BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio – As reported by Cleveland 19 News, U.S. Marshals have announced the arrest of 20-year-old DaTwaun Diamond in connection to the deadly gas station shooting in Bedford Heights that claimed the life of 19-year-old La’Quan Evans. According to a news release, Diamond was apprehended on Tuesday from a residence on Case Court in Cleveland.

Bedford Heights Police Department had been actively seeking Diamond for the murder of Evans, who tragically died on March 30 at MetroHealth Medical Center after sustaining gunshot wounds at the Libby Gas Station. Authorities stated that Diamond was captured on surveillance footage prior to the shooting, leading to the release of his photos during the search.

Following the shooting, Diamond fled the gas station, prompting the issuance of a warrant for his arrest. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot commended the efforts of law enforcement, stating, “The fugitive investigation for this violent suspect ended with a safe arrest for everyone involved. The city of Cleveland has one less violent individual out there because of the hard work of the men and women of our task force.”
