Broadway Avenue (Bedford Eagles)
The caller states that there is a damaged double-paned window. The outside is shattered, but the inside is fine. They are requesting to make a report. An officer responded to the listed address and spoke with the complainant. He advised that overnight, at an unknown time, someone threw a rock that struck the window on the southern side of the building and shattered it. Photos were taken of the damage, and the complainant was given a report number for their records. There are no suspects at this time and no video.

Two males exchanged words in the parking lot of the listed address. The caller was walking his dog and the other male felt threatened. According to the caller, the other man presented what appeared to be a silver firearm which was actually a silver knife of some sort. Officers spoke with the man who stated he admitted to having a small knife on him for protection due to the way the dog was standing. The man was upset because per Wolf’s Cove property managers, no dogs are allowed in the apartments and the caller’s dog wakes him up very often on many nights while he’s trying to rest. While speaking with the man, he did not have any weapons on him. Both parties were advised to avoid any interaction with each other. The man, who is afraid of dogs, was also advised to address the dog concern with the property manager as he feels that the caller is violating the apartment policy.

The complainant stated on December 3, a member of the temple entered a meeting that was taking place and began shouting. The complainant stated he took his phone out to record what was happening when the man grabbed the phone and smashed it against the floor. The complainant stated the man claimed he had a firearm in his vehicle and “was not afraid to use it.” Information was documented and sent to the prosecutor to review. At a time later, the complainant came to the police lobby to discuss this report. The complainant stated the man threatened the members of the temple twice on December 3. The complainant was advised the reports were sent to the prosecutor for a ruling.

The caller advised she came out to her vehicle and noticed damage to the rear bumper and light. The complainant advised that she parked her Jeep Cherokee in the hospital parking lot near the old emergency room at approximately 1512 hours. When she returned to her vehicle she noticed that the driver side rear light was hanging out of the bumper and that there was paint on her bumper and on the left door. The complainant states that she spoke to an employee at the facility about the security cameras and they provided her with a phone number to call. The suspect vehicle is red in color. The officer contacted the facility security manager and advised him of the reported incident. The security manager for the facility called back and advised that he did have the incident on the security system. He advised that he further checked and possibly located the driver’s name from the medical staff at the building. The officer checked the residence in Maple Heights and located the vehicle parked in the driveway with damage on the driver side rear bumper. The officer located the driver at the residence and asked why she did not attempt to locate the owner of the vehicle she struck? The female did not have a response at the moment. The officer advised that he would issue a citation for private property hit skip and obtained insurance information. A citation was issued with a court date set.

A mother and daughter got into an argument today over the mother taking the car keys from her daughter. The mother claims the daughter punched her, and the daughter is claiming the mother pushed her. Neither party had any visible injuries. Due to conflicting statements, officers were unable to determine the primary physical aggressor. The mother wanted the daughter to leave for the night. The officers gave the daughter a courtesy ride to the lobby to wait for her father to pick her up.

The caller states someone shot one bullet through her wall. Nobody was injured and nothing else was seen or heard. The male in the adjoining apartment was cited for discharging a firearm

The officers spoke with a male in the lobby. He advised that he took his van to Kia of Bedford for an oil change. When he picked up the van, it had a large dent and scratches/paint transfer on the driver side rear wheel well and gas cover. Photos were taken. He is following up with a manager at Kia and will speak with his insurance.

The husband just choked the caller and pushed her into a washing machine. The male is still outside and smells intoxicated. No weapons were involved and the female declined EMS. Upon arrival, the complainant came outside and spoke to officers. She advised that her husband was out all night and came home at 1200 hours. She stated that he was going to go downstairs and she confronted him about being out. She stated that he was not going to sleep. The complainant stated that her husband placed his hand around her neck and pushed her against the wall and then into the washing machine. The complainant stated that she did not need medical attention but showed officers her left arm/elbow area. The officer did not see any visible physical injuries. The complainant stated that she did not want to have her husband arrested but requested that officers speak to him to scare him. The officer spoke to the male who stated that he and his wife are presently living as single people in the same house. He stated that he wants to leave the relationship, but she keeps stopping him from leaving. He stated that he did stay out all night and came home about noon. He stated that he wanted to go downstairs, but she wouldn’t let him get by. He stated that she began hitting him when he attempted to pass her. He denied any physical interaction with her and stated that he did not choke her. Due to conflicting stories, both parties agreed to stay separate for the rest of the day. The male was provided with his options about staying in the residence.

The caller states his yard is torn up with tire tracks that lead to the next house. The officers spoke with the complainant who advised his neighbors are driving in his yard leaving marks. The officers spoke with the neighbor who was advised to stay on their own property.

Broadway Avenue (Foxy Fur Dog Grooming Salon)
The officers spoke with both parties involved in the incident. One male admitted to walking up to the other male and getting in his face at the grooming salon. The other male admitted to saying “wanna go?” but stated it was in a sarcastic manner as he was dressed in a Santa Claus outfit. The parties were advised to stay away from one another and to not return to the other’s business. The parties were also advised to walk away from the situation rather than aggravate it. Later, the party dressed like Santa from the grooming salon came in to the station and requested assault charges against the other party. The male was advised there was no assault, however, it could be reviewed for disorderly conduct. Statements were taken of the incident. There is no video footage of the incident. The other man stated he went to walk away from the guy dressed as Santa, but that the man yelled profanity at him. He admitted he turned around and went to get in his face, but the man dressed like Santa had a stick, and he stated he believed it would be used as a weapon. The non-Santa man stated he believed he had to defend his manhood and couldn’t walk away from the situation.

An officer spoke with the complainant who advised he invited his ex-girlfriend over to his apartment. While at the above address, he had to leave shortly after her arrival due to a family emergency. As he was leaving, he could no longer locate his phone and believes she stole it. They then got into a verbal argument. He claims she ran into him with her vehicle, causing him to fall on top of the vehicle’s hood, but not causing any physical damage to him or the vehicle. The officer attempted to make contact with the female, but she did not answer the door and did not have a working phone number. Later the complainant returned to the station to advise that the female had returned his phone but now possibly slashed his tires. The incident occurred around 1630 and 1700 hours on 12/24/2023. The officer will see if the Willard Apartments have video of both incidents that occurred. The male called back to advise there are now more scratch marks on the vehicle and an additional flat tire on his vehicle. Pictures of the new scratch marks were taken, however, at this time, no evidence to show the ex-girlfriend committed the crime. An officer spoke with the female who advised she will bring a timestamp showing she was at work at the time of the incident and will fill out a statement. The officer spoke to the property manager about the incident. The manager attempted to access the security video but was unable to obtain the requested date. The officer obtained a number for the corporate office that has access to the security system. The officer requested the security footage and was advised that they could possibly forward it by email. The female party came on station wanting to file a report for threats. The female was provided with statement forms to complete and return. She will follow up with the officer.

The caller states she is intoxicated and her boyfriend is intoxicated and they got physical. The caller states they were not physically fighting, just “pushing each other.” At the beginning of the call, the female said the male jumped on her and choked her and she has marks on her neck. The caller then said the male left 20 minutes ago and the caller did not want EMS. She was so intoxicated she did not know the address, only the name of the apartment and the apartment number. An officer spoke with the female, she stated nothing physical happened and she’s OK. The male’s son picked him up and took him home to keep the peace for the night.

The officers spoke with a complainant in the lobby who advised that a recently fired employee admitted to making unauthorized purchases on a company credit card issued temporarily to him totaling approximately $2,000. The complainant advised he spoke with an officer on 8/2/23. The officers advised the complainant on civil and criminal options and the complainant stated he would like to call the suspect and give him a final chance to return the funds before further action.

A mother reported her 40-year-old son came over to the home, and she does not want him there. He is not reported to live there. The male is currently asleep upstairs. The mother thinks he’s homeless. He has been there since 1400 hours. The complainant went to the neighbor’s home to call the police, so this info is from when she was last in the house. She was told she needs to go outside and wait. Officers located the son upstairs in the closet, sleeping in the corner. He reluctantly left and was not happy with his mother’s decision. He was advised for trespass.

The caller’s ex-husband came over to the house when she was not home. He knocked on the door but the children did not answer and went downstairs. He was gone prior to police arrival. The female said he does not live there, and they have been divorced for a while. She was advised to get a protection order through Cuyahoga County if she wants to help keep him from contacting her or going to her home.

The complainant stated on 12/21/23 at approximately 1830 hours, two males were in the parking lot of the apartment. The complainant stated he was sitting in his vehicle, when one of the males walked around his vehicle and looked through the windows. The complainant found the activity suspicious and requested officers check the lot at night.
