Bonnieview Drive (South Haven Woods Retirement)
Officer spoke with a male in the lobby for a report of damage to property. The male stated that he was visiting his mother at South Haven Woods on 12/16/19. He stated that between 8 p.m. and midnight, his truck was spray painted. He noticed the damage when he was leaving South Haven just after midnight. The male stated that the woman who spray painted his truck is his nephew’s ex girlfriend. Police will follow up on 12/20/19.

Resident is advising that she has been through her house and she is stating that someone broke into her house. They got in through the back door. Caller states that she believes that she knows who did it. The possible suspect is the caller’s ex-boyfriend. Caller states that the male asked her for the items yesterday and those are the items missing — jewelry and Gucci belts. A Nissan is the only vehicle in the driveway, and it belongs to the caller. Officers responded to the listed address and spoke with the complainant. Evidence swabs were taken of the suspected areas of contact and a list of items taken was completed by the complainant. Police to follow up.

Caller states neighbor down the street has used her info to fraudulently try to obtain a credit card. Officer responded to the above address to speak with the caller. Caller stated she was advised by her credit card company that an individual had attempted to receive a new credit card in her name on 11-6-2019. When the complainant contacted the company, they stated someone attempted to take out $500.00 multiple times at a Save A Lot. On the same date,$202.00 was attempted to be taken out from Mr. C’s Food Mart. These two locations are 1.6 miles away from one another. Complainant strongly believes it could be her old nurse aide that worked for her in her home, who had access to her personal information. The individual quit working for her three weeks ago after a falling out. The person’s information was added to this report.

Broadway Avenue (Al’s Train and Hobby Shop)
Theft occurred at 1105 hours. Store owner has it on video and can show officers. Two unknown males came into the store and purchased approximately $500 dollars worth of goods each. One of the males grabbed a train from the shelf that was not paid for and put it in the box of items he already purchased and left the store. Total amount of the theft is approximately $335. The theft was captured on video.

Officers spoke with the complainant who stated that after a verbal argument, her boyfriend strangled her and she bit him. Female states the male is trying to kick her out of the home but she has nowhere to go. Complainant did not want to press charges, and there were no signs of a physical altercation. The male states that there was no physical altercation, but agreed to leave the property for the night.

Caller reports that while he was at the VFW Hall on 12/18/19 he got into a verbal argument with another member over the harsh language that was used. During the argument, the other man threatened to kill the caller and attempted to charge at him while being held back. Caller does not wish to pursue any criminal charges, but wanted the information on file. Caller does not know anything about the other man besides his name.

Officer spoke to a male complainant in the lobby regarding fraudulent activity on his bank account. The male stated on 12/17/2019 he lost or had his wallet stolen at Bedford High School during a basketball game. The wallet was a men’s black Timberland wallet containing his debit card, Social Security card, driver’s license and approximately $10 in cash. The male stated shortly after leaving the game he noticed his wallet was gone and he began receiving alerts on his phone that his card was being used. The fraudulent purchases on his debit account were for $39.92 dollars at a gas station in Cleveland and a $126 purchase on “G-Star” online store. The male stated he contacted “G-Star” but was unable to obtain any information regarding a shipping address for the purchase. The male also stated he contacted his bank who stated he can dispute the charges once a police report is filed. The male stated he already cancelled his debit card and the officer advised him to contact the BMV in order for them to put an alert on his record. Later am officer followed up with a “G-Star” representative regarding the fraudulent purchase. The representative stated the officer will have to contact the company’s fraud department in Amsterdam. The representative was unable to give a contact number for the department. Also, the representative stated if the complainant did dispute the charge then the order will not be processed. The officer then followed up with the complainant who stated the bank did refund him the money for the fraudulent charges and he is in the process of being issued a new debit card. The complainant was advised to contact the police if he obtains any further information or if he notices any more fraudulent activity.

Union Street (Education Alternatives School)
School is getting strange phone calls referencing a former student. Caller is the director of the school and is concerned about the voicemails and safety of the student. An unknown person has called the school on four separate occasions. The male has asked to speak with someone at the school in regards to a former student, who does not attend EA currently. The voicemail left was not threatening and asked to see if is still enrolled in the school. A staff member attempted to call the aforementioned phone number, but there was no answer and no way to leave a message. Police advised the caller to see if they could block the number. The caller only wanted the incident documented.

The complainant had a Christmas package sent from her aunt in North Carolina. The package contained a $75 gift card to Dillards, pajamas, a blanket and some Christmas candy. The package was sent on 12/11 and has yet to be delivered. The aunt mistakenly sent it to the wrong house. The aunt can’t provide the complainant with a tracking number to determine if the package has been delivered or not. The complainant spoke to her neighbor and that person stated she would give her the package should it arrive. The complainant will contact us if she can find a tracking number to prove it was delivered in Bedford. Caller is sure her neighbor has her package and won’t return it.

Caller is advising that someone ordered cable and internet service in her name. Caller states that she has been having issues with a neighbor stealing packages and has made reports regarding this with the police. Caller states she spoke with AT&T and was able to cancel the order, but needs to make a report. The caller was contacted by AT&T about an order on her account for new service. She already has internet and cable service at her residence and said somebody was using her account number and name fraudulently. She believes her neighbor is the person responsible for the action. AT&T advised caller to file a police report to document the activity.

The complainant reports her sister sent her a package via UPS. The package was delivered on 12-13-2019, but the complainant never received it. The complainant believes person(s) unknown took the package from her front porch. The package contained 16 red and green hand-made napkins. The complainant was unable to value the contents due to them being hand-made. The complainant contacted UPS and advised them of the theft.

Female complainant wanted to report that her car battery was taken out of her vehicle over night along with her rear license plate. Female stated the car was towed last night and brought back to Always Towing around 1900 hours. Female stated she was upset with the tow company, and was advised of the civil issues. The tow company replaced the battery. Stolen plate addendum was signed and the Ohio plate was entered into leads. Cameras are available of the tow yard but employees did not know how to work them. The person in charge of the cameras is going to check the cameras and notify officer if he finds anything of value.

Male came into the station to report he attempted to pick up his son and the mother refused to turn him over. He was able to show court paperwork indicating the father has visitation Sunday-Wednesday. Police left a message for the mother to call back. The complainant was advised this information would be documented. The mother called back. She stated she will not turn her son over to the father because now it’s Monday and he was supposed to get him on Sunday. She was advised according to the visitation paperwork he is supposed to have him. She stated she didn’t care. Information on file.

Caller’s boyfriend tore up the house today and took the caller’s phone and left the residence. The male left in a silver Dodge. There was a verbal argument between the boyfriend and girlfriend over her going out of town with her friends. The boyfriend threw some items around the house and left in his vehicle. The cell phone was located in the house. Officers spoke to the boyfriend who stated that he would not return for the night and would attempt to make peace after they both cool off.

Officers responded to a damage to vehicle call. The complainant and vehicle owner stated that sometime overnight person(s) unknown took a large rock from the parking lot and damaged her vehicle. The complainant has no leads on who could’ve possibly done this to her vehicle. There are no cameras on the building or anywhere in the area. Officers took photos of the damage and provided her with the report number for insurance purposes. The complainant checked inside the vehicle and noted that no property was removed from the car. Officers attempted to speak to several neighbors in the area, but no one saw or heard anything.

A 17-year-old states that her grandparents locked her out and are refusing to let her inside. Officers spoke to the grandparents who stated the female returns all hours of the night and disrespects them. They were advised of options for when she turns 18 and also advised they can not lock her out of the house. All parties agreed to go to their rooms for the night to keep the peace.

Officers spoke to a female complainant in the lobby about an ongoing custody issue over her son. The female showed officers documentation explaining the child needs to be returned to the mother. Officers went to the house where the father is living with the child and retrieved the child without incident. Both parties were advised of the civil issue and to provide their documentation to the next hearing which is on January 3rd.

Caller stated that she left for work around 8:15 this morning and returned home shortly before calling dispatch. When she returned home, she noticed her side door had a missing outside doorknob and the door was open. Caller cleared the house prior to police arrival and stated she did not need them to clear it. She also stated that nothing was taken or manipulated with throughout the house. A photo of the door was taken. There is nothing further at this time.

Officers spoke to the female who stated she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. The female states she broke up with her boyfriend and went to retrieve clothes from him. She states she entered his car to go to his house when they started to verbally argue. The female then states as they were on the highway, the male struck her three times. She states she then got out of the vehicle and walked to the nearest home to the highway to charge her phone to be able to call 911. She went to Cleveland Police first who stated she needed to come to Bedford. Officers attempted to call the male and a voicemail was left. Male never returned phone call to officers. Officers will follow-up.

Female’s 6-year-old son is at his father’s house home alone with another child. He called his mother because he is scared. There are three other children in the home with him, but the caller does not know how old they are. The female is in Garfield Heights and can’t get a ride at this time. The father and his wife will not answer her calls. House looked dark and no movement or noise was heard inside.

Officers responded for a report of two persons who just robbed Circle K at gunpoint. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate any suspects. Northfield k9 was called for a track that ended around Free Lane in Oakwood. Officers responded back to the location and collected statement forms from both employees working at the time and also DNA swabs of possible places and items touched by suspects. Officers also collected elimination swabs from both employees and the manager was able to provide a copy of the camera footage of the robbery. One of the clerks was found to be eww out of Oakwood Village. Oakwood Village PD responded to Circle K and took the clerk into custody.

Stolen vehicle reported at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Officer spoke to female renter, and she stated by the end of the day today she will return the vehicle. Officer followed up with Enterprise and told them the car was left at Mentor Mall, but the keys to the vehicle were dropped off. Manager stated he will go and pick up the vehicle. Manager was advised to notify police if vehicle is not there.

Male reporting he thinks someone is in his house. The door is open. He can hear footsteps and it sounded like someone cocked a gun. Male reporting he saw doors to the downstairs and upstairs bedrooms moving. He is hiding in the upstairs bedroom. Caller is a 15-year-old male. Dispatch requesting Bedford to respond since MHPD cannot respond. Caller thinks he can still hear footsteps in his brother’s room. His brother is in the basement. Caller now thinks that there are multiple people around his house. He can hear what he thinks is a truck pulling up. Officers are out with the juvenile. They will have him in the back of a car as they perform a search of the interior. Officers advised the home is clear.

Officers responded for a possible open door. A contractor working nearby noticed what he believed was a kicked-in door at the rear of the building. It was, in fact, a large window with a door propped up against it from inside the building. The property manager responded and officers checked the address but found no new damage or property missing. The building was re-secured and checked OK.

Officers spoke with the complainant who stated that while playing Xbox, a male that her son knows from school threatened to kill her son. The complainant requested officer’s presence as she attempted to make contact with the boy’s parents. The downstairs unit was found to be vacant. The complainant did not wish to press charges but wanted the incident documented. She was advised to make the issue known to the school officials.

A male wearing a black jacket, brown cap and a necklace with a lock on it will not leave after being asked several times. Library staff stated that the male came into the library and immediately began arguing with another patron. The other patron did not know him. Library staff asked him to leave and he refused to do so. Officers spoke with him and he made several strange comments to officers and was not acting rationally. Male was told to leave the property and he did so walking. The library staff stated that they have had problems with him in the past. They will also attempt to send a notice to him about causing disturbances in the library which may cause him to be banned from the property.

A female wearing a long coat with red wool cap came across caller’s desk and was grabbing paperwork and pushed caller. Female is currently in the front of the building, on the dealership floor. Caller advising they had an issue with the female last week also. The complainant stated that female purchased a vehicle from Auto World with a warranty. The car is having engine problems. The warranty requires female to pay $400 to start the repair work on the vehicle. Female is refusing to pay. She initially refused to identify herself, however officers were able to successfully identify her. The complainant wanted the female to leave the property for the day and she could call tomorrow to check on the progress of the repairs on her vehicle. Female left and walked to Walgreens.

Caller is in the lobby to report a burglary that took place at this location. He claims to know who did this, and also stated this was his mother’s address, not his. She is not at the station with the caller. This officer spoke with the complainant who stated that his mother was home last night and her ex-boyfriend forced his way into the home with another unknown male. The female came into the station and stated that her ex-boyfriend and another male entered her home and then went into her bedroom. The ex-boyfriend began yelling at her, spit on her, and kicked her TV. The ex then left the house when the female’s roommate offered to give both males a ride home. The female said she did not contact police in fear of retaliation. Female was told to talk with her son and decide how they want to proceed with this incident. As of now, the female wants it to be documented only. The son has video surveillance of the ex-boyfriend and other male in his mother’s room and was told to email the video to police. The female stated that there was no forced entry to her home and that entry may have been made through an unlocked door. There is nothing further at this time.

Police asked for a squad to evaluate the intoxicated male. Manager says there’s a man in the store who has not left despite his order to do so. He looks homeless and the manager gave him some food, but the man continues to ask customers for money and ask employees if he can use their cell phones. All Maple fire apparatus is out on another call. Man was complaining of stomach pain. The bedford squad will transport him to Bedford Medical Center.

Caller states that female is breaking stuff and kicking doors. It’s unknown if weapons are there. She just hit the caller with a broom. Female possibly has been drinking. No weapons in the home and caller does not need a squad. Female had a brick, but it is unknown where it is now. The male and female gave conflicting statements as to what took place. The female decided to leave with the three children to keep the peace.
