Bedford High School’s fall sports season got underway in August, with Bearcats teams competing in football, soccer and volleyball.
The boys varsity soccer team opened with two straight victories, defeating Brush 2-0 on Aug. 17 and Lakeside 6-1 on Aug. 22. Bedford added a 3-1 win over Ellet on Aug. 25 before falling 7-0 to South on Aug. 27, finishing the games shown for August with a 3-1 record.
The varsity football team opened its season with a close 12-7 loss at East on Aug. 21. The Bearcats bounced back the following week, defeating Twinsburg 23-20 at home on Aug. 28. Bedford’s JV football team also earned a 28-24 victory over East, while the freshman team shut out Twinsburg 12-0.
In girls varsity volleyball, Bedford defeated Cleveland Heights 3-1 on Aug. 25 before falling to Lorain 3-0 and Hawken 3-1. Bedford’s JV and freshman volleyball squads also picked up victories during the month.
The girls varsity soccer team faced a challenging start, falling 8-0 to Brush on Aug. 17 and 9-0 to Rootstown on Aug. 29.
With the opening weeks complete, Bedford’s fall teams headed into September with their seasons in full swing.
