Canning 101
Saturday, August 10, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Adults
Preserving the fresh taste of the summer harvest by canning is a rewarding experience, and well worth the time and effort. Learn the basics of canning with an emphasis on hot-water bath canning, the method used for jams, jellies, salsas and other high-acid foods. MUST REGISTER

African American Authors Book Group

VolunTEENs at Southeast: helping with the Ice Cream Social
Thursday, August 15th, 6:30 – 8:45 p.m., Grades 6-12
Teens will be helping with the Friends of the Southeast Library Ice Cream Social. Teens will be helping with setting up, scooping ice cream, serving toppings, cleaning up, etc. Please contact the Teen Librarian to sign up for a 1-2 hour shift. Participants will be contacted with further details closer to the date. VolunTEENs is a monthly club for teens interested in volunteering, having fun and making friends while collaborating on activities that benefit the library and surrounding community. MUST REGISTER
