Currently, there are 11 properties listed for sale, with an average listed price of $170,000. The average price per square foot is holding at $112, reflecting a slight increase of 0.2% compared to the past month.

Market activity remains strong, with 17 properties currently pending. Homes are averaging 53 days on the market, a notable improvement of nearly 15% compared to the previous 30-day period. Meanwhile, the average sold price per square foot sits at $111, indicating that sale prices are closely aligning with list prices.

Several neighborhood properties have recently attracted attention, including:

  • 105 Ellenwood Avenue – Listed at $155,000, this three-bedroom, one-bath home is offered by REAFCO.

In a world that could use a little extra kindness, Jeep owners have found a creative and heartwarming way to connect and spread joy: the “Duck Duck Jeep” trend!

What started in 2020 as a simple act of positivity by Jeep owner Allison Parliament has blossomed into a global phenomenon. It’s as easy as placing a rubber duck on a fellow Jeep, along with a note of encouragement or admiration. What’s even more delightful is how this small gesture has evolved. Many Jeep enthusiasts now proudly display their growing collections of ducks on their dashboards, each one a reminder of a kind moment shared with a stranger.

Why does this matter? Because it reminds us how little it takes to put a smile on someone’s face. A tiny duck, a cheerful note, and suddenly, someone’s day is a bit brighter.

So, whether you’re already part of the Jeep community or just want to join in the fun, grab a few rubber duckies and start spreading some joy. You never know whose day you might turn around.

Let’s keep the positivity rolling (and quacking)!

As reported by Cleveland 19 News, nearly five decades after Detective William Prochazka of Bedford Heights was killed in the line of duty, his family continues to fight to keep his convicted killers behind bars. In November 1975, Prochazka was shot in the neck while delivering mug shots to businesses in Southgate Shopping Center. The shooter was one of four individuals involved in a robbery. Prochazka did not survive the attack.

His granddaughter, Jessica Riley, and his youngest son, Brian Prochazka, have spoken out about the emotional toll the loss continues to take on their family. At just six years old, Brian lost his father, while Jessica, born after the tragedy, is now older than her grandfather was when he died.

The family has repeatedly testified before parole boards, opposing the release of the men responsible. Originally sentenced to death, the offenders had their punishments reduced due to changes in Ohio’s death penalty laws. One of the four—who served as the getaway driver—has already been released. The remaining three are now eligible for parole.

The Prochazka family remains steadfast in their belief that those responsible should remain incarcerated. No parole hearings have been scheduled yet for the remaining men.

As reported by Cleveland 19 News, Mary Elizabeth Davison Godwin, a third-class survivor of the Titanic, is buried in Bedford Cemetery. Over a century ago, she and her husband, Thomas, boarded the Titanic to travel to Bedford, Ohio, where her parents lived in nearby Cleveland. Although they had tickets for another ship, Mary persuaded Thomas to switch to the Titanic’s maiden voyage.

Tragically, just four days into the journey, the ship struck an iceberg late on April 14, 1912. Mary was placed in lifeboat 16, but Thomas remained onboard and was lost in the disaster. Of the 2,240 passengers and crew, only 706 survived—just 174 from third class.

After arriving in New York on the rescue ship Carpathia, the 34-year-old widow made her way to Bedford and eventually remarried twice. She passed away from cancer in 1939 at age 61. Her gravestone in Bedford Cemetery reads simply: “Mary Godwin, 1878–1939, wife, at rest.”

Mary’s legacy endures in Bedford. Her family reportedly still possesses the skirt she wore that fateful night, and Sirna’s Cafe honors her memory with a photo and tribute on their wall—just a short walk from her final resting place.

Allows Local Families to Find Help for Anxiety, Depression, Behavioral Problems, Academic Struggles, Developmental Delays or Disabilities

HIGHLAND HILLS, OH — The Eastern Cuyahoga County Resource Fair on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Eastern Campus Student Services Building, 4250 Richmond Road, Highland Hills, provides local resources for those 0-22 years who are experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, academic struggles, developmental delays or disabilities. This is one of the largest resource fairs offered in Northeast Ohio.

According to a Health Policy Institute of Ohio December 2024 study, approximately one in four children, ages 3-17, across the country reported one or more mental, emotional, developmental or behavioral problems in 2021 and 2022.  In Ohio, that same study reports that a fifth (20%) of middle school students and a third (33%) of high school students in 2023 reported that their mental health was not good most or all of the time.

With more than 70 providers, the free Eastern Cuyahoga County Resource Fair offers a number of options for families looking for help. To register, visit https://www.connectingforkids.org/east-cuyahoga-fair or call/text: 440-570-5908.

Families who pre-register and attend the in-person event will be entered to win a $100 Amazon gift card. In addition, the first 100 families who stop by the Connecting for Kids table at the fair will receive a free stuffed animal courtesy of Wild Republic with a disability awareness pin and bookmark. Those who have limited time can drive up to the tent in front of the Tri-C Eastern Campus Student Services Building during fair hours to receive a grab & go bag of resources.

The process of finding help for a struggling child can be overwhelming. Parents and caregivers may not know where to start or what resources they need, so Connecting for Kids will have a table at the entrance of the fair staffed by those who can answer questions, narrow down options and point them in the right direction of the service providers that can help. There will also be a quiet/sensory area that will allow caregivers to take a break, if needed.

Attending a resource fair will actually save time for families in the long run. Rather than having to scour the internet or spend hours making phone calls, the resource fair offers a one-stop shop. Attendees can discuss insurance, services provided and explore program options directly with the provider. Having face-to-face conversations allows families to assess whether a provider is a good fit.

At the fair, families will find help for:

  • Mental Health Concerns – A report by the Annie E. Casey Foundation found that nearly 1 in 8 Ohio kids received a diagnosis of anxiety or depression in 2020, up 42% from 2016 — the 10th-highest increase nationwide. The fair will provide mental health and behavioral health providers.
  • Academic Issues – For students who are struggling, families can find tutors, academic programs, alternative schools and educational advocates.
  • Disabilities & Developmental Delays – Find occupational, physical, speech and music therapists. Also represented will be adapted camps, sports, recreational programs and transition services. Presented in partnership with The Rotary Club of Cleveland. Platinum sponsors of the event include Community Fund Ohio, Cuyahoga Community College, Cuyahoga County Public Library and New Heights ABA.

Other resource fairs offered by Connecting for Kids this spring include:

Lorain County Resource Fair
Tuesday, March 18, 2025
6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Lorain County Community College (LCCC) Spitzer Conference Center, 1005 Abbe Road N., Elyria
