Male reporting a landscaper cutting grass and making excessive noise. Checks OK. The landscaper was advised that per ordinance, he’s OK to start work after 7 a.m.

Location: Kenyon Avenue and Eldred Avenue
Between Grand Avenue and Center Street, 12 kids, both male and female, are in a disturbance. It is unknown if there are any weapons. It looks they are fighting. They are in the front yard. They arrived on bikes and have backpacks on. There were a few juveniles arguing in the area. They were all advised to head home.

Caller states there is a female and a male are fighting and pushing each other in the middle of the street at the intersection. Officers found the subjects were arguing over relationship issues. They were advised to go home and keep the peace.

Female was screaming for help. A male took the phone from her and hung up. Officers are out with the couple. The female was upset about the male going out last night and accused him of cheating on her. The two began to argue. There were no signs of physical violence. The male agreed to leave to keep the peace.

Complainant called to report on a male who comes to the establishment and bothers people. The caller is an employee. He was advised to have the owner contact the police to have this individual banned from the property. A female advised that the male in question has asked her to have sex with him. She is not interested in this. She was advised to contact the police if this male comes around her and bothers her again.

A female would like to report that yesterday, a daycare employee struck her 9-year-old son. Her son is with her. The complainant stated that on 7/10/19 her son was having a behavioral episode at the daycare. During the course of his tantrum, the complainant stated that her son spat on an employee of the daycare. In return the employee smacked her son with a open hand on her son’s right cheek leaving a hand print. The complainant stated that she spoke with the supervisor at the daycare about the issue on the date of the incident. The complainant notified Children and Family Services about the incident, and she has consulted with an attorney. At this time the complainant just wants the incident on file with the police department. A phone message was left for management at the daycare to contact the department. According to the manager of the daycare, an employee was attempting to talk with the 9-year-old to calm him down. The employee was sitting on a chair speaking with the 9-year-old when the boy spat in his face. In a reactionary response, the employee smacked the boy across the face. The manager stated that the employee did not act with malice in striking the boy. The manager stated that the employee has been suspended from work for one week. She also stated that she will be scheduling classes for staff so that they may receive adequate training in dealing with youth who have behavioral issues.

Female advising contractors were blocking her driveway. She states they are no longer blocking her driveway, but that her husband is outside talking to them. She states she doesn’t know if they’re arguing or not. Female and male tenants were advised of their civil options. The car was moved prior to officer arrival and there was no argument while officers were on scene. The contractor was working on a garage well out of the way of any tenants.

Caller left her home out of fear, saying her son has been threatening her with violence and damaging her home and car. He is a 20-year-old. She’d agreed to let him live there for the summer but he’s out of control, and she wants him to leave tonight. Officers will be in route over to the residence to talk to the son. There was no answer at the door. They contacted caller and see if she is responding to the house. Caller stated she is almost to the residence. Officer advised that he is transporting son to the station to charge his phone and to separate the two for a bit. Both parties claimed that the other threatened to destroy their property. The complainant’s son agreed to leave the house to keep the peace. The complainant was advised that she would have to formally evict him through the court. The complainant took his key and refused to give it back. She was advised that officers would not prevent him from returning to his residence. Both were strongly advised to keep the peace.

Caller states there’s a gray car with the doors wide open parked in the parking lot. The rear passenger door is open. You have to pull into the lot to see it. Officers report there is a baseball game going on. Parents are watching the game and going back and forth between vehicles. Checks OK.

There is a female in the police lobby who needs to file a report about threats. Her adult son is addicted to heroin. He does not live in Bedford, but he recently had his cell phone taken by drug dealers. They mentioned to him that they now have his family’s information. Recently, the complainants phone rang. She stated the only thing she could understand was something about two weeks from now. She is not sure if this related to her son’s issues or not. She was advised to contact us if she notices anything suspicious around her home.

Bedford units copied radio traffic of a disturbance in the jail.

Caller is in lobby with his 12-year-old daughter who stated that her brother hit her. Complainant reports that his daughter recently told him that her 27-year-old brother slapped her in the face when he was drunk while they were staying at their mom’s house sometime in March/April 2018. The complainant wanted the incident documented for information purposes for the social worker assigned to their case.

Juvenile disturbance reported; attempting to locate the parents. An 8-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy got into a physical fight on the playground and sustained minor cuts and scrapes. Both were turned over to a guardian.
Friday, July 13 reports

Location: Harrison Street (Ganley Storage Lot)
Two parties were fighting, but both parties have since left. Caller approached them because they were drag racing. One of the males stated he had a gun and had 12 shots for the caller. While the caller was on the phone, one of the cars was in the lot of Zeppe’s Pizza honking the horn. The car left there, and was last seen moving towards Broadway Avenue. The caller advised that they have cameras everywhere and have the incident on tape. Officer called out that the vehicle is at the coffee cup. There is a female in it. The male took off running on W. Glendale Street. One male detained. There are no children in the car, and the female checks OK. The other vehicle involved might be on Palmetto Avenue. The caller is going to sign charges.

Two females in a van drove up and took a toy baby from a third female. The parties are all talking outside a gray minivan at this time, however it looked like they had an altercation. There appears to be four people. One female attempted to bite another female. Female is possibly special needs. Officer requested squad for psychological evaluation.

Caller reporting female is being by her boyfriend at the end of the driveway. No weapons seen. Officer is with suspect.

Caller advised that when he was walking past a male and female on the sidewalk, one of them accused him of bumping into them. The caller is back at his home and the two other parties have friends with them now, and they are trying to get the caller to come outside. They say they want to fight him. The caller said said if he goes outside there will be trouble. We was advised to stay in the house. Officers spoke to the group of males who stated they were walking down the sidewalk when the male bumped into them. Mutual words were exchanged and the male ran into his house. The group of people were talking about the incident in front of the males’ house but never called him out to fight. Both parties advised to keep to themselves.

Caller reporting he believes the neighbors sprayed his dog with skunk spray. This occurred about 30 minutes ago. His brother went over to the neighbor’s house to ask what they sprayed the dog with, and they became offensive and yelled at him. They then went back in the house. Officers spoke to the caller who believes the people sprayed his dog. He did not see them do it, but he believes it was them. Officers stated they would go talk to the people, but the caller just wanted it documented in case of future incidents.

Callers boyfriend will not get out of the car in the parking lot. They were having an argument and now he will not get out. It was a verbal dispute. Both subjects were highly intoxicated and wanted to stay at the home. They were advised to keep the peace.

Caller says her 14-year-old daughter is destroying the home. There are no weapons, no drugs, and no alcohol. No one is injured. She has not struck anyone in the home, but she has caused damage in the house. The female is currently in her bedroom throwing things per the caller. The daughter is on probation for the same thing. Officers are with the juvenile.

Location: Columbus Road (Phil’s Convenience Store)
Employee advised a customer attempted to hit him. Suspects are in the back lot. There are two males and one female in their late teens. No weapons seen. Officers are out with the suspects. The female is no longer allowed in the store. There was no physical confrontation between the complainant and the customer. There was an argument and a threat to meet the employee after her shift to fight.

Location: Northfield Road (Giant Eagle – Bedford)
Caller was involved in an argument with a male he does not know earlier and would like to file a report. Caller states that he was standing in line to check out and the male started arguing with him and then followed them out of the store. Officers spoke to the caller who stated a male tried to cut him in line, and when he confronted him about it the male got angry. He began to mumble vague threats stating, “This is how people disappear.” The caller forgot his Giant Eagle card at the checkout line, and soon after leaving the store, began receiving phone calls from an unknown number. Then he got texts stating his name and address and telling him he better watch his back. The caller does not know who the male is or how he found his name, address, and phone number. The caller wanted it documented in case this male comes to his home. The caller also stated if we are able to id the male he is willing to sign charges. The complainant came back on station to see if there was any new information. He gave the phone number that the text message came from. Nothing was able to be found with this phone number.

Caller advises she can hear a noise coming from the roof at the back of her house and is afraid to check. The house is occupied by two older women. The caller would like officers to check because someone broke into her car over a month ago. The caller hasn’t seen anyone outside, but she is hearing the noise from the roof. It may be a raccoon, but she wasn’t sure. Officers said it checks OK okay. It was a raccoon

The complainant stated she was the victim of fraud by a debt collections company. She was contacted in march of 2018 to have her debt resolved. The amounts obtained were legitimate amounts owed by the complainant. She made arrangements to pay $4,446 to take care of $8,600 in debt. She finished the payments in march of 2019. She then kept getting collections notices and was sent paperwork from Bedford court for a civil hearing. None of the $4,446 she paid was used for her debt. The complainant has contact the ohio attorney generals office and filed a complainant with them. She was advised to have a police report on file. No further police action.

Anonymous caller is reporting she can hear a female screaming for help in the area. She cannot see her, she can only hear her. Officers found the female sitting in front of the address upon arrival. The female was very intoxicated and said to be on drugs called “dog.” The female stated she ran out of the house when two males tried to have sex with her. Furthermore, she states when she declined, the males pushed her down on the ground and that’s when she got up and ran out of the house. Officers spoke to the males at the residence who stated there was a party at their house and the female showed up at 10 p.m. The males stated that they have met the female a couple times prior and she is known to be a drug user and usually takes a drug called “ice.” The males state that the females behavior was unusual, and they did not notice that the female even left the house. Furthermore, they state that she was acting normal at the party and that she came alone. They said they have never seen her act in this manner and do not know why she was calling for help. Officers spoke to the males and they gave officers permission to come inside the house and look around. In plain view there was no contraband sitting out and it’s unknown if there was any before the officers’ arrival. The males state that there were no drugs at the party — only alcohol. The female was transported by EMS to the hospital for further evaluation, and officers will follow up with her when she is not under the influence of drugs and alcohol and is able to make a statement. Officers also located multiple very small glass vials with white powder residue inside them. There is not enough of the residue to test, and the vial will be disposed of.
Monday, July 16 reports

Caller states that while she and her brother were driving up the parking lot, a male approached them attempting to fight her brother. The caller states that she doesn’t know who the male. It is unknown where the male went after that. Officers located all parties involved. The incident was over messages that were sent via social media through a hacked account. The two parties spoke and resolved the matter.

Location: Grandmere Drive
Female is in the lobby to file a harassment report against her ex-husband. Officer spoke with the female complainant and her current husband in the lobby who stated that her ex-husband is harassing her. Complainant stated that her ex has been harassing her and her new husband on and off in an effort to get full custody of their children. The ex-husband has contacted child services stating that the complainant and her husband are unfit to parent their children, but documentation from child services showed that there was nothing found. The ex-husband has not made any direct threats to them at this time. The complainant was advised to talk with the judge in August when both parents go to court for their custody hearing about her options. Complainant was also advised to get a protection order against her ex-husband if she feels it is necessary. An attempt was made to contact with the-ex husband to get his side of the story. Nothing further at this time. Officer spoke with the ex-husband who stated that the complainants’ husband is abusive and that is why he wants the children out of the home. Male was advised to have as little contact as possible with his ex-wife and her husband and to air out his grievances at his custody hearing in August.
