The caller is an employee with the school. He advised that someone hacked into their software and changed an employee’s bank account. He needs to make a report. An employee received a phishing email, opened the email and her banking information for her direct deposit paycheck was changed. The tech for the school detected this and stopped the attempted fraud.

The caller said he and his ex recently broke up, and tonight he came home to damage done to belongings inside his apartment. The male’s ex boyfriend still has a key and is still on the lease agreement.

The caller states there were three people trying to fight, and then they got into a red Ford Fusion and a blue Toyota and left. The caller states the subjects threatened the bar owner. They also stated they are going to come back with their dad. Officers spoke with the owner and the parties were advised not to come back. The owner wanted officers to be aware, and if the parties come back, they will call back.

A male is in the police department lobby and advised he located a female at five points. He does not know who she is, and she is incoherent. The male was not cooperative to get more information. A female called advising she picked the incoherent female up near Burger King and dropped her off at the police station. Now, she discovered that the female left her phone and vape in the car and is refusing to bring it to the station. A squad is being called for the female. She hit her head against the floor in the police department lobby.

The victim stated that on 03-10-23 she was contacted by the Bedford City School District that her pay check was waiting to be picked up. This was not normal due to her setting up direct deposit with her bank. While speaking with the employee, the victim learned an unknown person(s) gained access to her payroll account, closed the account and then opened another account to have the paychecks deposited in. Because of the prevalence of cyber fraud and identity theft, the payroll company has a policy that whenever an employee changes a checking account which is being used to deposit paychecks, the same employee has to first pick up a physical check at the bank. A subpoena was sent to the bank for account information.

The complainant stated that on 02-26-23 at around 1600 hours, she parked her vehicle in a marked spot at the complex where she was visiting a family member. As she was leaving, the front bumper got caught up on a piece of rebar sticking up from the parking block causing damage to the bumper. She received an estimate of $1,722.17 for the damage. Photos were taken. She was advised of her civil options and given the report number.

An officer spoke with a mother and daughter in the lobby. The mother stated her daughter sent her a text message today from school indicating she is scared to go with her father. Yesterday, her father picked her up from school and was angry with her. She stated he took her phone from her and squeezed her cheek. She stated his nail hurt her cheek. She also stated he began to punch her. She did not show any signs of physical abuse. The mother stated today her daughter is to be with the father per the visitation, but she does not want to go. She was advised to go to domestic relations court and have visitation reevaluated. The father came to the police station to file a report regarding the custody of his daughter. He stated he has custody of his daughter Sunday through Thursday. He went to pick her up from school today and she wasn’t there. He stated the mother is manipulating to keep her from him. The male was questioned about the alleged physical altercation, which he denied. He was advised to speak with domestic relations.

Officers spoke with a complainant in the lobby who was the victim of a domestic violence incident in Bedford in 2010. The complainant states that on 3-15-23, while at Sunoco gas station on Turney Road, she recognized friends of the male who was involved in the domestic violence incident. The complainant doesn’t know the names of the males, but believes she overheard the males calling her a “b—-.” The male who was involved in the original domestic violence incident was in no way involved. The complainant states she would just like this documented in case something happens.

Officers responded to Infinity Nails for a report of a female leaving without paying. Upon arrival to the business, officers spoke with the manager who advised that after all work was done on the female, she refused to pay and rushed out the door. The manager took pictures of the female and the vehicle she was driving before she was able to leave the parking lot. The vehicle was a rental, and officers were able to identify the driver. While on patrol, officers observed the vehicle traveling north on Center Road, and a traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle. The driver admitted to leaving the business without paying and agreed to return to the business to take care of her bill. Officers followed the female back to the business where she paid her bill and was advised not to return. Management would not like to pursue the matter further.

An officer spoke with the complainant who advised that several of her bank accounts and credit cards had been compromised. The complainant stated an unknown person in New York made transactions using “Apple Pay” and “Samsung Pay.” The complainant recently traded in an old phone at Verizon four weeks ago and believes that her information may have been taken off the phone. The complainant has already contacted all of her banks and credit card companies to report the fraud and was issued new cards and bank numbers. She was advised also to contact the credit bureau and Social Security to make sure there are no additional compromises.

There was a verbal argument between parents and daughter. The daughter was upset due to her mother wanting to take away a credit card. The mother stated that her daughter at one point began to swing towards her and her husband in an attempt to get away. The parents then held their daughter down to stop her from attempting to hit them. When the daughter was allowed up, she ran out of the house. At some point prior to leaving, the daughter grabbed a kitchen knife to take with her. The mother stated it would be best for her daughter to go to her grandmother’s for the night, and the daughter agreed. Officers transported the daughter and turned the knife over to the grandmother.

A caller stated that there were a lot of boys fighting. Two shots were heard while at the light. The caller stated that there were a bunch of parents jumping out of cars running towards the kids. Officers responded to the area for a fight but all parties involved were gone. Officers checked the area for an orange vehicle which was believed to be operated by the parties involved in the fight, but they were unsuccessful in locating the vehicle. At this time, there are no signs of any weapons being involved.

The manager stated that a temp employee took three books of lottery tickets (valued at $1750) that had been activated. This occurred around 1115 hours. The Ohio Lottery sales rep for the store was able to deactivate the tickets but stated some had been cashed prior to his action. The market manager was not on the scene, but she informed the store manager that she will reach out to the temp agency to verify the temp’s identity. The store manager stated that it will be up to the market manager to pursue criminal charges. Video was obtained of the theft, and the market manager should be in on Monday.

The caller states someone stole his coat off his chair, and his car keys were inside the coat. The male states his car is still there. He was able to locate a second key for his vehicle and was able to take his vehicle home. A jacket, credit card and key fob are missing. It is unknown at what time the jacket was taken, and who took his jacket. The bar was unable to check the cameras until the next day.

Officers spoke to the male caller who explained the female friend he had been letting stay in his home was intoxicated and trying to fight him. The male stated he was asleep when she came up into his room and began kicking him in the back over relationship conflicts. The male advised they went downstairs, and she continued to try and fight with him, resulting in the caller trying to restrain the female. The caller advised he took the female’s phone due to her attempting to call other persons to his residence. Both parties involved were intoxicated. The caller was advised that the female will have to be evicted from the residence if he wants her to leave. The female was unsure about pursuing any criminal charges and was advised to fill out a statement and return to the police department if she wished to do so. The female did have small red marks on her chest area, which the caller advised was from him pushing her off of him. The female agreed to leave to keep the peace.

The female followed him from Cleveland to his brother’s home on Nordham Drive. The male advised this is normal for the two, and he just wished for her to leave. Officers spoke with the female who was highly upset. The female stated originally that the entire incident happened in Cleveland, and that she was assaulted. Officers advised the female that a report for the assault would have to be made in Cleveland, after which she stated it instead happened listed address. Photos were taken.

Officers found the male, who claimed he was looking for a friend’s house. He is visually impaired. He was advised of the complaint and told to stick to the sidewalks.

An officer responded to the listed address and spoke with the complainant. She advised that an unknown male came into the store, purchased a bag of chips and the complainant gave him his change for approximately 85 cents. The male then stated to the complainant that he had fifteen cents and wanted a dollar back instead of the change. The male was advised by her that she could not reopen the drawer without another transaction and could not complete his request for his preferred change return. The male became irate and started to yell and use profane language toward the complainant. He then dumped over a display of charcoal bags and lighter fluid within the entryway of the business. The complainant recorded the male’s vehicle registration, which returned to a female. The male was unable to be identified. Photos of the damage and suspected male were entered into the report.

The male then left the area prior to officers arrival after damaging the door. At this time, the female did not wish to pursue criminal charges and just advised she wanted the incident documented. The female did complete a witness statement regarding the incident and photographs were taken of the damage.

The female then left the store and got into a black Mitsubishi and left the area. The employee states the total lost was approximately $30. The caller just wants a report on file and will call back if the female returns.

A male and female had an argument over their 6-year-old son’s cell phone that turned into a physical altercation. Both parties agreed that they were having a heated discussion near or in the female’s car in the parking lot of the listed address. Both agree that the male began walking back up towards the building entrance, but after this point the statements begin to differ. The male stated as he was walking to the building, the female began striking him from behind in his face multiple times. The male turned and yelled out for people to look, at that he was calling the police. The male stated the female grabbed his cell phone and purposely snapped it in half. From what can be ascertained, by this point the two had entered the vestibule area of the building. The male stated the female grabbed him around his neck. The male stated he swung around until the female flew off hitting the wall in the vestibule. The male stated that he was released earlier in the day from the hospital with a pinched nerve in his neck which made the interaction painful and difficult. The male stated this is when a hole in the wall occurred. The male stated the female tried to pull him outside, but as he yanked backwards, she grabbed him around the neck again. The male stated this is when they were cheek to cheek and he bit at her left cheek to get her off of him. The male stated the female did let go shortly after, and they were able to separate. The male stated he was unsure if he wanted to pursue any charges. The male had a scrape to his left cheek and what appeared to be bruising to his neck. The female stated that as the male was walking away he spit on her through her open window. The female stated she exited her car, and as she approached him, he began punching her. The female stated she grabbed ahold of the male and accidently broke his phone as the two were in the physical altercation. The female stated that during the physical altercation the male threw her into the wall causing a laceration to her right forehead area. During the physical altercation, the female stated she was bit on her left cheek and also suffered scratches to the same area. The female had a small visible bump on her upper lip and stated there was a lump above her left ear. The bump was not visible due to her hair. The female stated she was able to get away shortly after and return to her car. She states the male returned to her car, got in the passenger seat and continued arguing. Once the female called her boyfriend and father, she states the male finally returned to his apartment. The female does wish to pursue charges. Due to the differing statements about who may be the primary aggressor and the visible injuries, all info will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review of charges. Charges to be reviewed are domestic violence against either or both parties involved. Later, the prosecutor was unable to determine the primary aggressor. No charges have been filed at this time.

An officer spoke with the complainant who advised an unknown person had his personal information and had taken $2,000 from him. The male was applying for jobs when an “employer” advised he would hire him. The “employer” advised he would hire him once the caller sent over personal information. Once the male was hired the “employer” sent the complainant a check for $6,296. The employer advised there was a mistake and needed $2,000 of that returned. The complainant sent the $2,000 prior to finding out the check he was sent was fraudulent.

The complainant called reporting that for the second time today, the same male, carrying a reusable bag, came into the store and stole a phone charger. He left on foot toward Burger King. An officer spoke to the complainant who advised that the same male was in the store earlier and possibly took items, but when he returned a little while ago, she noticed that he had a reusable bag. The complainant asked him to leave the bag by the registers but he ignored her request. The male walked to the area of the pop coolers and the cell phone accessories rack. She observed him looking at the cell phone charging cords. When the male was exiting the store, the sensors alerted to an item that was not deactivated. The complainant stated that she also observed a black colored item in the bag (possible sweatshirt). The complainant asked the male if he took the cell phone charging cord, and he said no but was bothered by her asking and gave her a stern look causing her to become afraid of him. The male then left the store. The complainant is not able to work the camera system and advised that the manager would have to check the video.

The complainant was advised of it being a civil matter and was given her available options. She also stated that she was struck by the daughter three weeks ago. No injuries were observed.

An officer spoke with the complainant, and he advised that on 03-23-23 the listed male was observed placing $40 in cash in his pocket. The complainant stated the male then went to a bank to deposit the business checks. A deposit was made, and then a withdrawal was conducted for $200. The suspected male denied any wrong doing to the complainant. The complainant was given a statement to complete.

An employee saw the truck and noticed it did not have a rear license plate on it anywhere.

Security is stating two females assaulted him, and they are now in a white SUV in the parking lot. The caller is in a black jacket and gray pants. He does have a firearm on his left hip. The females were causing an altercation inside the bar, and when security attempted to escort them out, they began to resist, ripping the security guard’s jacket. He was forced to use pepper spray on the two females who ended up leaving the bar without further incident. They were still on the scene upon officers’ arrival and were advised they are no longer allowed to return to the bar. No further police assistance was required.

The caller stated that her ex-boyfriend just called and advised that he was going to come and shoot up her house. An officer responded to the listed address and spoke with the complainant. She stated that the listed male has been sending her several unwanted text messages, making threats to come to her home. The male was contacted by the officer and was advised not to contact the complainant any more. He stated that he would comply. A 16-year-old female juvenile was involved in an argument with family. She refused to get into the vehicle and leave with her mom. She finally got into the vehicle so her mom could drive her home to Westlake. After officers left the scene, the juvenile got out of the vehicle and fled on foot in an unknown direction. Mom called police again to report her leaving and was advised if she wanted her entered as missing, she needed to respond to the police department to fill out the missing juvenile paperwork. She stated she would come in later if her daughter does not show up.

Officers responded to the residence for a report of a domestic. The male person reporting advised dispatch that his ex-girlfriend threw hot grits on him causing injury to his right arm. Officers made contact with the female who advised the male was never at her residence today, and that the last time he was present at her residence she contacted the police department to have him removed. The female advised he does not reside there and has since moved out. The male was found to not be present at the residence. An officer attempted to contact the male, but was unsuccessful in making contact. No message was able to be left due to the male not having a set up voicemail. The female appeared to be just waking up for the day and did not appear to be involved in any form of physical altercation.

An officer spoke with the female complainant regarding damage to a Kia Optima caused from an attempted auto theft. The female complainant advised she is not the registered owner but is the primary driver. The female stated sometime overnight between 03-26-2023 and 03-27-2023, an unknown suspect(s) broke out her passenger side rear window gaining entry into the vehicle. The unknown suspect(s) then peeled the steering column but were unsuccessful in stealing the listed vehicle. Photographs of the damage were taken. The complainant was advised to have the registered owner return to the police department to pick up a steering wheel lock if she wishes.

The complainant advised she sent the Cash App account $250 for a deposit and $30 for an application fee. The complainant stated on 03-28-2023 she went to the listed address to meet someone, but no one showed and that the residence is vacant. At this time, the complainant does wish to pursue criminal charges for theft if able. A subpoena will be sent to Cash App to attempt to obtain identifying information for the person who received the funds. (jf)

Officers checked the area for the juveniles and located them heading south on Northfield Road. Two of the male juveniles ran and one female juvenile stopped to speak with officers. She admitted to kicking the door and apologized. Officers spoke with the juvenile’s mother and advised her of the incident.
