues. The female claimed the male struck her and pushed her inside the home. She had no visible injuries, and the male stated he was attempting to leave when she would not allow him to exit the residence. He had scratch marks on his back and stated he had to push the female off of him so he could leave. He also denied ever striking her. Officers retrieved the property that started the argument, and the male was trespassed from the property and advised not to return.

An officer observed a male walking behind Bedford High School through a closed rear parking lot. The officer made contact with the male who stated he was taking a “short cut” through the school to get to his girlfriend’s house. The male was identified and found to be EWW with the Cleveland Heights Police Department for drug possession. Cleveland Heights advised the warrant was active but declined to pick up. The male was advised of trespassing and sent on his way.

The gate behind Walmart that goes between Walmart and Willard Avenue is open. It’s not supposed to be left open per the resident caller. The gate appears to be ajar from being bumped by landscapers. An officer secured it as best as they could.

The caller is out of state and wants an officer to call him. The caller’s ex-fiance resides in the caller’s house and has had a guest over that is not welcome to the house. The caller found out the unwanted guest had been at his house for over a week because his ex had told him. Officers responded to the listed address and spoke with the resident and his friend staying in the house. They were advised of the call. The caller was told that officers responded to his house and because his ex-fiance still lives there, and is allowed to have a guest, that the police could not have the male removed.

The caller reported a smaller vehicle is parked in front of her house, unknown description. It is occupied by at least one male who keeps getting in and out of it. He walked up her driveway at one point. She said it has been out there for a long time. An officer attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop. The car is heading down Grand to Broadway Avenue passing Southwick Drive. At Broadway and Grace Street the vehicle crashed. A squad is requested and a female needs extraction from the vehicle. An officer will follow up at the hospital.

A caller stated her ex-boyfriend had somehow gotten into the building and gotten up to her door. He is from out of state. He has been calling and texting constantly. The caller’s 4-year-old is on the scene as well. The male has not been physical in the past but will not leave the caller alone. The caller’s sister is there as well. The male was gone on arrival of the officers, but had left flowers at the door. The female doesn’t feel threatened by him, just doesn’t know why he was there from out of state. She will call if he returns and she needs the police to respond.

A hauling service is at the residence removing a washer and dryer. A male who has been evicted is also at the residence. The washer and the dryer are not his property. The caller is the landlord and is not on the scene but is being advised of this information from the upstairs tenant. This is a civil matter. The landlord and the tenant will have to work out who owns what, and what property the deposit will cover. The mover on the scene has recovered and removed all items he was commissioned to remove.

A male keeps coming in and out of the store all morning harassing staff. Dollar General is advising he is no longer allowed on the property. The male has locked all the doors to the nearby apartment building and no one is able to make contact with him at this time.

Officers were dispatched to Nordham for an alleged suspicion. The female tenant there has been in an ongoing dispute with her landlord. On Sept. 16, a repairman came to the house to do repairs, but did not call the complainant ahead of time. She was upset because he had no paperwork and no visible nametag. He entered her home without her permission and would not leave when asked. He had come two days prior to the agreed upon date. Her county housing worker stated she needs to file a police report in an attempt to move to a new residence. Officers advised her that this is a civil matter and to contact her landlord for any complaints. She also advised that the repair company had apologized and will be handling their employee’s behavior. She was given the report number per her request.
