ALL REQUESTS ARE DONE ON AN APPLICATION FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.

PLEASE ALLOW A MINIMUM OF TWO WEEKS FOR PROCESSING OF THE APPLICATION.

Premium Times* (Friday Nights, all day Saturday and Sunday) – *Defined as any instance when an employee would be paid at an overtime rate to supervise the event.

All rooms during Premium Times are charged as follows:

Residents: $65.00/per hour – three (3) hours minimum
Non-Residents: $100.00/per hour – three (3) hours minimum

Any set-up/take-down by a City employee will incur an additional one hour charge.

BEDFORD SENIORS:

SENIORS CLUB –

The Seniors Club is sponsored by the Recreation Department and meets at the Ellenwood Center on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM. To join this club you must be a Bedford resident, be at least 55 years old, and pay annual dues of $15.00, which includes the raffles for the annual picnic and Christmas party. At their Wednesday gatherings seniors share a brief business meeting, lunch, and plenty of social time with bingo and card games, or a movie complete with popcorn! The club plans a summer picnic, a Christmas party, and a variety of field trips and special outings to museums, theatres, concerts and other entertainment events. Food, Friends, and Fun! Come and join the Seniors Club!

SENIOR LINE DANCING –

This lively group of seniors meets each Monday from 10:30 AM to noon to get a little exercise and to socialize. This activity is free to all resident seniors. An evening class is also scheduled each Thursday from 7:00 – 8:00 PM. The cost of this evening class is $2.00 per class.

“REACH WITH RHYTHM WORKOUT”

Seniors that want to sit up, shape up and have fun while listening to great music will enjoy this gentle chair aerobics class that aims at stretching, strengthening, and toning your muscles. This class meets at the Ellenwood Center every Thursday morning from 11:00 AM to noon. The cost is only $1.00 a class, so bring a friend and have some fun while you get in shape.

CRAFT CLASS

Do you enjoy crafts and creativity? Come and join friends the first Wednesday of each month, February – November, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the Ellenwood Center for our Crafts Class. A member of our Seniors Club will plan a simple yet interesting craft for you to enjoy. There is no fee for this class, but please call 440-735-6573 to reserve your place in this class so we can have enough materials on hand for everyone.

SENIOR VAN SERVICE

The Bedford Recreation Department provides transportation service for residents 60 years of age or older. The Senior Van can be used for medical or business appointments, grocery shopping, hospital visits, or for many other purposes. The van is equipped to handle two wheelchairs and/or up to ten passengers. The van is available Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 11:30 AM and 1:15 – 4:30 PM. A fee of $2.00 per roundtrip is required. Boundary lines for all trips are: North – South Pointe Hospital; South – Northfield Village; East – Clinic Building in Solon; and, West – Garfield Mall/City View Center.
