The City of Bedford is updating its Master Plan for the first time since 2007, and community members are being asked to help shape the city’s future by completing an introductory survey before the deadline tomorrow, September 30, 2025.
The new Master Plan is designed to reflect current community priorities, respond to changing market conditions, and guide future growth and redevelopment. Like many communities in the region, Bedford has faced population decline since the early 2000s. City leaders view this shift as an opportunity to reimagine underused sites as community amenities, residential areas, or new job centers that will strengthen the local economy.
The planning process includes four phases. The first focuses on analyzing current conditions and comparing Bedford with similar communities in Cuyahoga County. The second phase involves extensive community engagement to create a shared vision and identify key goals. Recommendations will then be developed into a comprehensive set of actions, followed by an implementation phase that outlines concrete steps, funding resources, and potential partners to bring the plan to life.
Officials stress that public participation is critical to the success of the plan. Residents’ feedback will directly influence how Bedford evolves over the next several years.
The Bedford Master Plan Intro Survey can be completed online and takes only a few minutes. To ensure your voice is heard, submit your responses before tomorrow, September 30, 2025.
