Turney Road
An officer responded and spoke with a female for a report of identity theft. The female stated she received a phone call on Nov. 6 from an employee at Frontier Utilities (electric company) out of Fort Worth, Texas, and asked if she could confirm the act of opening two accounts with them. The female stated she did not open any accounts. The employee told her that two accounts were opened using her first and last name. The company advised the female to make a police report in order to cancel the accounts. No suspects at this time.

An officer responded and spoke with a female staff member for a report of an assault. The staff member stated on Nov. 6, around 1400 hours, a male resident at the listed address slapped her on the arm and punched her in the chest. He then became more irate and punched another male resident in the nose with a closed fist. The staff member did not have any visible injuries, and the male resident had some redness to his left eye. The male has severe autism and has been involved with multiple altercations/assaults at this address in the past. The staff member stated the male pays to stay at the residence, and the group home management is inquiring about an eviction process. Written statements were obtained, and the staff member was advised for future reference to contact the department if an incident is occurring.

The caller is reporting that a male broke the glass to one of the washing machines approximately one hour ago. The male reportedly picked up and smashed a plastic patio chair, which was in front of the business. The male then walked into the laundry mat and proceeded to kick in the glass window of a front-loading washer. When the male kicked the glass, it did not break or shatter; it stayed intact but fell inside the washer. The caller was not at the establishment at the time the incident occurred. Patrons of the business told the manager what happened when he came in to work. The manager said he will contact the owner and see if the incident was captured on their surveillance cameras and see if the owner wants to pursue the matter if the suspect is identified.

The caller stated that a vehicle swerved into her by the Gasway on Broadway. She stated that the female driver wasn’t looking and knocked into the passenger side of her vehicle. The caller advised that she couldn’t make a report at this time and would come to the station later to make a report.

A caller is reporting three bikes stolen from the carport. They found one by the dumpster. The theft happened sometime either yesterday or today. The caller will meet officers outside. Her bicycle was a men’s, maroon, 26″ mountain bicycle valued at $185. She stated her neighbor’s bicycle was stolen along with hers. That bicycle was a light blue women’s 10 speed valued at $100.The only identifying mark on that bicycle is a white tag on the handlebars she did not remove. Neither bike was locked.

Officers spoke to the male in the lobby in regards to potential harassment he’s receiving. His sister’s ex-boyfriend has been sending threatening messages to him and his sister. She filed a police report in Barberton in regards to the messages she received. The officer in Barberton mistakenly advised the male to come to our department because he was at work when he received the threatening messages to his personal cell phone. He was advised this would be handled by the jurisdiction that he resides in, Barberton. There is no belief that the suspect has anything to do with the business or even knows where the complainant works. He was advised to file his report with Barberton.

Northfield Road (Northdale Club Apartments)
A caller is reporting her son pulled into the parking lot and male pulled out a gun on him. The victim knows the suspect who left in a Saturn towards the gas station. Apparently this is in reference to the victim “dissing” the suspect’s gang. The suspect is an 18-year-old male. The victim does not know where the suspect lives. The victim claims that for unknown reasons, the suspect approached him when he arrived and was sitting in his car. The victim stated that the male knocked on his car window, and he rolled it down. The suspect asked him why he is “dissing his set.” The victim told the male he had no idea what he was talking about. At this time, the victim alleges the suspect produced a semi automatic pistol and pointed it at the victim and told him to stop “dissing his set.” The victim stated the suspect then left. The victim described the pistol as a Glock 19 with a green laser. When asked how he knows it was specifically a Glock 19, he stated he “just knows.” The mom advise that she had heard two gunshots after the son came back into the apartment
In the meantime, about 20-minutes later, the Bedford Police Department received a call from the Macedonia Police Department. Macedonia had taken a 911 call from a male that someone shot at him near an apartment complex on Northfield Road in Bedford. The victim was a different 18-year-old male than the one whose mom had originally called, and he was in a different vehicle. There was also a passenger in this vehicle. The passenger said that they went to the apartments to sell some shoes. He said they were expecting one male to come out, but there were two. The shooting suspect put the gun in the driver side window and pulled the trigger when they put the car in reverse. There is a bullet lodged in the vehicle. Bedford asked Macedonia to hold the vehicle for now.

The driver of the first vehicle stated he was backing out of the drive and was struck by a female driving a Toyota who was backing out of another drive at the same time. The accident caused minor damage. The female fled the scene of the accident without exchanging insurance information. The first driver positively identified the female as the driver of the second vehicle from her BMV photo. Officers made contact with the female, and she was issued a traffic citation for driving under suspension and for hit-skip. The female advised officers that she did not have insurance.

The complainant stated keys are missing for a Nissan Rogue. The complainant reviewed the surveillance video and observed a female exit a dark colored Ford SUV, enter the Rogue and drive away out of the view of the camera. The female returned in the same Rogue shortly after and parked it in the lot. The female then attempted to go into another vehicle before driving off in the Ford she arrived in. The keys to the Rogue are still missing.

A wife and her husband have both been drinking, and she asked him to leave. She locked him out, and he punched out the door window to get back in the house. She would like him to leave for the night. Officers responded to the residence for a report of family trouble. The male party stated he did get angry and while exiting the house he broke the window next to the front door. Both parties stated nothing physical occurred, and both parties appeared to check OK. They both agreed to separate for the evening and to keep the peace.

Someone in a newer Honda Odyssey took a tire from a dealership and is now in the Jay Honda lot next to the FOE. The caller thinks the suspect may be going to the Subaru dealership to take tires from there. The caller didn’t see the theft occur. Another employee saw it, and the caller saw the van drive away. Officers can see the van on Rockside Road approaching Dunham Road. The van was pulled over on Turney and was full of tires. Officers are escorting the suspect to the dealership to return the tires. Officers are attempting to find a victim, if someone wants to charge the suspect. The suspect was advised he is no longer allowed on the property.

A female was reportedly jumped by five other women who are still inside. No injuries reported and no weapons. The female is now inside verbally arguing with the two of them. The caller disconnected. The complainant stated she was jumped by multiple females in the bar. The other females left. The bartender did not see anything except multiple females fighting. The complainant stated she wanted to pursue charges but did not want to complete a statement right now. The bartender said she would talk to her manager tomorrow to try and review the video and call the police if there was anything substantial. The bar closed for the night and everyone left. On Nov. 19 the complainant came into the police lobby for a follow up to her assault report. She completed a statement and stated two females jumped her after a verbal argument that evening. The complainant did not have any visible injuries but mentioned she was struck in the lower back, her hair was pulled and she was unsure which female was the aggressor as everything happened too fast. An officer followed up with the Automile Inn to obtain video footage of the scuffle, but the bartender did not know how to operate the surveillance system.

The complainant stated that she is filing for a divorce and has contacted Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court.

Officers spoke to the complainant in the lobby in regards to a scam. He communicated with a male on OfferUp about purchasing a PS5. The suspect wanted photo proof of an Amazon gift card purchase for $500. Without realizing, the complainant sent the suspect the receipt, which contained the gift card number on it. When the complainant went to meet the suspect to buy the PS5, the suspect never showed and spent the $500 gift card balance. The phone number given to the complainant did not return to any numbers in the system. He was advised to contact Amazon to see if they will reimburse him for the fraud and to see if they can track how the card was spent. He was given the report number for filing.

The caller states he had the neighbor help him fill out the pandemic relief forms and the neighbor has been receiving the benefits on a Chime card. The neighbor has admitted this to the caller. The caller has called Ohio Unemployment and they stated he needs a police report. The caller explained sometime in July, a male who is the son of a female in the apartment complex approached him about signing up for unemployment/COVID benefits. The suspect explained if the male gave him his Social Security card and information he could sign him up for the benefits. The suspect used the information to have the unemployment pay sent to a prepaid Chime card. Ohio Unemployment noticed the fraud and stopped sending the unemployment payments. The total paid out to date has been $1400.

An officer observed an Ohio plate which was showing stolen out of Garfield Heights. By the time the officer turned around to get behind the vehicle, the vehicle fled east on South Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Officers found the vehicle stopped in the roadway running with the keys inside and unoccupied. The vehicle was towed and a phone was taken out of the driver side of the vehicle to be entered into property.

He was upset about not being able to purchase a cigarette. Officers attempted for 25 minutes to get him to leave, and he refused. During the interaction it was obvious that the male has severe mental issues. The male was returned to the jail. In the meantime, officers were able to make contact with his mother who responded to the station and explained to officers about the male’s mental illnesses. The male was transported to Cleveland Clinic – Marymount Hospital. No charges were filed.

A caller, who is no longer, in the area is reporting two cars sitting at Taft Park, and he thinks the cars are involved in drug activity but has no description of the cars. Officers responded to Taft Park for a report of suspicion. Officers located the vehicles, but only one vehicle was occupied. The occupants of the vehicle stated they were just hanging out and watching a movie. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana earlier and due to the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, a search was conducted. Officers located a small amount of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle and on the male passenger’s person. The suspected marijuana was entered into property to be destroyed. The occupants were advised of trespassing and marijuana possession. All occupants were sent on their way.

A patrol vehicle was flagged down by a male that advised his girlfriend called and said someone was knocking on her door. The girlfriend stated that her neighbor was trying the door to get into her apartment. She opened the door, saw her neighbor make a gun with his hand, and he said “I’m going to kill you.” She slammed the door in his face. The neighbor’s apartment is two doors down. The male is in custody and will be charged with menacing.

An officer observed a passenger of an occupied vehicle exit the vehicle at the PNC Bank parking lot and run behind a dealership. The male passenger then returned to the occupied vehicle, and an officer made contact with the male. The male driver stated he was attempting to get money out of the ATM, and his male passenger went behind the business to urinate. A Bedford K-9 arrived on scene and positively alerted to narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and an insufficient amount to be collected of suspected marijuana was located. The male driver was also found to be driving under suspension and EWW with multiple agencies. The driver was advised of his warrants, marijuana possession, and fictitious plates. The male passenger was advised of public urination. The vehicle was turned over to a valid driver and all occupants were sent on their way. Checks OK at this time.

Officers spoke to the complainant in the lobby. She alleged that last night, after closing, she returned her car to Enterprise. Due to there not being drop box, the female allegedly left the keys in the glove box and parked it in front of the building. She signed the stolen vehicle addendum and officers contacted Enterprise about the video footage. The store manager will look through the system to determine if it was dropped off at all, or if indeed unknown person(s) took the unlocked vehicle off the lot after she returned it. Later, officers spoke to the manager about the footage from that night. He stated his risk department will be in contact with him during the upcoming week. When he finds out if the vehicle was taken, officers will have the vehicle entered as stolen. On Nov. 23 the store manager called the police and advised that two male subjects entered the unlocked vehicle and stole it from the lot. An officer completed the incident report.

Officers spoke to a female who stated around 1755 hours on this date, her ex-boyfriend rear-ended her car as he was stalking her. The complainant states that the incident did not cause any damage to her vehicle, but the ex-boyfriend continued to follow her into Oakwood Village. The complainant states once in Oakwood, she pulled up next to an Oakwood police officer, and her current boyfriend got out of the vehicle and opened the door of the police cruiser to get the officer’s attention. In the meantime, her ex blocked her in, got out and started punching her driver side window yelling that he was going to kill her. Once the Oakwood officer got out of the vehicle, her ex-boyfriend fled the scene. There is no vehicle information besides a black sedan that officers were not able to locate. The female just wanted the report on file so she can use it to file a protection order.

A dine and dash just occurred. The bill total was $30.73. The customer’s credit card was run through the machine four times and was declined. The customer stated that he would get cash from his car. The owner followed the male out to the parking lot, and the male got into his car and left without paying. The owner of the restaurant did not wish to pursue the matter any further than letting us know about the theft. The male returned and paid the bill.

A 17-year-old male with a knife has cut himself on his arm and shoulder. He is a Type-1 diabetic and is near the Sunoco station right now. He possibly has low blood sugar. He just took off running again towards the apartment complex. He has on black pants, no shirt, no shoes and is cut all over. The male no longer has the knife, and the caller is looking for it. The caller states the male also suffers from mental issues as well. The juvenile is in custody and was taken to the Bedford Medical Center.

A customer called the dealership and was angry about his vehicle being repossessed. The called said he is going to respond to the store like a terrorist, and it is going to be a bad scene and people are going to get hurt. An officer responded to the dealership and spoke with an employee for a report of threats. The employee stated the male allegedly told an employee that every person who works for the company is a “white demon” and if he was unable to retrieve some belongings from his vehicle, bad things would happen, and people would get hurt. The officer contacted the male who stated he was very upset about the way the company conducts its business, and that he never made any threats. He was advised to not contact the business anymore or face charges.

He was upset about getting the wrong order of pizza. The manager stated that a male with a green jacket, glasses, jeans and red mask came into the store to buy a pizza. The male received his pizza and then got angry that his order was incorrect. The male told the manager that he was going to shoot him and then threw his pizza box across the counter at another employee. The manager was unable to obtain video of the incident but was advised to call police if the male returned. The identity of the male is unknown.

A male just stole a female’s phone and went east on Broadway. The phone is new, and the female doesn’t remember the phone number. Officers responded and spoke with a female for a report of a theft. The female stated at 0800 hours today, she was walking on W. Grace Street near Walgreens. The female alleges while she was swinging her arms with her phone in her hand, a male wearing a black sweatshirt and a black hat stole her phone from her hand. The female did not know the make or model of her phone, nor did she know her phone number. The female was fixated on a different issue in her life and was not concerned about the alleged stolen phone.

Two juveniles were found to be walking north on Broadway and through dealership lots. The male advised officers of his correct name but did not know his address. The female gave officers a fake name and incorrect address. Officers were eventually able to locate the female’s correct information and return her to the custody of her adult brother. The juvenile male was turned over to his mother.

A male carrying a tablet has been walking up and down the street for the past four hours. The male is from Direct Energy and was advised of soliciting. An officer also spoke with the male’s supervisor and advised him to obtain a permit.

The caller states that someone just drove past her house and threw something out of the car. She does not have a vehicle description but thinks that she knows who it was. A recent death has caused issues between family members. They believe a relative threw something at their house because they were upset about not being invited to the funeral. It is unknown what was thrown at the house.

Northfield Road (Northfield Park Apartments
A male is calling and advising that there is a lot of activity going on around the building inside and out, and it is making the caller uncomfortable. The caller would like to speak with an officer. Officers responded to the residence for a report of suspicion. The male stated he has frequently been hearing people outside his door and in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Officers checked the interior and exterior of the apartment complex and did not locate any persons. It checks okay at this time. The male was advised to contact the police if the issues continue.
