A male is stating that someone came into his room and stole money out of his wallet. Approximately $500 was taken. Officers spoke to the male complainant who believes that his current wife (who is not currently staying there) and her friend are planning to have him killed. He stated his friend allegedly overheard a phone conversation where the wife was detailing her plans. This friend was not on the scene and the complainant was unable to contact him. He was given advice about how to get a divorce and how to get a protection order.

A resident reports a street sign is down and an object is lying next to it. Officers located the damaged street sign which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. Debris from the vehicle was scattered in the tree lawn. Officers located the suspected vehicle parked on the street with heavy front end damage and a flat front right tire. The debris at the accident scene matched the vehicle. Officers were unable to make contact with the owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed due to it being disabled and involved in a hit-skip. The service department was contacted to repair the damaged sign. A hold was placed on the vehicle until the driver can be identified and insurance information is given. Later, officers made contact with the owner/driver via Facebook. She provided insurance information and will come to the station to be served her citation.

Forbes Road and Interstate 271
Officers spoke to a female complainant in the lobby. She stated that yesterday evening when she was driving south on I-271 near Forbes Road, a large piece of metal was sitting in the center lane and she was unable to avoid it. It got lodged in her front bumper and caused minor damage to the front. She pulled to the shoulder and dislodged the piece of metal. Officers checked back in the recent history, but they were unable to locate any accidents in the area that would have left this metal behind. Officers documented the damage and provided the complainant with the report number.

A disagreement is taking place between a husband and wife. It is unknown if the male has had any drugs or alcohol, but the caller has not had any. No weapons are involved. It is a verbal argument only at this time. The caller’s 26-year-old son is also in the home. The male is currently upstairs and the caller is downstairs. Officers found that the male was highly intoxicated and disturbing the others inside the house. The male agreed to go to bed for the night. The male is EWW with the department for failure to appear on a disorderly conduct charge from 2018. Officers had left the residence before realizing this. A second attempt to make contact was made with negative results. The home was dark.

The homeowner said a scammer sent a taxi to this address. The homeowner did not order a taxi. Officers spoke with the driver of the cab service. The driver had gotten a ticket to pick up a resident and take them to the post office. The phone number that called to order the taxi was a spoofed phone number from Kingston, Jamaica. He was asked to flag the residence so as not to send out any other taxis. The resident was warned not to speak with unknown callers and not to share information.

The caller got a letter from a male who has been told to stay away and stop contacting her. An officer spoke to the complainant who advised that for the past nine-and-a-half years she has been receiving calls from a male who has been trying to contact her daughter saying that they are engaged. The complainant stated that her daughter had a brain injury and has lost her short term memory and is currently living in an assisted living facility in Stow. She advised that the male who is attempting to contact her daughter has been to several courts and told to not have any contact with the family. The complainant stated that he has attempted to contact her daughter in the assisted living facility, but due to security procedures in place, he cannot talk to her. The complainant wanted the information on file in the event that she needs to take the male back to court.

An officer spoke with a male in the lobby for a report of fraud. The male stated he noticed an $800 deduction from his credit union checking account. The male stated he did not use his debit card for such a transaction and his bank advised him to make a report to be reimbursed.

The complainant received a call reporting her grandson was in jail. She then received a call from a bondsman asking her for bond money. The complainant felt this call was suspicious. An officer spoke with the caller and advised her the call was a common scam and to block the phone number(s) of any incoming calls she received.

The female complainant stated she has been having ongoing disputes with her ex-boyfriend that she lives with. The officer listened to the voicemail where the ex-boyfriend states he wants to take a computer from his girlfriend. No threats of physical harm or harm to property were made to the female. The female was advised to stay somewhere else, since she is not on the lease agreement, and to contact the police if there are direct threats or physical harm.

Complainant reports his business checkbook was stolen sometime last year. The theft was not reported at the time of the incident because the account was closed after the theft was discovered. The Valley View Police Department reported to the victim that one of the stolen checks was used to purchase a vehicle from a dealership. Valley View is investigating the fraudulent check case and is requesting that Bedford has a report of the checks being stolen.

The caller is saying her 18-year-old son is causing issues. She asked him to leave, and he keeps kicking at the door and refusing to leave. There are no weapons involved and no intoxication. The son called the department stating he just wants his belongings so he can go to work today. There is a black and white pit bull mix outside. Caller states the dog is not aggressive and he will hold him when the officers get there. The party retrieved the items and left.

A male is reporting a theft that happened in Bedford at a dealership. He lives in Mentor. An officer spoke with the complainant who stated the salesman told him the price for his car was $10,000, and the complainant put $4,000 down in cash. The male sent the officer the purchase agreement where it was learned the complainant actually paid $12,750 for the car. He was advised it was a civil matter, and he can also contact the Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General’s Office to discuss the dishonest business practices of the dealership.

A caller states she was dropping off her 16-year-old son at work at Marco’s. There was a confrontation in the parking lot between the caller and a male, and the male is now threatening to kill the caller’s son. The suspect is inside the store. The caller’s son is now inside as well to get to work. Officers found that it was a mutual verbal argument over parking in the parking lot. All parties were advised to stay away from each other.

Two males walked into the service department from Flora Avenue. Per the employees, one of the males is a regular customer who brings his girlfriend’s car into the shop. The males walked down the back hallway and past the service garage bays and entered the main showroom area. One of the males entered the manager’s open office and took three vending machine change canisters and the keys to an Audi that was in for service, and walked back out of the dealership by the service area. The males walked east down Flora Avenue with one male holding an object by his right side. They have video of the customer entering and leaving the business.

The complainant is in the lobby stating his child’s mother is not following the court order and he would like to speak to an officer in reference to this issue. The complainant stated that he has attempted to pick up his child on three different occasions, and each time he responds on his designated day, his ex does not answer the door. He stated that he was at the house on 5/1/20, 5/10/20 and 5/15/20. The complainant was advised about his options to contact the juvenile court about the matter and the department provided him with statement forms to complete.

The complainant said she is being harassed by phone, email, social media, and the person has also come to her home and job. She provided the department with copies of a Facebook messenger chain between two females. No threats of bodily harm were made and the female was advised to have no further contact with the suspect and advised of getting a civil protection order. An officer attempted to call the suspect’s old phone number. A message was left on a generic voicemail line. No call back was received.

Officers spoke to the caller who stated that sometime between 1900 hours and the time of the call, an unknown person(s) keyed his car. The caller stated his neighbor, who he has been dating on and off for about a year, slashed his tires last week in Warrensville Heights and believes she did this damage as well. He was advised to get a camera to prove any future incidents.

A female is reporting she is being contacted by a woman whom she has a protection order against. Bedford Police already have a pending warrant in reference to the suspect in question. The complainant has 15 phone calls from an unknown number. She picked up one of the phone calls and a voice she recognized as the suspect said she would “f— her up.” Since there is already a warrant in the system, she wanted the information documented for future court hearings.

The same caller from yesterday advised she has still been receiving threats from the mother of her boyfriend’s children. Threats were made 10-15 times between 2300 hrs and now. The suspect stated she was going to come to the caller’s house to beat her up. Officers responded to the suspect’s house and took her into custody on her warrant.

An overdose was reported, possibly on heroin. The 23-year-old male is breathing, but is going into seizures. Upon arrival by officers, the male was conscious and sitting on the couch. The male admitted to fire medics that he used heroin. Three syringes were located in his bedroom near the bed. The syringes were photographed and confiscated for safety of the family. The suspected heroin was seized. The male was transported to the Bedford Medical Center. The staff will call the department when the male is about to be released.

Officers spoke to a 17-year-old female complainant. She and her boyfriend (who has been staying at the residence for a week) got into a verbal argument and she wants him to leave. Her father (who was not on scene) is planning to buy the house from the current owner. The boyfriend wants to leave, he just does not have the means at this time, but will make arrangements to be gone by the afternoon. The female was advised of the eviction process and to contact her father about the living situation.

A caller states that last night a male sexually assaulted his girlfriend and her mother at this address. The caller advises that the male is sitting on the porch at this address right now, and the two female victims are down the street at a friend’s house. The caller stated that he wants police to go to this address and confront the male because if he gets home he will get assault charges. The caller was advised to go to the police department to start the process of filing a police report. The caller called back advising that he was calm now and wouldn’t do anything to get himself in trouble. He advised his girlfriend to come to the station to file a report for the assault, and he was going to stop at the station later for a trespassing complaint for his property.

An Officer was conducting a routine patrol when observing a male run across the street and attempt to open the door of an RTA bus in the middle of the intersection. The male was denied access to the bus and continued on down Northfield. Officers activated emergency equipment and drove up to the male to question him, and the male immediately got onto the ground and put his hands up. The male stated his vehicle broke down and when he noticed officers driving by he panicked and tried to get on the bus so he didn’t get caught. The male was worried because he had three EWWs, a suspended license, marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia on his person. The male was advised and released on his warrants and the owner picked up the vehicle. The contraband was taken and entered into property to be destroyed.

The caller’s ex came to the caller’s home today and threw her property from her house onto the front lawn. The male is no longer at the location. The incident happened over an hour ago, and the female advised there is a protection order in place. The female said she would like to speak with an officer in ways to further protect herself. The caller was advised to contact the department if the male returned. She was given directions downtown to obtain a protection order if she feels it necessary. The male was advised of the complaint and stated he would stop all communication. He stated he was dropping off photographs of them and has no further reason to go there.

Officers responded to the above location for a panic alarm. Upon arrival, officers located outside of the business a male with a large laceration which was bleeding on his left hand. The suspect stated that he slipped and fell, causing him to punch through a window. The male was transported to Bedford Medical Center by the squad and officers. Maple Heights Police responded to the medical center for pickup. The suspect is EWW with Maple Heights for felony domestic violence. Damage to the business interior was photographed. The owner on the scene advised he did not want to press charges but would like the incident documented for insurance purposes.

Officers checked the vacant home for damage and it checked OK. The occupants of the car followed the male to the correct address.

She says that she told them to stop and one of them came up to her apartment and started knocking on the door. She does not know who they are, and now she feels like they are targeting her. An officer spoke with the complainant regarding live turtles being taken from his pond. The complainant stated that sometime in August of 2019, he noticed five turtles were missing from his small pond on the property. After speaking with several neighbors, he was provided information from a juvenile who said a girl living on the street was involved. Sometime in October of 2019, the complainant visited the house of the juvenile girl and told the male there that his daughter was a suspect in the turtle theft. The male asked his daughter about the incident, and she confessed to only taking one of the turtles. At that point, the complainant told the male he needed $55 as compensation for the theft. As of October 2019, the male had not paid. The officer spoke with the male and advised him, per the complainant, he can either pay him the $55, or purchase another turtle. The male agreed and will take care of the matter.

The caller advised that there is a female ramming her car into the caller’s vehicle. The driver left and is heading onto Broadway Avenue. The female struck the caller’s vehicle four or five times. The caller does not know where she lives. Officers located the suspect’s car on Rockside Road. The female was possibly driving to Maple Heights. Officers are headed over to Magnolia. This is possibly a domestic, so officers are en route to attempt to get the male’s half of the story. The female is under arrest.
