Ward 5 voters in Bedford should be aware of an important polling location change ahead of the May 5, 2026 Primary Election.
Due to unforeseen circumstances at the previous site, the voting location for precinct Bedford-05-A has been moved effective immediately. Beginning with the May 5 primary, Ward 5 residents will cast their ballots at:
Bedford City Hall
165 Center Street
Bedford, OH 44146
Election officials say the transition has been carefully coordinated to ensure a smooth experience for voters. Residents are reminded that ballots must be cast at their newly designated polling location on Election Day.
Changes to Absentee Ballots
In December 2025, Senate Bill 293 was signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine, making several changes to Ohio election procedures.
Under the new law, beginning March 20, 2026, absentee (vote-by-mail) ballots must be received by the Board of Elections by the time polls close on Election Day in order to be counted. This change takes effect for the May 5, 2026 Primary Election.
Photo ID Still Required
Photo identification remains required for Early In-Person and Election Day voting. Acceptable forms of ID must include the voter’s name and a valid expiration date and include:
- Ohio driver’s license, state ID card, or interim ID form issued by the BMV (current or previous address accepted)
- U.S. Military ID, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID, or Ohio National Guard ID
- U.S. Passport or Passport Card
Stay Informed
Voters are encouraged to verify their registration information and review updated election laws by visiting the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website at www.boe.cuyahogacounty.gov.
Residents should also watch for the official Voter Information Guide ahead of the primary election, which will serve as another reminder of the polling location change.
As always, Ward 5 voters are encouraged to plan ahead and make sure they arrive at the correct location on Election Day.
