As reported by Cleveland 19 news, firefighters from several area departments responded to a residential parking garage fire on Libby Road in Bedford Heights Wednesday evening. The fire was reported around 8:46 p.m., with crews encountering heavy smoke and flames that eventually spread through the garage roof.

Additional departments were called to assist, and relay pumping was used to provide enough water for firefighting operations. Residents were evacuated while crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby apartment buildings.

No injuries were reported, and the apartment buildings on both sides of the garage were saved. Vehicles inside the garage were considered total losses.

Departments assisting included Bedford Heights, Maple Heights, Bedford, North Randall, Solon, Warrensville Heights and Oakwood. The Bedford Heights Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
