In the Work Session, we will be discussing:

  • The Regular Session agenda
  • Point of Sale – The City is considering putting Point of Sale back in place, despite the fact that the home values in Bedford took a sharp turn upwards when it was shot down by a judge in a court of law. So, I am going to tell you right now that this is one of the reasons I ran for City Council. I am VERY MUCH AGAINST Point of Sale. An enormous amount of data has come out and said POS’s are simply bad for communities. If you are interested in reading that information and data, let me know and I will send it to you.

If you are opposed to POS, then this is the time to call your councilperson or city manager or email them and tell them NOT to allow POS to come back to our city. It is just bad policy.

In the Regular Session, we will be voting on:

  • Allowing the City to go into a contract with Burton Scott Contractors for the resurfacing of Forbes Rd.
  •  Allowing the City to go into a contract with Chagrin Valley Paving for work to improve the roads in Bedford as part of the Road Improvement Program.
  • Authorizing the City to go into a contract with Nerone and Sons, Inc for emergency repairs to the Wood Creek Trunk sewer – The Wood Creek sewer has been experiencing ongoing issues and this would fix it.
  • Tweaking the language on the tax code to adjust how fees and penalties paid are applied to debts held by the City.
  • Declaring 96 John a nuisance – This is typically the first step to either filing citations against a building or looking to have it torn down.
