Student Success Center – K-8 grades
Monday – Thursday (school days) 4-6:30 p.m.
Since 2002, our FREE Student Success Center’s program has helped thousands of students in grades K–8 improve their grades and subject comprehension. Student Success Centers are available at 10 branches. Students who participate in the program receive homework assistance from trained tutors in the following subjects: Language Arts, Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. MUST REGISTER
African Dance Fusion

African Dance Fusion is an amalgamation of traditional West African Dance with one or more dance styles (ballet, jazz, contemporary, Latin dance, salsa, etc). Join us for an interactive program, where instructor, Andrea Belser McCormick will lead participants through the foundations of this dance style. The instructor will work within participants’ physical abilities. Dress ready to move and bring water. No experience necessary. MUST REGISTER

Ellenwood Book Discussion – Adults

Copies of the book, The Lions of Fifth Avenue, will be available at the Bedford Branch and at the Ellenwood Center one month before the date of the discussion. “In 1913, when Laura Lyons applies to the Columbia Journalism School, she finds herself involved with the Greenwich Village Heterodoxy Club, a radical feminist group that makes her question her role as wife and mother. When valuable books are stolen from the library, she’s forced to confront her priorities head on. In 1993, Sadie struggles with the legacy of her grandmother, famous essayist Laura Lyons. Her job as a curator at the New York Public Library becomes a nightmare when rare manuscripts begin disappearing. An investigation leads Sadie to some unwelcome truths about her own family heritage.”
