A female advised she was attempting to sell items on OfferUp, and the person sent an email advising they did not receive payment. The email was impersonating Zelle in which the female caller sent over her bank card information, credit card number, license information, and Social Security Number. The caller was advised to close her accounts and follow up with the Social Security Office.

A caller is at the Sunoco station on Northfield Road. She says she ran out of the house to escape from her 35-year-old son, who was assaulting her. She said he’s still at home, and she’s afraid to go back. She wasn’t sure if she wanted a squad or not. The female has head injuries from the assault and requires EMS. The female is being transported to Ahuja Medical Center. Officers were unable to make contact with the male at the residence.

The caller had a package stolen and thinks one of the neighbors took it. An officer spoke with the complainant. He had purchased a $100 oil painting, and UPS delivered the package to the apartments on 8-14-23 at 1225 hours. The package was signed by a certain person named “Carter.” The package was probably delivered to the wrong address. The complainant was advised to tell UPS of the mistake on their end.

Northfield Road (John’s Deli)
A customer’s phone was taken about 15 minutes ago. The store has video footage of the person who stole it. The complainant set her phone on the counter to purchase lottery tickets and failed to pick the phone up after she purchased the tickets. After the complainant left, three people approached the counter to make a purchase. What appears to be a female juvenile picks the phone up and puts it in her pants pocket. The female then attempts to use the phone to make a purchase using Apple Pay which was declined. The female then exits the store with the phone. The owner of John’s Deli stated that the female that took the phone is a regular customer, but he does not know her name. He will call the department should she return to the store.

The caller advised that the child’s father is calling her stating he is going to give her address out to people she does not want to have it because he is upset that he has to pay child support. The caller advised that there is a protection order in place and wants to see an officer. The complainant wanted the male involved warned about calling her and yelling at her for filing for child support. A message was left on his cell phone about the complaint. He was asked to call the station if he has any questions.

The caller is the landlord of the house. She states the old tenants left the keys in the mailbox. Her maintenance tech is on the scene and states the keys are not in the mailbox anymore. When he entered the home he heard the toilet flush and footsteps walking around. He did not physically see anyone. Officers arrived and checked the house. Everything checked out OK.

The caller is at Bedford Square with someone who signed up fraudulently as a volunteer, and he has been kicking things and threatening other volunteers. He did threaten to shoot one of the workers, but no gun was displayed. The caller is at the gazebo and they have the male’s name. Officer located the male and identified him as a 15-year-old male.

Officers spoke to the complainant who advised that this is the second day that she has had to call officers because of her grandmother. She stated that she is in the process of moving and going to college, and that her grandmother keeps coming over to the house and is starting arguments. The complainant stated that her grandmother has tried to hit her, and she wants her to leave. The complainant stated that the house belongs to her grandmother’s ex-husband. The officer spoke to the grandmother who agreed to allow the complainant to gather her belongings so she could leave. The parties were kept separate, but they both continued to say things in order to upset the other. The complainant gathered her items and left. The grandmother requested her house key to be returned.

Center Road (Bedford Police Department)
An officer advised that while using the vehicle’s key fob to enter the south gate of the municipal complex, the pole that holds the card reader / camera unit started to fall towards one of the vehicles. The officer advised that he was able to slow the pole before it made contact with the side of the truck. Another officer assisted the first officer in lifting the pole from the side of the truck. No damage was visible to the truck. The base of the pole was rotted and could not support the weight. The officer contacted service and advised of the incident. A traffic barricade was used to support the pole until repairs could be made. Photos were taken.

The complainant reported her soon to be ex-husband took their child and will not tell her where he took him and will not answer his phone. An officer called the husband, and he stated the complainant did not meet at the time they agreed on, so he went home with their son. The husband stated he called and texted the complainant with no response. The male stated he has no problem with the complainant coming to his house to pick up their son. The complainant was advised she can go to the male’s house in Cleveland to pick up their son. She was also advised she can contact Cleveland Police for an escort if she feels there will be a problem.

The caller had his license plate stolen off of his vehicle yesterday. He was in the Bedford Reservation. He is not sure if he was in Bedford or Walton Hills. He was also advised this may be Metroparks territory, but that an officer would come speak to him to help him out. The complainant stated that he parked his vehicle at the Egbert Picnic Area, and when he returned to his vehicle, he noticed that the front license plate and the bracket were removed. The complainant was advised that the incident happened in the Metroparks and that he would need to file the report with them. The Metroparks were contacted and advised that they would send an officer for the theft report.

The caller was threatened by someone who said that they would kill his dog because the animal was making noise while a fence was being put up. The threat came from the building behind his property. It was an unknown party yelling out a window from a house on Turney Road while a male was outside working on his fence. Nothing occurred while the officer was on he scene.

The caller just got home and her side door is open and the lights are on in her home. It’s just her and her husband that lives in the home, and they are both in their car in the driveway. They will not go into the home and will stay in the vehicle until police arrive. The officers made entry to clear the residence. They are done clearing the residence and will stay on the scene. This was a burglary. An officer spoke with a neighbor, and they are checking their cameras and will let police know if they have anything.

The complainant came to the station to report that she purchased a vehicle from AH Ride N Pride. Her temp tag was expiring, so she called the dealership to get the title to the car. She found out the Bedford location was closed down. She called the Mentor location and spoke with an employee who told her the paperwork was lost in the move. The complainant had no paperwork of the purchase. She does have a bank statement showing she paid the business $3,700. She was advised it is a civil matter and to work with the dealership in Mentor to get the title to the car.

The caller is the grandfather of the 9-year-old child. He and the mother are there to pick up the child. The grandmother is refusing to let the child leave. The grandfather states he has custodial paperwork for the child. They do not have the paperwork on them, but he is going to run home and get it and bring it to the police station. The grandfather and his soon to be ex-wife both stated they had paperwork for custody of the child. However, both parties could not produce any paperwork on the scene relating to the custody. The grandfather later came to the station with paperwork stating he has custody of the child. Officers spoke with him about letting the child stay with her grandmother until their court appearance as the child has been staying there the past three years and has just started school. Both grandparents were advised to work out an agreement amongst themselves for the time being.

The caller states she would like to file a report for mail theft. Her neighbor has been taking the caller’s mail and she has a recording and messages from the neighbor referring to this issue. The caller stated on 8-17-23, she had a package worth $75 delivered to her apartment. On 8-20-23, she checked online with USPS to confirm it was delivered but the package was not outside of her door. The caller and her husband spoke with a female neighbor in the neighboring apartment (who took the caller’s packages in the past) to ask her if she had it. The neighbor stated she did have the package but did not know how it got into her apartment because it was sitting outside for three days, as it was clearly mentioned in the recording. The female neighbor gave the package back to the caller but it was opened. The caller described her neighbor to be a slim female in her 20s but does not know her name. She just wanted a report documenting the incident. She was advised to speak with her property manager or landlord to discuss the option of installing security cameras.

The complainant stated that there is a protection order in place with the father of her child due to a domestic dispute that took place in another city. The complainant stated that they were just in court yesterday morning (8-22-23) and the judge extended the protection order. A check through leads on both parties showed nothing active. The complainant provided a copy of one page of an order that was stamped by another municipality’s court on 8-22-23. The complainant stated that the male had sent her three messages via social media starting at 1437 hours after they had appeared in court. She was advised that her complaint would be documented for her to present to the other city’s court if needed. She was also advised to provide a full copy of her protection order to be kept on file in records when she obtains it.

The caller says a female non-resident attacked her. The complainant said the female pinned her against the wall, knocked her to the floor and pulled her hair. The caller is claiming a leg injury and says she was also hit in the face. She does not know the neighbor’s name or her apartment number. The attacking female was given a statement form to fill out, and the caller was advised to come to the station after she was done at the hospital. The police declared the units are clear for now.

The caller is a transport van driver and has a patient onboard. Her company has a rule that patients must wear a mask in the vehicles. The male patient is refusing to wear a mask, and is also refusing to exit her van. Officers spoke with the patient who would not leave the van even after being told repeatedly by officers. He finally exited the vehicle after speaking with the supervisor of the transportation company.

The officers spoke with the complainant who states her vehicle was towed from her home to the dealership for repairs approximately two weeks ago. The complainant picked up the vehicle today and realized multiple items were missing totaling approximately $585. Officers spoke with the dealership owner who states that there are posted signs in the dealer lobby stating they are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items left in the vehicle. Also the complainant had signed a service request form stating the same thing. The caller was advised the issue would be documented and that any further action would be civil.

Officers spoke with the complainant in the lobby who states she received a phone call from an unknown male stating he represented a loan company and had deposited money into the complainant’s bank accounts. The complainant stated the male advised her that she would need to go to Walgreens and purchase eBay gift cards to return the money. The complainant on 8-16-23 and 8-17-23 purchased 3 gift cards ($420/$450/$500) totaling $1370 and gave the unknown male the numbers, and security codes via phone. The complainant was advised by her banks that this was a scam, and both banks requested a police report be generated. The complainant was provided a report number and was advised on ways to prevent future fraud activities.

The complainant called to report that a customer is making threatening phone calls to the office. She would like the police to tell him to stop calling. The subject involved was contacted by phone. He was advised not to call the business. He was given some civil options to try to get his items back from his storage locker. The subject was argumentative and did threaten to beat the business owner’s ass if he sees him on the street. He claimed to be a Navy officer, and he said he was going to have his superior officer call the station. The subject was told that is not needed. He was told not to call the business.

The complainant stated she believes a friend of hers stole her medication from her purse earlier today. The complainant stated that her friend was sleeping in her car in her driveway. She felt bad and let her come in the house and do some work for her since she (the complainant) has no aid to help her. She then stated that she believes the friend stole her Oxycodone and her Oxycontin bottles from her purse. When she confronted her friend, she denied it then left the residence on the complainant’s request. The complainant stated that she needs those meds, and also suffers from dementia. An officer contacted the friend who stated that the complainant always does this — misplaces things and then blames people for stealing it. The friend states that the complainant suffers from dementia and does this to people all the time including her son. She also states that the complainant sells her pills to people and then blames people for stealing them.

An officer spoke to the caller who stated on 8-7-23, she noticed that her cellphone notified her that there was an Apple Airtag that was in her area. The female stated that she has never owned an AirTag so she did not know why her phone would state that. She stated she searched her vehicle for any tracking devices as she has been having some weird encounters with a certain male. The caller states she works at an adult entertainment facility and that is how she met this male. She states once she continuously kept getting the notifications on her phone about a tracker, she started to search her vehicle. She states that she found the first tracker under the hood of her vehicle near the windshield wipers. She stated she confronted the male about the tracker. She said the male thought she had put it on his vehicle as a joke, so in return, he put it on hers. She states she found the tracker with the help of an application called Find My. The female wants a report on file at this time and will come back to the police station in the future if she has more proof that it was the male so she can press charges. The female turned over the supposed tracking devices to officers, and they will be entered into evidence.

An officer spoke with a male juvenile who advised he believed two males on bicycles were following him. Officers checked the area for the two males on bicycles, but they were unable to locate them. The male juvenile advised the two males never made contact with him. An officer provided a courtesy ride home to the male juvenile per his request.
