Here is the agenda for today’s (9/8/20) City Council Meeting. Due to the directives surrounding COVID-19, the Council will be meeting via Zoom this evening but you will be able to watch the video of both the work session, the budget meeting and the regular session at the City’s YouTube page.

The videos are now broadcast live at this URL so if you tune in at 6pm for the work session, 7pm for the budget meeting and 8pm regular session, you can watch the Council meeting live: https://www.youtube.com/CityofBedfordOH

The public will be able to submit any questions, comments or concerns to citymanager@bedfordoh.gov which will be monitored throughout the meeting.  Please feel free to send you questions ahead of time. 

Mayor Koci, City Council and the Administration will answer / reply during the public comments portion of the meeting.  Once again, thank you for your cooperation, understanding and partnership during these unprecedented times.

In the Work Session, we will be discussing:

  • The Regular Session agenda
  • PARKING (again *sigh*)

In the Regular Session, we will be voting on:

  • Making additional appropriations – This is pretty much adjusting the budget for unforeseen costs and windfalls.
  • Paying GPD Group Engineering for their services on the Forbes Rd resurfacing project.
  • Paying GPD Group Engineering for their services on the 2020 Street Improvement project.
  • Paying GPD Group Engineering for their services on the Ellenwood Waterline Replacement project
  • Amending Ordinance 6950-97 Section 1341.19 entitle “Removal of Weeds by Owner, Occupant; Notice” – This update clarifies this law and makes allowances for front yard gardens.
  • To accept money from the State through the CARES Act to help address unforeseen financial costs incurred due to COVID-19 shutdown measures.
  • Rezoning Harrison St to allow for a new car dealership to be built there.
  • Entering a contract with Nick’s Tree Service to remove dead trees around the City.
  • Entering a contract with Campopiano Roofing to repair the Service Garage roof.
  • Entering into a cooperative agreement with the Village of Oakwood in regards to the resurfacing of Forbes Rd. Oakwood would like to participate in this project.  The City will be temporarily loaning Oakwood the money for the project.
  • Changing the contract that we approved before with Burton Scott Contractors, which is the company that is doing the Forbes Rd resurfacing project. The project is being adjusted to include Oakwood’s section of Forbes Rd.
  • Amending the Signs ordinance to limit the height of pole signs in the City to 30 feet tall.
  • Accepting the amounts and rates for tax levies as determined by the Budget Commission of Cuyahoga County
