Just like that, the consistent groups of tractor trailers that had been using the parking lot at Meadowbrook Market Square for nighttime rest have disappeared. The occasion has left some in Bedford wondering where they went all of a sudden.

During a brief interview on Saturday, City Council Representative Heather Rhoades (Ward 5) was able to shed some light on the situation. She said there was a day recently when she was riding past the shopping center and thought it odd that the trucks were parked in an organized group right in front of where the old Target used to stand, but not anywhere else in the large parking lot.

She said the area in which they were located (if one could view it from above) probably looked like it might correlate with coordinates on a map.

She also found it puzzling that the trucks just used the Meadowbrook lot and not the vacant lot in front of Walmart across the street as well. So, she decided to go online and do a little investigating. Sure enough, the spot in the Meadowbrook lot where the trucks were located was posted on truckerpath.com as a place welcoming to truckers.

The posting on the site was soon removed, and that is why the truckers have moved elsewhere.
