The Bedford City Schools Board of Education is seeking applicants to fill an unexpired term of a board member position that will become vacant beginning April 10, 2026.

The Board will begin reviewing applications and conducting interviews in the coming weeks and must appoint a replacement within 30 days of the vacancy. The individual selected will serve through January 1, 2028.

If the appointed member wishes to continue serving beyond that time, they must run for election in the next general election.

Individuals interested in serving on the Bedford City Schools Board of Education should contact Taylor Friedrich to request an application. Applications will also be made available on the District’s website. The deadline to submit applications is April 12, 2026 at 11:59 PM.

According to Ohio law, candidates must be residents of the district, registered voters, and at least 18 years of age.

Board President Anthony A. Akins, Sr. stated that the Board will carefully review all applications, conduct interviews, and select a candidate at an upcoming Board meeting. Additional information regarding the application process and timeline will be shared with applicants.

The Bedford City School District serves approximately 3,000+ students across multiple school buildings in the communities of Bedford, Bedford Heights, Oakwood Village, and Walton Hills.
