Household Hazardous Waste Round-up – April 21–25

Bring your hazardous household waste to the Bedford Service Garage (100 Solon Road) from Monday to Friday, April 21–25, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Accepted items include:

  • Sealers, primers, and coatings
  • Varnishes, polyurethanes, shellacs
  • Paint thinner, mineral spirits, turpentine
  • Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides
  • Caustic household cleaners
  • Automotive fluids, motor oil
  • Adhesives, roof tar, driveway sealer
  • Kerosene, gasoline, lighter fluid, mercury

Not accepted:

  • CFL bulbs (compact or tube fluorescent)
  • Latex paint (To dispose: remove lid, add drying agent like kitty litter or oil dry, let contents dry solid, then place with household trash)

Chipper Service – 2025 Schedule

Chipper service will take place during the following weeks:

  • May 5
  • June 2
  • July 7
  • August 4
  • September 1
  • October 6

Important:
All items must be placed at the curb and called into the Service Department at 440-735-6583 before brush pick-up begins each month. Addresses will not be added once monthly pick-up has started.

Preparation Guidelines:

  • Place branches on the tree lawn with the cut end facing the street
  • Branches must not exceed 10 inches in diameter
  • Leave limbs as long as possible for continuous feed into the chipper
  • Limbs under 3 feet long or over 10 inches in diameter will not be picked up

Unacceptable Items:
The following will not be accepted for chipper service:

  • Rose bushes
  • Grape vines
  • Pricker bushes
  • Firewood
  • Fence posts
  • Wood pallets
  • Wood with nails or screws

These items must be bagged or bundled and set out for regular trash collection.

Note: Railroad ties and stumps must be removed at the homeowner’s expense.
