Forever Friends Foundation — Our Goal is to Save Lives
Forever Friends Foundation is an all volunteer, no-kill animal rescue group that rescues abandoned, abused, and homeless animals. The Foundation was founded in September 2003 and is a 100% volunteer-based 501(c)3, non-profit rescue. In its first year, the Foundation rescued and placed 58 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies in only the first three months. Since that time, placement of over 7,800 animals into loving, caring, forever homes has taken place. Primarily, we focus our efforts on homeless cats and kittens. Our intake capability is dependent on the number of foster homes we have available. We try to help and accommodate everyone!
While in foster care, animals are cared for medically and placed for adoption at many local pet stores and facilities – Petco and PetSmart, Macedonia (adoption events and viewing of the cats are every Saturday and Sunday 1-4 PM) or PetSmart/Parma. The numbers from one of our adoption partners posted for 2023, 428 pets were listed and 312 pets were adopted. Pretty amazing! The Foundation has some amazing foster families that give their time, expertise and homes to many cats each and every year. Home care is important to the animals as it creates socialization skills and love that was lacking in their lives with the hope of finding each pet a loving forever home. At any given time, the Foundation has 100 or more animals relying on the volunteers to provide them with food, litter, safety and medical care and lots of love and safety! The animals remain in foster care until they are ready to be placed up for adoption. Adoptions occur either directly from the foster home or from one of our three adoption centers: Petco and PetSmart, Macedonia (adoption events and viewing of the cats are every Saturday and Sunday 1-4 PM) or PetSmart/Parma. Every cat adopted is fully vetted including spay/neutering, de-worming, flea treatment if needed and routine vaccinations. When we have fosters available to take dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, we happily rescue them as well. We work closely with local animal wardens to ensure that we save and re-home as many animals as possible.
Forever Friends Foundation (FFF) relies solely on donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees to support its work in animal rescue. The Foundation is run by a Board of Directors which meets periodically to conduct Foundation business. We are always looking for new members to volunteer their time and energy to our cause. We need cleaners, adoption counselors, and foster homes. We can also use pet store gift cards and cash donations. Please consider getting involved by volunteering or donating. Forever Friends Foundation seeks to reduce the unwanted pet population through spay and neuter programs and adoptions. Therefore, we rely on the generosity of our donors and fundraising events to be able to continue our rescue efforts. A Parking Lot sale with over 10,000 items will be July 18, 19, 20 at the Church of Christ parking lot, 7166 Dunham Road, Walton Hills, Ohio.
