Summer Lunch — Kids ages 18 & younger

Monday through Friday during the summer we collaborate with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to provide children with free healthy lunches at select branches. The Summer Lunch program is open to all kids ages 18 and younger. The USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.

Computer Basics — Adults
Friday, August 9th , 2:00PM
Learn the basics about computing devices, including identifying hardware, using a mouse and keyboard and navigating the desktop environment. Computer settings, file management and mobile devices will also be discussed. Prerequisite: none. Classes start promptly! We cannot hold seats for attendees who arrive after an in-person class has started. Anyone not on the registration list will be given an available seat on a first-come, first-served basis. Dealing with Disobedience — Parents of children ages birth to 12

Presented by Bright Beginnings and Triple P Positive Parenting Program. This program provides parents with the tools needed to navigate the complexities of parenting, during the school year and beyond, as well as boosts parents’ confidence while helping increase the likelihood of positive outcomes in our children’s educational journey. Positive parenting leads to healthy brain development and school readiness! This discussion topic provides examples of common forms of disobedience and some reasons
why children have difficulty learning to follow instructions. A number of positive parenting strategies are then introduced to help parents develop a personal plan to prevent disobedience, teach their child limits, and also to manage disobedience when necessary. MUST REGISTER

Mobile Pantry
Free, fresh produce distribution

Cuyahoga County Public Library is collaborating with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to distribute free, fresh produce to those in need. This event will be held rain or shine. Each family will receive 3 pre-packaged boxes of dairy, meat, and/or produce for free, loaded into their vehicle trunk. First come, first-served basis, adults of any age, zip code, income level. Each vehicle can have up to 4 “families” (such as if single seniors are riding together). Vehicles preferred over walk-ups, for safety reasons.
10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s & Dementia — Adults

Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause memory, thinking and behavior problems that interfere with daily living. Learn about recognizing common signs of the disease, approaching someone about memory concerns, knowing the importance of early detection and benefits of a diagnosis, considering possible tests and assessments for the diagnostic process, and discovering Alzheimer’s Association resources. Internet Basics — Adults

Learn how to use web browsers and search engines to navigate the internet. This class will also discuss how to stay secure while searching for and submitting information online.
