The complainant advised that sometime between 5/7/21 and 5/10/21, person(s) unknown drove over the grass on the soccer field at Hutchinson. The vehicle entered the field by the baseball diamond and drove eastbound over the grass to the other parking lot.  Tire tracks are present, but the damage appears to be minor.

The caller is reporting that her ex-husband is playing loud music downstairs.  She says she is afraid for her life. The female had a couple of shots of bourbon. Officers are on the scene and a squad is needed for a mental evaluation.

The caller’s car was just hit by a blue older sports car. They have the accident on camera at Family Dollar. The suspected car went down Lincoln Boulevard and turned onto Ivanhoe Road.  The accident happened on Columbus Road. The caller has a 6-month-old in the car and is declining a squad. No injuries were reported. An officer spotted a dark green Honda with heavy front-end damage driven by a male. The officer is now following the vehicle to Bear Creek Drive. A tire may be falling off the car. The officer is transporting two juveniles and one female to Bear Creek.

Caller states that someone called him stating that he would be arrested, and he is upset. The complainant stated that he has received three calls from a particular number, and today he answered the call. The caller advised him that there was a warrant for his arrest and attempted to get his Social Security Number. The complainant stated that he did not give the caller his information. The officer advised the male that it was a scam to get his personal information, and possibly to try to get him to give them money to avoid jail. The male was advised that the Bedford Police Department would not call asking for any of his personal information. The male was also advised that if he continues to get these scam calls, to report them to the Ohio’s Attorney General’s office.

A female caller and her boyfriend were having a verbal argument over the caretaking of the boyfriend’s father who also lives at the residence. The boyfriend, who owns the house, was advised on the eviction process since the girlfriend has been staying there and has belongings there. The girlfriend was leaving for work all night to keep the peace.

The caller alleges that another female is sending her harassing texts. The texts come from different phone numbers, and she has received about one per month since February. The caller believes that the other female is harassing her because the caller responded to a direct message from the female’s fiance. An officer spoke with the suspect on the phone who denied any involvement in the texts. All three parties came to the station to talk. At this point it does not appear that the suspect is responsible for the texts. The caller was told that if the texts continue after this day, to contact the department.

An officer spoke to the caller who stated she was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot. She states an employee of the business was pushing shopping carts when one of them hit the front of the vehicle causing minor damage. The caller states that she spoke to the manager of the business who asked her to make a police report, and they will cover it. No further police action needed at this time.

A male caller went into the barbershop to get a haircut. While going inside, the caller remembered an older looking male in a black coat hanging outside of the building. When the caller came outside to get his bike after 20 minutes, the bike was gone along with the older male. The bike is described as a gray mountain bike, large tires, and has a phone pouch. The male did not know the brand or have a serial number. The bike was valued at an estimated $350-$400.

An officer spoke with the complainant who stated that while he was buying a car, an unknown employee(s) went into his trade-in car and stole marijuana and a liquor bottle. The complainant was advised to contact upper management regarding his complainant. The complainant then left the property. A short time later, North Coast Auto employees stated that the complainant went back to the business and was causing a disturbance. He was leaving as an officer was arriving.

Woodrow Avenue (Tavern Off Broadway)
A female complainant is reporting that she was assaulted by a former co-worker while the two were with separate friends at the tavern. The complainant alleges that the other female came up from behind her, they argued for a few seconds, then the female started attacking the complainant. The complainant had bruises to her arms, a swollen lip, a laceration and swelling to her left eye area. The complainant’s glasses were also broken in the altercation. The complainant’s friend was contacted and had a statement similar to hers. The friend added that while she was trying to break up the fight, she and the suspected aggressor began fighting. The friend provided photographs of herself that showed she had several bruises and scrapes from the altercation. An officer was able to make contact with the suspect and spoke to her about the incident. The female stated that while she was outside on the patio, the complainant started calling her names. She stated that the complainant’s friend came up to her and got in a fighting stance. She stated the friend threw a punch at her and the two started physically fighting. After a short period, people came out of the bar to break up the fight. The suspect had a swollen lip, three broken finger nails and several bruises from the altercation. An officer attempted to obtain video from the bar as there is a camera on the patio, but the camera system was not recording on the day of the incident. The complainant does wish to pursue charges. The suspect stated she wants to put the incident behind her but will press charges if necessary. This incident call and all available information will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for a review of charges. The specific charges to be reviewed are assault and disorderly conduct.

A female’s mother is reportedly fighting her and choking her. The mother is chasing the caller down the street. The female isn’t answering upon call back. Officers were dispatched to the area and located a juvenile female walking on the sidewalk. The juvenile was upset and crying and stated that her mother choked her. Officers spoke to both parties, and the juvenile was given permission to go with her stepmother in order to keep the peace. The juvenile was turned over to the stepmother who was advised of the incident. Information will be forwarded to the prosecutor for a ruling. Children and Family Services was notified of the incident.

A previous tenant just attempted to gain access into his old apartment. The caller is just a neighbor. The male went through the window on the side of the porch. There is a gun clip with live bullets still on the property, and this is what the male used to pry the window open. The male did not make an entry. A loaded handgun magazine was photographed and removed from the window. The person reporting stated the property owner is out of town. The magazine was placed into property. The male was gone upon the arrival of officers.

The caller advised that the female driver of another car looked at the caller, and the driver looked like she was scared. The caller is not sure if the male was having her do something that she was afraid to do, but she looked scared. The caller is no longer at the bank. The vehicle was around the back of the bank, and the caller was a customer. The bank lot was empty upon officers’ arrival.

An officer spoke with the male in question at Bedford Recycling, who stated he found some scrap metal in the woods of the Metroparks. A few small steel pipes and other debris were located in the shopping cart he was pushing.

A female is reporting her ex-boyfriend is outside waiting in a truck. The caller advised the male has been stalking her. The male got out and came to the door, but the caller did not let him in. The male is now waiting inside his vehicle again. Officers spoke to the male who stated he was there to get his property. The female stated he had no property at the house, and he keeps coming to the house to stalk her. He was advised to go through the courts for the property and was advised of trespassing.

The complainant called to report that three vehicles were damaged between 1800 hours on 05/16/2021 and 1000 hours on 05/17/2021. An unknown subject(s) came into the dealership and scratched three vehicles. The complainant said he has no issues with any past customers. He is trying to find the video to see if the incident is on his camera system.

The business needs to report that a dealer tag has been fraudulently obtained using the business’ credentials. According to an employee, a female from North Carolina purchased a vehicle and they were going to allow her to use a dealer tag. However, the employee states that they were having an issue with getting the dealer tag to the female. A male came to the dealership stating he was acting on behalf of the female and was there to get the dealer tag. The dealer tag was given to him. The female contacted the dealership and wanted to know why they gave the tag to the male as she is having an issue with the male stalking her in North Carolina. The employee stated that the female is in possession of the dealer tag, and she will send it back when she is done using it. The dealership wanted the information on file as they state the male signed the paperwork for the tag in the female’s name.

A female is requesting to speak to an officer in reference to threats she is receiving from another female. She advised that this female has kicked in her door in the past in Bedford Heights and now is threatening to do the same to her new residence in Bedford. The female stated that the other female does not know where she lives now. She was advised not to answer the calls from the other female and to contact the police if the other person were to show up at her apartment.

Near the apartments caddy-corner from Giant Eagle, several shots were reportedly fired. The caller was a passerby and can give no further information. Another call came in from the same location that stated about 15 shots were fired. The car sped off. Units checked the area. Officers also spoke to a male on McKinley Street who stated he heard the shots. He states that it sounded like it was coming from a house three houses to the east of Northfield on Solon. He states that this occurs frequently and was advised by officers to call the police whenever he hears gunshots. Officers thoroughly checked the rest of the area.

Damage to a window is being reported at the business. The damage to the window was from a shooting incident that took place Monday 05/17/2021 at 2209 hours. Two vehicles were driving north on the Northfield Road Bridge. Unknown subject(s) from one of the vehicles shot at the other vehicle. A fragment from a bullet was found in Bill’s Auto.

The complainant stated that when he woke up, an unknown clear substance was found on two of his cars. He stated it is the second time this has happened in the past three days. There are tiny clear spots all over two of his vehicles. The complainant is a painter and stated it appeared to be like a clear coating of paint in mist form. The officer checked with the asphalt business behind his property and the owner stated no one has worked outdoors in the area since COVID hit. There is a paint stripping business southwest of the asphalt company, but it is implausible that the substance could have travelled that far in mist form. The complainant stated he does not have any problems with anyone, and neither does his wife or family. He will not be making an insurance claim and was advised a report would be on file.

An officer responded to the residence for a report of harassment. The female complainant stated her ex-husband has been driving around in front of her residence. They have children together but no exchange is scheduled today. The female did state that they were involved in a verbal altercation approximately two months ago in Maple Heights. The female also stated due to their custody agreement with their children, the male does at times come to the residence for a custody exchange, or they meet at a public setting. Due to the incidents, the female advised she wanted her ex-husband trespassed from her residence. The female was also advised of using City Hall as an exchange place and of how to obtain a protection order. The officer made contact with the male via phone and he stated he was never at the female’s residence. The male also advised that they do not have a custody agreement. The male was advised he was trespassed from the residence. No further police action is required at this time.

A mother brought her 19-year-old son into the Bedford Medical Center for a mental evaluation. He is not being committed and will be released in the next 25 minutes. The mother advised doctors at the ER that her son threatened her earlier today with a knife at the house in Bedford and punched her in the head in Parma. The mother was not injured, but she is scared of her son. She also advised the hospital that he has access to an assault rifle. The mother went home to John Street and was reluctant to contact police out of fear. An officer spoke to the caller. She stated she wanted to pursue charges. The caller also stated the male told her mother that he would chop her head off. They were asked to come to the station to fill out statements. Officers spoke to the male at the ER, who denied making any threats. The emergency room doctor stated that he was scared for his mother’s life and did not think the male should be at home because he may harm her.  They asked if it was possible if the male could be taken to Marymount Hospital  for a 72-hour mental evaluation hold. In addition, the family wanted the police department to hold a KA-BAR knife, magazines, rifle ammo, and an ASP baton to keep them away from the male.

A black Kia was stolen out of the lot within the last few minutes. Bedford checked their area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

An officer responded to a business parking lot for a report of vandalism. The complainant advised he was parked on the back row of the parking lot near the rear of a nearby house on Forbes Road. While parked there, an unknown person(s) threw mud on his vehicle. The complainant advised he did not observe any damage currently, but wanted the officer to make contact with the residents of home due to a mud pile being in their backyard along the fence line. The officer made contact with the female resident of the home who was advised of the incident. She spoke with her two children and determined they threw the mud onto the vehicle. The complainant and female were able to speak to each other and come up with a solution on their own. Both parties were advised the incident was documented, and no further police action required.

A male contacted the female caller and stated that he was cut on his arm by his mother and is bleeding very badly. The caller is not on scene. The male told the caller not to call the police and wants the caller to pick him up. An officer is requesting a squad for the male and another squad for the mother, a 64-year-old female with chest pains. The squad for the female will also be for an evaluation due to the female making comments of harming herself. The police were unable to get a statement from the male due to him being uncooperative with officers and the hospital staff. The hospital will call back if he becomes cooperative, or before he gets released.

Officers talked to the female who stated she went over to her baby’s father’s house in Bedford Heights and they got into an argument. She stated he then spit on her car, grabbed her by the hair and then punched her in the face. The female then grabbed her child and left. Officers talked to Bedford Heights Police who stated they got different stories from the parties on scene there. Officers advised the female to go to Bedford Heights to state her side of the story and to clear up the accusations against her.

A male would like to report being threatened while he was in the parking lot of the restaurant. The complainant stated on 5/10/21 he ran into his ex-girlfriend. The complainant stated he recently moved out of her residence and asked her when he could gather his belongings. During the course of their conversation, the complainant alleged the female threatened him by stating her son, “is going to see you.” On 5/15/21, the complainant was escorted by Maple Heights Police to the female’s residence for him to collect his personal items. The complainant stated the female and her son have been calling him and threatening him since the incident at IHOP. The complainant stated he is unable to block their phone numbers from calling him because they call from different numbers each time. The complainant requested an officer contact them to advise them not to contact him.

The caller said a family from a nearby residence is outside of the apartment building fighting, and there is a female with a knife. The caller says they are all right in front of the porch. The female that has the knife now has a gun. Another call came from a male. He hears people yelling outside of the building. The people are talking about getting a gun. He can’t see anything, and says he’s lying on the ground not looking but knows there are about five males and females. A boyfriend and girlfriend were involved in a verbal argument while the male was gathering his belongings. The male had a couple of friends arrive on scene, one of which was open carrying according to the female’s family members. The female then grabbed her gun saying they felt threatened. Both handguns were secured when officers were on the scene and the male finished grabbing his property without incident. All parties involved were advised to keep the firearms out of play in the future.

An officer responded to Circle K and spoke with an employee for a report of a theft. The employee stated a male entered the store, grabbed two water bottles, three bottles of orange juice and a pack of crackers, then brought said items to the front counter. The employee then told the male to put a mask on, after which he became upset and briskly walked out of the store with the items without paying and entered a tan Chrysler van. According to the employee, the male is a regular customer and comes into the store everyday between 0700 and 1100 hours. The employee stated the amount of the theft was around $15. The employee was then advised to contact the police once the man returns to the store to be trespassed.

The female is advising that the females were involved in a fight, vandalized her car and stole her car key. She is advising that they also dumped something white on her car.

The father advised his son is having a mental decline and needed to be admitted for an evaluation and medication, but the son is refusing. The son was transported to his grandmother’s residence to keep the peace and the father was advised to contact a mobile crisis hotline or transport his son himself to get some help.

He says she calls the police often and makes up stories about him, and he wants the police to know that he’s just trying to keep her calm in order to get through the night. A male is on the scene threatening the caller’s life. The caller said he assaulted and tried to bite her face. The male is currently in the basement using power tools, trying to cut up the plumbing. She was woken up from her sleep when the male was using power tools in the basement. She then claims that he came up and punched her in the face and bit her nose. The complainant had no visible injuries or redness on her face. She wants the male evicted from the home. The homeowner showed paperwork stating the male has until 6/4/21 to vacate the home, but the paperwork does not appear to be filed with the court. The complainant wanted to file assault charges against the male. She was advised to sober up and complete a statement in the morning.

While in the store the unknown male stole four white “RAW” hats valued at approximately $100 and fled out of the store. The officer asked the complainant if they wanted to pursue charges but she declined. She stated she wanted the male trespassed from the store if identified. There is surveillance footage of the theft which was obtained but did not show any identifiable characteristics.

The caller was advised to block the person’s phone numbers and report any further issues. The male was also advised to no longer use that cash app, as he stated he was scammed through it before. Officers spoke to the caller who stated that three weeks ago, a female threatened to shoot her husband’s head off because there were accusations of the daycare physically discipling children. The caller wishes that the female be told she is not allowed back there. Officers spoke to the female who stated she never made such threats. The female also stated that her children were physically disciplined at the daycare on three separate occasions starting three weeks ago. The children have no marks on them and no documentation was taken at the times of the alleged assaults. The female advised she will be pulling her kids out of that daycare but would like the police to follow up to make sure there’s no foul play going on at the facility. The female says she has cameras inside the daycare and will contact police when they are able to access those specific dates with allegations.

The male on the scene stated the female that caused the damage was his sister’s friend, and that he witnessed the incident. The female suspect was also identified by the vehicle owner. The female advised she would contact the police department on 06/03 if she wishes to pursue charges for criminal damaging. An officer provided the male witness with a witness statement to complete and photographed the damage.

Officers responded to the motel for a report of a suspicion. The person reporting, the owner, stated a male wearing a black jacket was in his laundry room that was supposed to be locked. The owner also advised that one of his patron’s cell phone and money are missing. The patron advised he is missing $132 in cash and a Motorola cell phone valued at $149. Officers located the male matching the description in the laundry room walking down Solon Road and made contact with him. The male stated he was dropped off at the motel at approximately 0400 hours by a Lyft and was attempting to meet a female but was unsuccessful. The male did show proof that his Lyft arrival time was around 0400 hours. The male consented to officers searching his person, and neither the phone nor money was located. The officer then returned to the patron’s room who had reported the theft to look around the motel room. The officer observed numerous empty bottles of alcohol and the patron stated he went to sleep around 0230 hours. The patron appeared to be slightly intoxicated and unsure of what time he returned to the motel room for the evening. The officer then made contact with the motel manager and reviewed surveillance footage of the room from 0000-0400 hours. No person(s) were located entering/exiting or loitering around the room. The only individual located entering or exiting the room was the patron. The owner also advised he was watching the surveillance footage a majority of night and did not see anyone else enter the patron’s room. The patron stated he believes his room was locked before going to sleep and the surveillance footage shows the room door being closed at all times. The patron was given a witness statement and a stolen/lost article addendum to complete if he wishes. At this time, there is no footage or suspect(s) of the alleged theft.
