Halloween is here! It’s a wonderful time for parents to engage in some fun crafting with their little ones. One delightful and easy craft to do together is creating DIY paper plate pumpkins. This project is perfect for all ages, and you can adjust it based on your child’s skill level.
Supply List:
- Paper plates (one for each pumpkin)
- Orange and green paint or markers
- Scissors (for older kids)
- Glue (for all ages)
- Black construction paper (for faces)
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Twine or ribbon (for hanging)
- Paintbrushes (if using paint)
Instructions:
- Preschool/Kindergarten:
- Let your little ones paint the paper plate orange. After it dries, help them cut out shapes from black construction paper for the pumpkin’s face, or use googly eyes. Glue the face on and attach a green leaf made from construction paper.
- Elementary School:
- Have the kids paint their plates and then cut them into the shape of a pumpkin by creating jagged edges at the top. Encourage them to design their own faces using black construction paper, glue, and even stickers for added fun.
- Middle School:
- Challenge them to create a 3D pumpkin. Paint and cut the paper plate as before, but after painting, they can fold the plate into a pumpkin shape and secure it with glue. They can also add extra embellishments like glitter or patterns with markers for a unique touch.
This craft is not only fun but also allows for creativity and quality bonding time. Enjoy crafting, and may your home be filled with laughter and Halloween spirit!
