The caller states that an 18-year-old female stole his phone. The caller stated they just got into an argument, and he just realized she left with his phone. She was last seen driving a Toyota Camry.

Rockside Road (U-Haul)
The caller let someone use her credit card to get a U-Haul and they didn’t return it, and now there is a $1,000 dollar charge on her credit card. An officer spoke to the complainant who advised that she and her husband have a property that they purchased furniture for and had their handyman set to pick up the items. The handyman’s van broke down and they were already late in getting the furniture so the complainant rented a U-Haul truck for the handyman using a credit card over the phone. The rental was only for one day. The handyman did not return the vehicle, resulting in the complainant’s credit card being charged. The complainant called the handyman about the incident and told him that they were going to file a police report. The vehicle was returned to the U-Haul location this morning. The complainant was advised that this is a civil matter and advised of her options to pursue matters through the small claims court.

On Monday there was a juvenile that was messing around with the complainant’s cameras. The male attempted to damage the camera and also made derogatory comments. An officer viewed the surveillance camera footage of what appears to be a male juvenile using a stick to hit the camera; which is on a tree in the front lawn. No actual damage was done to the camera and the complainant posted the video in a Bedford Neighborhood Watch forum in an attempt to identify the suspect.

The complainant reports that a male took food and left the store without paying for the items. The complainant followed the male outside to a white Jeep. The suspect entered the vehicle and left towards the school. The total value of the theft is $12.41. The complainant stated that the store would pursue charges.

The female in the lobby requested a report for identity theft. The complainant stated on February 2, she was contacted by an unknown person purporting to be from Spectrum TV. The unknown person stated they were going to upgrade her service for a small fee. The complainant provided her debit card and social security number. The female contacted Spectrum and was advised they have no record of a phone call made to her. This week, an iPhone was delivered to her house via FedEx that she did not order. She then received an additional call from an unknown person purporting to be from Spectrum Mobile who emailed the complainant a link on where to send the phone. The complainant has contacted her bank and the credit bureau. At this time the complainant is not out any funds. Information is on file.

In the storage room on the bottom floor, someone took all the money out of the machine for the laundry. It happened sometime overnight. Person(s) forced entry into a laundry-card loading machine and stole the cash from inside the machine. Unknown as to how much cash was in the machine at the time of the theft. If the complainant is able to get a dollar amount from the company that runs the machine, they will call back with the amount.

Two females utilized the self checkout register and rang up numerous sundries. The duo then feigned paying as if they were utilizing a payment system on their phone. Unbeknownst to the employee, the pair then wheeled the stolen items out the door and fled the scene in a vehicle. The complainant stated that she believes that this criminal tandem is responsible for multiple thefts at numerous Dollar General stores throughout Northeast Ohio. The complainant stated that she has observed these two females’ pictures on the managers channel that the Dollar General managers share information on. Total value of the theft is estimated to be between $300 to $400.

A female called 9-1-1 reporting that a male put his hands on her, and she was leaving. When dispatch told her they needed her to stay to take the report and to either wait outside or go to the police department, the female started yelling at dispatch and would not give further information other than the male was inside and she was outside and hung up. When dispatch attempted to call the female back, she answered and told dispatch to “die slow.” An officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone with an issue.

The complainant wanted to make a report about her husband taking her car keys. They are in the process of getting a divorce. He left the home before officers arrived. She is going to get a ride to her mother’s house and take some clothing items with her. The complainant’s husband is not taking the situation well. She is going to let him calm down and try to get him to drop off the keys later.

The caller states that there is a male with a gun in his hand beating on the nearby door. He is wearing a black jacket, dark pants and a black ski mask. The male put the gun in his waistband. It was a black handgun. The caller states that a younger female in her mid-20s lives at the apartment the male was beating on, but she does not know the female’s name. The caller disconnected the line and will be attempting to call back. Dispatch attempted to call the number back a few times, and it is going straight to voicemail. Officers arrived and one of the apartment doors is open. The officer spoke with a neighbor, and she states she did not call. Officers also spoke to the female who lived at the apartment in question, and she states she did not hear anyone at her door. There are currently no issues here.

The caller advised her husband is intoxicated, and she is trying to get in the vehicle to drive him home, but he grabbed her arm and pulled on it. She went inside the business and called for assistance. The female does have the keys to the vehicle. Officers spoke with both parties. Everything has calmed down and the wife is now driving the husband home.

An officer spoke with the complainant in the lobby. He stated that throughout the past few weeks his daughter’s ex-boyfriend has been calling and texting each member of his family making threats to damage their property and to contact their places of work and spread rumors. The complainant was advised to not respond to the messages and screen shot them if the harassment continues. The officer attempted to contact the suspected male and was unable to make contact. A message was left for him to call back the police department.

The victim reports sometime overnight, a person (unknown) took scrap metal from their dumpster. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate any working security cameras. The scrap was described as being small press machines. It is unknown at this time how much scrap was taken.

Northfield Road (Family Dollar)
The caller is advising that an employee just pushed the caller up against the cooler. Officers responded for an assault report. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller who claims that an employee pushed him against a cooler and restricted his movements around the store. The male claims the other male gives him a hard time every time he comes into the store. The complainant did not have any visible injuries when officers were first speaking with him. He was asked if he had any injuries, and he did not immediately say he did. After officers stepped away for a minute and came back, the complainant showed officers what appeared to be self-inflicted scratch marks on his face. The male was given a written statement to complete and made no mention of getting scratched or hit in the face. Officers then spoke to the manager and employee. The manager stated she did not see any physical altercation. The manager was able to get the video cameras to work, and they show the complainant as the primary aggressor. He was advised of this and no longer wishes to pursue charges. Neither party wishes to pursue charges. No further police action needed at this time.

A verbal argument took place between a mother and daughter. The daughter escalated and pulled a knife. The daughter stated her mother punched her in the face. The mother stated she pushed her daughter back at which time she possibly tripped over a piece of furniture, injuring her ankle. The daughter was transported to Marymount and advised she would stay with the grandmother to keep the peace. The mother is downstairs with her husband.

An officer spoke with the male complainant in the police department lobby requesting a report for a firearm that was stolen. The male advised he was contacted by Silver Lake Police Department on 01/30 regarding his firearm being recovered by their department after an arrest involving a stolen vehicle. The male advised he last remembers having his firearm in his vehicle and was unaware it was stolen. The male also explained that he did not notice his vehicle to be broken into, and that he still had possession of his magazine with ammunition. The male last remembers having possession of his firearm sometime in mid-January. The officer spoke with the Silver Lake Police Department detective regarding the incident. At this time, it is unknown when or where the firearm was stolen from the complainant. The complainant was advised the incident will be documented and to contact Silver Lake police department for further information.

Caller completed a fraud report with her local police department (Sagamore Hills) when she noticed a suspicious ATM transaction after using her debit card at this ATM. Shortly afterward, Sagamore police contacted her to say that someone else was reporting the same type of fraud from the same ATM. She decided to let Bedford police know, and thought an officer might check the ATM machine for a card skimmer since there were repeated offenses at the same machine. Officers checked both ATMs. They appear to be OK.

A homeowner is reporting suspicious activity. An orange Kia parked in the back parking lot was occupied by four males, and it cut through the parking lot. They then came across the street to the caller’s house. A male stood in front of the caller’s house. Then the car came to Broadway Avenue and picked up a child. The caller got into his own car, and the caller followed the orange car. The caller didn’t get any plate information. The vehicle made a right on Broadway and left. The caller would like to speak with an officer regarding this activity. The caller is concerned because he feels the activity of the male described above is suspicious, and he was upset he was standing in front of his house for an extended period of time. He asked for officers to keep an eye on the area behind the parking lot for nefarious behavior.

The caller works at Medina Auto Mall. He lives on Paul Street and said he believes one of the vehicles stolen from their dealership is on the street now, a GM 2-door Challenger. The vehicle is parked further down on Paul Street going away from Northfield Road. The vehicle appears to be possibly occupied by two people. The vehicle does not have any plates on it; it still has the auction writing on the driver window and windshield. The caller never saw anyone leave the vehicle. Officers checked Paul Street. No vehicles were parked. Officers checked the area. No Dodge Challengers were seen.

The caller states that a male at her place is not on lease, and she wants him to leave due to threats of throwing hot oatmeal on her this morning. There was no violence, just verbal at this time. Officers responded to the residence for a report of an unwanted guest. Officers spoke with the male who advised he never threatened the female and that he would voluntarily remove his property from the residence and leave to keep the peace. Officers stood by as the male gathered his property and both parties were advised to contact the police department if an escort is required at a later time. It checks OK.

The caller advised there is someone banging on her front door and windows. The caller does not know who it is. The female arrived in a black SUV. She appears to be in her 20s. She just left towards Grand Park Circle. An officer went out to the vehicle at Grand Boulevard and Eldred Avenue. The female was a solicitor from AT&T and was advised and is leaving.
