The City of Bedford has over 27 acres of park lands in over 10 locations around the city including Ellenwood Center, the outdoor municipal pool and skate park and is committed to providing our residents with safe and meaningful recreational opportunities for kids and adults of all ages. Ellenwood Center: Ellenwood Center is the home of the Parks and Recreation Department and is a great place for Bedford residents to host a banquet or family event for groups of all sizes at an affordable price.
Municipal Pool: Open June through August, the pool offers swim lessons, water aerobics, lifeguard training and a competitive swim team. The facility features six 25-yard competition lanes, water slide, zero-depth area and spray ground.
Seniors: Senior Club meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at Ellenwood Center. Senior bus trips and other special outings are offered 6-8 times per year.
Community Transportation Service: A door-to-door transportation service is offered for Bedford senior citizens age 60 and older and disabled persons over the age of 18 and can be used for medical appointments and errands such as banking and grocery shopping.
