As we gather to give thanks this season, one local effort is turning gratitude into action. Noah Ash and Nikki’s Food Drive is collecting both pet food and non-perishable food items now through December 31 to support families and furry friends facing hardship throughout the holidays.
You may recognize Noah Ash, the rescue dog featured on Fox 8. Saved from Hurricane Helene in Asheville, NC, Noah now works alongside his handler, Tara Reynolds, a 911 dispatcher with Chagrin Valley Dispatch. During Tara’s 12-hour shifts, Noah provides comfort to dispatchers during stressful calls and is currently training to become a certified therapy dog.
The idea for the drive began when Melissa, Noah Ash’s “spare human,” wanted to collect pet food for local shelters. Around the same time, Nikki—a close friend of Noah Ash and her mother Shannon, owner of Shakers Tavern—was planning a food drive for Cleveland’s Little Free Pantries. Their shared mission quickly grew into one united project helping both people and pets across the region.
