The caller states his 17-year-old daughter took his van without permission, and she does not have a license. She was proceeding in an unknown direction of travel. She has a cell phone with her but is not answering it. The officers were unable to make contact with the juvenile. Dad just wanted to have the police department keep an eye out for the daughter and the vehicle. He will call tomorrow if she isn’t back.

The caller is in the lobby to make a report about her grandson who was assaulted. Her grandson was in the care of an aunt and uncle in Lorain where the assault occurred. The child’s mother sent him there because of disciplinary issues and picked him up yesterday from his grandmother’s house. The grandmother has filed reports with CPS in regards to the assault and the boy’s living conditions with the aunt. She was advised to have the mother report the assault to the Lorain Police (where it occurred).

A female is in the lobby to report that another female is harassing and threatening her. The complainant states that her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend has been sending harassing messages to her by text, Instagram and Facebook. She also states that the other female has been driving by her house and by her place of employment. The complainant does not have any way for the police department to contact the other female. The complainant was advised of her options, and that if she wants the department to contact the female on her behalf, to call back with a valid number.

A male says someone threw a water balloon at his car while he was driving by and almost caused an accident. The caller states that the people who threw the balloon are a few doors down and are having a party. The caller is waiting in a grey Chevy. Officers spoke to the caller who stated he was driving down the street when a water balloon hit his vehicle. The owner stated he saw it was a younger kid who threw it. Officers spoke with the residents at the party who stated it was accidental. They were having a water balloon fight in the front yard, and one went too far. The owners of the residence were very remorseful and attempted to apologize to the caller. The caller wanted no further police action.

The University Hospitals police advised that there was a female in the ER with two gunshot wounds. Friends are with her, and all are advising that it occurred in Bedford. The female victim states she was sitting in her car somewhere near E. 175 Street and Miles Road when she heard a gunshot and felt the pain in her arm. All of her friends on scene were uncooperative. Maple Heights police arrived on scene and spoke with the female. Officers cleared.

A caller had a male visitor tonight, and she has now noticed that a vehicle is missing. The keys to the vehicle are missing as well. The caller did not know that the male was planning on taking the vehicle, and he is not answering his phone. The male is already EWW out of Bedford for unauthorized use of the same vehicle in February. The vehicle was returned in March, and the warrant is still active. An officer could not reach the male by phone, and the voicemail was full. The vehicle was returned later.

The University Hospitals police are reporting that a male in the ER advised he was stabbed in the buttocks by a female while walking on the street in Bedford. The male was calm and compliant but did not want to divulge any further information about the incident. The male agreed to have photos taken and stated he will think about coming in and making a statement.

A male attempted to shoplift a cart full of merchandise from the front of the store. The caller asked him to leave, and he is refusing to comply. The male left on Columbus Road in a Saturn. There are no charges, but the male is now upset that he was accused of stealing and wants the number for corporate. The male was advised of criminal trespass and of his warrant and sent on his way.

The caller’s grandmother is advising that the caller’s mother is being beaten up by her husband. The caller advised her mother was choked, and her hand is bleeding. The door was shut on the female’s hand, and that is why she is bleeding. The caller advised that officers go to the back. The grandmother advised everyone is gone, and she is alone. Officers spoke with a female on the scene, who stated her daughter and the male involved were fighting and she wanted him to leave. The male advised he would leave in the morning.

A male wearing a red hoodie was walking down the middle of Broadway Avenue in downtown with a knife in his hand. He was yelling and waving the knife in the air in front of Burger King. The male wasn’t yelling at a specific person. He was yelling at random cars driving by. He appeared to have a kitchen knife. A second caller said the male acted like he was going to stab a car at the light.

An arrest was made of a male who just came into the store with a knife with a 4-inch blade. He took something off the shelf and then walked out of the store. It is unknown what he took. The management does not need to speak with officers, they just wanted officers aware because of the knife. The caller states the male pounded on the window of her car. Officers see the male walking on Center Road by the church. He is waving the knife above his head. Dollar General is unsure of what was taken, but advised it was something small. He was by the stationary products, so it was possibly a pack of rubber bands. Officers located three new car phone chargers on the male. Officers are taking the male to the jail.

The caller got into an argument with his child’s mother last night, and she left the residence. Now she is sending messages saying she’s going to come back and take the child or call the police on the male. He would like to speak to an officer about the situation. An officer spoke with the male for a report of harassment. The male stated he and his ex-girlfriend just broke up and she moved to a different county abandoning their son. The male also stated the female was threatening to come back to their residence and take her son. The male wanted a report documented for court purposes. He was advised to block the female’s number to avoid incoming messages from her.

The complainant stated she came out to find the driver’s-side rear door window smashed out. She stated that she parked her vehicle on Aug. 1 at approximately 1300 hours in the carport across from her unit. Nothing appears to have been taken from the vehicle. The vehicle’s doors were still locked upon the arrival of officers. While on the scene, a female from the complex advised that on Aug. 2, two SUVs pulled into the parking lot. A female exited one SUV near the complainant’s vehicle, and then both SUVs left the area quickly. It is unknown if they were involved in the damage. No camera is present.

The caller is a 63-year-old female. Her 61-year-old brother was told he had to move and he got violent and hit her. She has a fat lip, but declined a squad. The brother is out on the porch, and the caller is upstairs. The female was advised on the eviction process. There were no obvious signs of injury. The daughter showed up and will keep the parties civil.

A female complainant wanted to report an identity theft. She called the bureau of unemployment this morning to ask about her check. The employee claimed someone already used her identity. An officer spoke with the female who stated she called the unemployment office to file a claim and spoke with an employee who stated a claim was filed in her name sometime in June. The female stated she believes employees from a dealership in Cleveland used her personal information and sold it to unknown person(s).

A 14-year-old female told employees she is being abused. She is with an older female, and they are currently in the check-out line. Officers responded for the report of child abuse. An officer located the juvenile and her aunt in the parking lot of the store. The juvenile stated her aunt has been mentally abusing her and told her “you’re worthless” in the morning today. The juvenile stated that while she was inside the store, she went up to a customer and stated “I’m being abused by my aunt.” The juvenile stated things did not get physical, but the mental abuse made her feel very uncomfortable, and she did not want to stay with her aunt anymore. The aunt mentioned to officers that her niece has acted in such a way in the past and has depression. The aunt also mentioned that children services have been involved in the past. 696-KIDS was contacted.

A male has paperwork for custody and states the mother will not allow him to see his daughter. He would like documentation. The male provided paperwork from juvenile court stating he is supposed to have custody of his daughter Monday through Friday, from 1600 to 2000 hours. The male stated he has not seen his daughter in a couple weeks, and the mother of their child blocked his phone number. The male was advised of the civil matter, but said he just wanted a report documented for court.

The complainant reports that some chairs she rented went missing after a party on July 31. She rented 20 folding chairs for the party, and now two of the chairs are missing. She asked all of her family members that were at the party if they took the chairs, and no one had them. She had one issue with a family member’s friend at the party who she is not friends with. She caught him trying to take liquor from the party, and she suspects he took the chairs. He was seen folding chairs at the end of the party, but no one physically saw him leave with the chairs. The male was contacted and denied being at any party or taking any chairs. No further police action.

Four subjects stole candy. They left in a red Chevy about five minutes ago heading north on Lee Road South. The caller has video footage. Officers provided a lineup to the complainant and he was unable to positively identify the vehicle owner as one of the shoplifters. No further police action needed.

A female states there was a domestic issue at her home. The male is taking the female’s vehicle. He is headed north on Northfield Road. The male also stole the female’s phone. The male did physically assault the female. A neighbor caller is reporting that someone beat up her neighbor and stole her car. The neighbor is following the vehicle, which entered onto Interstate 480 traveling west. A Temporary Protection Order was filed for the female.

The caller’s brother told the caller’s mother that the next time he hits her, she will be dead. The brother is upstairs in his room now. The caller advised she is scared of him. She is in the kitchen with her mother now. The male is by himself. There are no weapons involved, and the male has not gotten physical with the caller today. This has been an ongoing issue. The female stated that yesterday her brother struck her in the face. She had no signs of injury. The female stated that this evening, her mother informed her that her brother told her that he was going to hit her and “go back to jail.” Both the females stated they did not feel safe with the male in the house and wanted him to move out permanently. The complainant was advised on the eviction process. The male was taken to Giant Eagle to retrieve money for a room this evening at a motel. Statements were also given to the complainant and her mother to fill out regarding the ongoing incident.

Officers responded to Walgreens for a call that security was able to see a male inside the store near the front door, and he had set off the alarm. Officers located the male locked inside the store. They instructed the male to unlock the door and come outside. He said that he woke up in the bathroom and simply was trying to leave the store. He did not have any items on him, and there was no damage to the store. An officer spoke with security who verified that the male entered the store, and that the first alarm that was set off was by the bathroom. This is apparently a common mishap at Walgreen’s with employees who are locking up and not checking the bathrooms. The store manager came and secured the door. The male was EWW out of Willoughby.

The complainant is an anonymous third-party caller. She is reporting her brother is at her mother’s residence despite there being a protection order in place. The caller reports her brother stole their mother’s vehicle yesterday, and he is back trying to get it again. The officer said the male was unable to get his car working.

A male arrived home to find the interior of his home tore up. He also noticed a red Kia leaving his driveway and turned down Avery Avenue. Officers spoke a 17-year-old at the residence about someone possibly being in the home. He stated that he just came home and found the house in disarray. He admitted that he and his father leave the front door unlocked and open because they lost the key. He believes the Kia was leaving the area as he arrived home. He was very evasive about the situation and would not provide officers with any information about possible suspects or people who might have a problem with him. Officers cleared the house and found no one inside. The teen stated that he has been “cutting a lot of people off” which the officers took to mean he is distancing himself from some past friends. The father arrived while officers were clearing the house, and he checked inside but found no valuables were missing in the residence. It appears someone with knowledge of the residence may have gone in the house and made a mess in an attempt to find something. The juvenile was once again asked directly if he knew who did this, or if he knew anyone with a red Kia, and he provided no answer. The father and son have had family trouble in the past, and the father believes the son knows more than he is leading on. Officers advised the father to do an inventory in the residence to see if anything was taken, but at that time, he did not think anything was missing. He was also advised to talk to his son and see if he will provide any information about who could have done this. Officers will follow up with the father.

An officer spoke with the complainant. He was advised to collect all of the information on the stolen item and return to the police department to file a report.

Officers responded to a residence for a report of an unwanted guest. The female complainant stated that her fiance is being verbally abusive and that she no longer wishes to have him reside in the home. The female stated that nothing physical occurred, but the male does have a history of becoming physically abusive with her. The male stated that nothing physical occurred, and that he was not willing to leave for the evening. The female is the sole homeowner of the residence and was advised on the eviction process. Both parties agreed to keep the peace for the evening and were advised to contact the police department if the issues continue. The female would like the male to leave her house and also wants a restraining order against the male.
