Residents should be aware that trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day due to Thanksgiving Day on 11/27/2025. Kimble does not provide service on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on or before your regular collection day, your pickup will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.

Recycling & Refuse Collection Guidelines:

  • Recycling: Items such as aluminum and steel cans, glass jars and bottles, plastics #1-#7, newspapers, magazines, cardboard, and printer/copier paper can be placed in the recycling tote. Contaminated containers, window glass, mirrors, and ceramics are not accepted.
  • Bulk Trash & Special Items: Appliances, furniture, and lumber (cut to 4-foot lengths) can be placed with regular refuse. Carpeting should be cut and bundled. Automotive batteries, fuel tanks, propane tanks, and metal drums are not accepted.

Residents should place all trash and recycling containers at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection day. Trash and recyclables are collected separately, so be sure to set out both bins properly.

For more details, view the Recycling and Refuse Collection Routes or visit the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District’s website for recycling information.

As we gather to give thanks this season, one local effort is turning gratitude into action. Noah Ash and Nikki’s Food Drive is collecting both pet food and non-perishable food items now through December 31 to support families and furry friends facing hardship throughout the holidays.

You may recognize Noah Ash, the rescue dog featured on Fox 8. Saved from Hurricane Helene in Asheville, NC, Noah now works alongside his handler, Tara Reynolds, a 911 dispatcher with Chagrin Valley Dispatch. During Tara’s 12-hour shifts, Noah provides comfort to dispatchers during stressful calls and is currently training to become a certified therapy dog.

The idea for the drive began when Melissa, Noah Ash’s “spare human,” wanted to collect pet food for local shelters. Around the same time, Nikki—a close friend of Noah Ash and her mother Shannon, owner of Shakers Tavern—was planning a food drive for Cleveland’s Little Free Pantries. Their shared mission quickly grew into one united project helping both people and pets across the region.

Items Needed:
Non-perishable food • Hygiene products • Wet & dry pet food • Hats, scarves • Pet treats • Blankets & towels

Drop-Off Locations:
• Shakers Tavern – 2350 Brookpark Rd, Cleveland
• Mangia Bella Italian Goods – 22560 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park
• Mario’s Barbershop – 7526 Broadview Rd, Parma
• Sachenheim Hall – 7001 Denison Ave, Cleveland
• Woof Wise Dog Training – 13513 W 130th St, North Royalton

Donations will benefit Companion Pets of Cleveland, local food pantries, and additional organizations such as City Dogs and Euclid Pet Pals as supplies allow.

To learn more or donate directly, visit their Amazon Wishlist, sponsored by Luna and Otter’s Big Adventure.
For details, contact Melissa or Nikki at (586) 630-8813 or (216) 224-4301.

The Bedford community is grieving the sudden passing of Councilman Jeff Asbury on November 14th. Councilman Asbury served Bedford as the Councilperson for Ward 5, a role in which he was deeply committed to supporting residents and strengthening the community he loved. Beyond his work on council, Councilman Asbury served the city in many ways over the years—including as a community volunteer and an auxiliary officer—always striving to make Bedford safer, stronger, and more beautiful.

Those who knew Counciman Asbury describe him as a constant source of strength—someone who made everyone feel valued, listened to, and supported. Whether offering advice, lending a hand, or simply sitting with someone through a difficult moment, Councilman Asbury had a rare way of making people feel like they mattered.

His loss has left an immeasurable void for his family. To help them navigate the emotional and financial challenges ahead, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been created. Community members wishing to donate can do so here: https://gofund.me/a6d0b2d9d. Two messages were posted on the fundraiser page—one from his daughter, Shannon, and another from family friend Tori Welms, who organized the fundraiser—each sharing their love, gratitude, and reflections on Councilman Asbury’s life.

Tori wrote about Councilman Asbury’s deep commitment to his family and to the Bedford community, describing him as a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, and a loyal friend whose sincerity and support lifted everyone he knew. She encouraged the community to come together in support of the family as they face the difficult path ahead.

Shannon expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming support their family has received. She noted that service details are not yet available and that any arrangements will likely remain private for immediate family. For those asking how they can help, she explained that contributions will assist with essential expenses and support Councilman Asbury’s wife, with any remaining funds benefiting his grandchildren—“the absolute lights of his life.” She added that her father would likely enjoy being remembered with “a glass of bourbon and some nice BBQ.”

Shannon and Tori also shared that the Bedford Neighborhood Watch will hold a candlelight vigil for Councilman Asbury on Sunday, November 23rd at 6 p.m. in Bedford Square. They have invited the community to join, writing that Councilman Asbury “loved the community that he grew up in and then came back to,” and that throughout his life—as a volunteer, auxiliary officer, and city councilman—“he always worked towards keeping Bedford safe and making the community a beautiful place to live in.”

The Bedford community joins the Asbury family in honoring Councilman Asbury’s life, lifting them up in love, and remembering a man whose kindness, service, and loyalty will not be forgotten.

Below is the official statement from the City of Bedford:

Statement on the Passing of City Councilman Jeff Asbury

BEDFORD, November 15, 2025

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Councilman Jeff Asbury. The Bedford community has lost a dedicated public servant, a thoughtful colleague, and an advocate for the residents of our community.

Throughout Jeff’s years of service as a community volunteer, auxiliary police officer, and member of City Council, he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of residents and to ensure that every voice in our city was heard. Jeff approached every challenge with professionalism, integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the public good.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing Jeff and working alongside him. We are forever grateful for his commitment to public service, and the lasting impact he leaves on our community. We honor his memory by continuing the work to which he was devoted.

No one wants to think about snow just yet—but Bedford’s winter parking ban doesn’t wait for your holiday spirit. As soon as two inches of snow have fallen, a citywide parking ban automatically goes into effect on all streets.

That means no parking on any city roadway until plows can clear snow curb-to-curb.

According to Bedford ordinance, this helps plow crews do their jobs safely and thoroughly—and helps prevent accidents, piles of slush around vehicles, and emergency access issues. Yes, it’s inconvenient. But your cooperation keeps streets safer and Bedford running smoothly.

What You Need to Know

  • The ban kicks in automatically when snowfall reaches two inches—no special alert required.
  • It applies to all city streets, including side streets and neighborhood roads.
  • If your car is left in the street during the ban, it may be ticketed or towed at your expense.
  • To avoid surprises, consider signing up for CodeRED alerts by visiting https://www.cuyahogacounty.gov/ready

So before the flakes fly, take a moment to check your off-street parking options. It’s one less thing to worry about during the next surprise storm.

I know, we all hate the snow—but trust me, it’s better than getting towed at midnight.

Out of 8,670 registered voters citywide, roughly one in four cast ballots for the mayoral race, reflecting steady civic engagement despite the chilly November weather. Find your polling place & sample ballot
Election Day is almost here, and Bedford residents are encouraged to double-check where they’ll be voting this year. Polling locations can sometimes change, so it’s best not to assume it’s the same as last time. Reviewing your sample ballot ahead of time helps you get familiar with the local races and issues that will appear. Taking a few minutes to prepare can help your trip to the polls go smoothly and stress-free.

Check voter ID information (bring the right ID)
Voters in Ohio need to bring an accepted form of identification when they go to vote. That usually includes a driver’s license, state ID, or certain government-issued documents. Before Election Day, make sure your ID is current and that your name and address are correct. Having your ID ready when you arrive keeps lines moving and helps make the process faster for everyone.

Vote-by-Mail reminder (important deadlines)
Today, November 3, 2025, is the final day for absentee or Vote-by-Mail ballots mailed within the United States to be postmarked in order to count. Ballots must arrive at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections no later than Saturday, November 8, 2025. Those returning their ballot in person must do so by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, for it to be counted. Double-check your envelope for the required signature and postage before mailing or dropping it off to make sure your vote is included.

Helpful county hub
The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is your go-to source for official voting information. Their office provides updates about polling hours, locations, and voter services throughout the election season. If you have any questions about registration, accessibility, or procedures at your polling place, they’re ready to help by phone or in person. Bedford residents can count on the county’s resources for the most accurate and up-to-date details this Election Day.

Stay tuned for results
The Bedford Tribune will share local election results as they become available. Be sure to check our website for updates once the polls close and counts begin.
