The complainant has contacted his bank to dispute the charge but was informed the charge would not be reimbursed. The complainant was advised to follow-up with his bank to continue the dispute.

Officers spoke with a male in the lobby who requested police assistance picking up his child. The male states he has court documents that show tomorrow is his day, but the mother of the child advised the male that if he takes the child she would report he was kidnapped. The male was advised to call before going to the home to request officers if he believes there will be an issue.

In the first driveway on the left from Turney Road, it appears a car hit the carport and the structure is unstable. The caller heard a crash about three minutes ago. She went outside and noticed the damage but there was no one around. An officer arrived and spoke with the driver of the car. The driver advised that he started to pull through the carport to the rear when the roof of the carport collapsed onto the roof of the car. In viewing the damage to the vehicle and the carport, it appears that the car struck the support pole while pulling through the carport causing the roof to fall on the top of his vehicle. There are no reported injuries. No other vehicles were damaged at the time of this report. The officer contacted management and advised them of the accident and provided them with the report number.

Officers spoke to a female in the lobby. She has a court-ordered custody agreement with her 14-year-old child’s father. He has not followed the order and is refusing to return her son because he claimed she had him for a month. She’s aware it’s a civil matter for child custody court. She just wanted it documented.

The caller will be arriving shortly to pick up his son from the mother. They’d been discussing deviating from their court-ordered visitation, but nothing was ever agreed upon. He anticipates there will be a dispute when he arrives and is requesting an escort. He has the court visitation papers with him to document he is within his rights to pick up his son today. Officers spoke to the father and mother. They have been having an ongoing issue with following through with custody visitation days. The mother explained that the father agreed that the son could stay with her on his birthday (today) even though it was during his visitation week. The father then changed his mind and wanted his son back for the day. The father was provided the report number for court purposes. The mother was unwilling to let the son leave with the father.

The caller’s car was struck by a grey sedan that fled the scene. The caller got the license plate of the fleeing vehicle that left the area. The driver was an elderly male. An officer spoke to the complainant who stated the male driving the other car merged into his lane of travel, struck his vehicle and then left the scene. Officers ran the plate and the complainant identified the driver through a BMV photo. The department will follow up on the case.

Officers arrived on scene to find the male stating that his child’s mother “cut him.” The male was unable to say how he was cut or by what item, but he did have a visible cut on his hand. He refused EMS treatment. The child’s mother stated the male took her phone and smashed it on the ground. Officers did observe the female had one bruise on her eye. The male stated that the female had kicked in the door to the apartment. Officers observed there was damage to the door. Both parties live together in the apartment, and they were advised to go through the eviction process. Both had conflicting stories, and both were advised to fill out statements and bring them to the station. A primary physical aggressor was unable to be determined. The female was able to leave to keep the peace for the night. 696-KIDS was contacted due to children being present.

An officer responded to assist the complainant. The female did not answer the door, and she sent text messages stating she will not turn the child over to the complainant. A male woke up to find the tires slashed on three of his vehicles parked in the driveway. The complainant stated he got an alert from his truck about his tire pressure being flat at 0342 hours. The male stated his guess would be that his boss’s ex-boyfriend slashed the tires, but he has no evidence to support the claim. An officer checked the street for cameras but with negative results. The male does have cameras, but stated they were not on overnight.

The caller heard a gunshot, and claims it came from the area of the barber shop across the street from the police department. A black car was leaving the scene. A male who was shot ran out of the building in an unknown direction. The male had a full mask over his face. Officers cleared the building. Apparently the male shot himself in the bathroom. The male victim left in a black Ford after flagging down a ride. The male is reported to be at South Pointe.  A female dropped him off.

An officer spoke with a male who stated his ex-wife is calling him non-stop after she recently found out that he is having a child with his now girlfriend. The male stated she has a pending case regarding telecommunication harassment against her from last year. The officer then spoke with the ex-wife who stated that it is mutual and that he calls her frequently, but she agreed to only communicate with her ex-husband’s mother regarding visitation. The male was called back and updated on the conversation with her ex. He was advised to let officers know if she continues to call and was also advised to get a civil protection order if he wishes.

A male states he was assaulted by his ex-girlfriend. He is not injured. The male said she grabbed him and pulled on his clothes. They are both in the living room together. Upon arrival, officers met the female on the front porch. An officer spoke to the female who advised that the male wanted the car seat so he could take their son to a birthday party. The female stated that she told him that the car seat was with her mother. The female stated that the male started to pull on her purse which she was holding and was attempting to get her keys from the purse. The female stated that she did pull on the male’s shirt but stated that she did not hit him. The female advised that her mother was en route to the house with the car seat. The female stated that she went to Bedford Municipal Court for the eviction papers and was provided with a document advising the male to vacate the property by July 1. The female stated that she did serve the male with the paperwork and that he has a copy. The female stated that she will go to the court if the male is not out on the given date and proceed with the next step. She was also advised to seek assistance with the juvenile court and domestic relations court for a civil protection order. The female’s mother arrived, and the car seat was provided to the male. The male and the child left without incident.

Officers spoke with an automobile salesman and complainant who stated that a male took a vehicle for a test driver at approximately 1400 hrs and has not returned it. The male left his identification at the scene. Due to the business closing and not reopening until Monday, the complainant asked that the male return the vehicle to the station and turn the keys over to officers. Officers responded to a home on McKinley Avenue where the mother of the suspect advised that he had stopped by an hour ago, and she told him to return the vehicle but has not heard from him since. The male showed up with the car at the police station at around 0100 hours on June 28. He said he had every intention of bringing it back, but he ran out of gas after taking the car to go show his cousin. He states he is going to buy the car. He gave the police department the keys, and he was advised that the car would be turned back over to the dealership, and he can contact them on Monday.

An officer spoke with a female in the lobby for a report of harassment. The female stated her landlord has been harassing her for past-due rent money. She also stated her landlord entered the home while she was not there and checked a drawer to see if the rent money was there. The officer contacted the landlord who stated he will be evicting the female on July 1 if he does not receive the rent money. The landlord did mention he searched for the rent money inside the home, and he was advised to not enter the home for the specific purpose of obtaining rent money. The female sent a text to her landlord stating she does not have the rent money and will not be paying him. Both parties were advised that this is a court matter.

A customer lied to a driver and told him she had had already paid for food. The driver provided the food and now they are refusing to pay for it. The complainant stated a pizza was ordered and delivered to a female, but it was not paid for. An officer contacted the female who stated she provided her credit card information to the business twice over the phone. She stated the driver made comments to her that were threatening. The female was advised if an order for service was placed, she is responsible to pay the agreed upon amount. The female refused to provide her name over the phone. She stated she will contact the corporate office for the listed business and respond to the Bedford Police Department regarding the matter. The total amount owed is $12.55.

The caller advised that her step-dad hit her mom and pushed her into a table, and then punched the caller in the face. The male is intoxicated. The caller advised that the mom has a handgun and has a CCW. The caller advised she believes the gun is in a drawer. The caller advised that she was feeling head pain from being pushed, but she declined a squad. The caller is now arguing with the mom, and the mom wants the caller to hang up. The parents are arguing, and the caller advised that the police are in front of her house. The Maple Heights Police Department advised they can handle the situation. Bedford units are clearing.

A caller is reporting that her ex-husband is threatening her. He just left, and she now claims he is coming back in a blue car. The male is upset because he misplaced his food stamp cards and thinks that they are being stolen. Last night, he put his hands on the caller and now she’s afraid. He grabbed her and put her off the couch. Today he said, “Watch what’s going to happen to you.” The male is now on the scene and stated he has a gun. Officers arrived, and the male never made any threats with a weapon. The female gathered some items and took an Uber. She will call back if she needs further assistance.

The caller states that a male tried to get in his house and pulled a knife on him. The male suspect is now driving north on Broadway Avenue toward Rockside Road. The caller claims that there was some sort of argument that started over the male’s ex-wife. The caller ran after the suspect and is walking back toward his house now. Officers pulled over the suspect on the Rockside Road bridge. The suspect stated he found out that his wife was at W. Grace Street and wanted to see for himself. He stated he did not present a knife to the complainant nor did he break any windows. The male was advised of trespassing from the residence.

Officers responded to the area for a report of suspicion. The male complainant stated another male was walking a dog and moved the caller’s garbage cans away from the street and moved them next to his residence. The complainant stated when he spoke to the male subject, he was very argumentative and threatened him. Officers made contact with the male subject who stated he was walking his dog and was simply trying to be a good neighbor. The male subject stated the complainant was the one who was threatening him. Both parties stated the altercation was only verbal and that nothing physical occurred. The male subject was advised to leave the complainant’s property alone. No further police action required.

Loud music with a loud bass was coming from the area. The caller lives behind the business. Officers checked the area and spoke with several workers from the dealership. They stated a customer came through the area a short while ago in a Jeep. His music was very loud and the bass was shaking the building. They asked him to turn it down, and he left prior to the officers’ arrival. Officers advised them to call if he returns and continues to disturb the peace.

Officers located two un-reported runaway juveniles in the area of W. Glendale Street. The two juveniles left a respite home in Warrensville Heights at an unknown time. They were held on station while contact was made with 696-KIDS. After an okay from 696-KIDS, the juveniles were transported to Cleveland where they were released to the foster mother. Juvenile custody release forms were signed for both juveniles.

Officers spoke to a mother who stated her son has not taken his required medication and started to see demons. The son started acting out in an erratic manner and destroying windows and trashing the house to “save his mother from the demons.” The male was escorted to the ambulance by officers, and EMS transported him to the Bedford Medical Center. Officers stood by with hospital staff until the male was given meds to calm down. The mother was advised by officers on counseling and medication to help control the male.

An officer spoke with a male in the lobby for a report of an assault. The male stated on July 1, he was exiting Gasway on his motorcycle when he observed a small sedan stop abruptly on Broadway in front of the exit. Unknown person(s) in the passenger seat of the sedan then fired five to six shots directly at him with a BB gun and drove away northbound on Broadway. The male was not injured but minor damage was observed to the front of his motorcycle and his helmet. The male mentioned it was too dark to see the suspects or a license plate belonging to the vehicle. The officer will attempt to view video footage of the alleged incident. In the video, a vehicle was seen approaching the exit of where the male was. The vehicle did not stop abruptly and continued traveling north on Broadway. In the video, the male is seen looking left and right at the ground. The vehicle in question is a black sedan, but the officer was unable to see a license plate belonging to the vehicle. A Gasway employee will attempt to make a copy of the video.

A caller stated a salesman allowed a female to test drive a vehicle and she had not yet brought the vehicle back. The female told the salesman that she needed to drop her kids off during the test drive but would be back after. The female was not answering her phone. The caller was advised to contact the police if the vehicle did not return by Saturday. The caller called into dispatch to state that the vehicle was returned without damage, and that the female driver said she lost track of time.

The female did not make any threats, but the caller would like officers to contact her and tell her not to return to the business. The caller was advised to contact the police department if she returns to the business and causes an issue.

A juvenile is reporting that her father is threatening to hit his step mom. She now says he hit her in the face. They are in the living room. The male was getting in a four-door car. She doesn’t know which way he went. A squad was requested for the female involved in domestic, but it was refused. Officers attempted to speak to the female who would not speak with officers due to health reasons with low potassium. The female refused to communicate with officers in any kind of manner and was unable to determine what happened. The female also refused transport by EMS and would communicate very little with EMS. The female had no visible marks on her and was advised to come to the station when her health is better if she wishes to file a report.

A female is in the lobby to report that her son has taken money from her bank account. Officers spoke with the female who believes her son used her phone and password to transfer money to himself and others. She admitted to officers that she would allow her son to do this in the past, but she was upset because he did not tell her or ask permission. She has since changed the password and was advised of the eviction process.

A female states there are people at her house with guns, and she is going to kill someone. The caller is yelling at someone else and saying, “Hurry up” but is not answering questions. An additional caller, a passerby, advised there was a male seen running on Turney Road with a large black pistol in his hand. He ran up to the side of a white house on the corner near a gas station. He then ran up to two other males standing at the side door. A caller stated, “We’re all in the house,” but keeps yelling at someone to get inside and stated that they were waiting for them to come in the house. The Garfield Heights Police responded. People just pulled off in a red SUV, and others are hiding behind bushes. The original male was last seen running east towards Sunoco. Another male possibly ran in the same direction. Officers are out with those involved.

In her wallet was her ID card and a piece of paper with her Social Security number written on it. The female called the suspect multiple times and could not reach her. The female believed that the other female might be using her Social Security number to file a claim for unemployment.

The complainant was advised to have her daughter call the county to obtain a civil protection order. She was also advised that in order to pursue criminal charges, her daughter would need to come to the police department.

The caller stated that she ordered a $75 sweatshirt from an online store. The caller received a notice that her sweatshirt was delivered to her house, but she could not physically find the package. The caller stated her sister stole it, even though she could not provide any evidence of how her sister stole her package. The caller’s sister arrived on scene and stated she did not steal the package. The caller was advised no further police action is needed at this time.

A caller states he got into a domestic violence situation with his girlfriend a few minutes ago. It’s over now, and she is in the apartment with their baby. The male caller went outside to the back parking lot. No ambulance is needed. It did get physical. He said the female attacked him by punching the male in the face and injuring his arm.  Officers spoke to both parties about the altercation. They are having relationship issues and the male has been staying away to try to keep the peace. The female alleged that she tried to have a civil conversation and discovered that he destroyed her iPad. It escalated to physical pushing back and forth until the male left the apartment and called police. Neither party wanted to pursue charges against the other half, but the female wanted to gather some belongings and go stay with her father. The male half claimed he injured his arm in the struggle but declined a squad. Both parties were given advice on child custody and sent on their way.

Officers spoke to a male in the lobby regarding damage to his vehicle. He recorded a group of juvenile kids sitting around his car. A teenager is seen walking up to the front of his vehicle and kicking the front bumper. Officers checked the vehicle with the complainant but were unable to locate any damage from the footage. He had several other small dents that he claims were caused by the same group of juveniles, but he had no footage of it. He does not know the juveniles, where they live, or any of the juveniles’ parents. Officers documented the small dents and advised him to call the police department if this behavior continues so they can attempt to identify the suspects. He was provided the report number for insurance purposes.

The caller advised she just got home and her neighbor who is “a menace to society” began threatening her and yelling vulgar terms. Officers spoke to the caller who stated that she has been having problems with her neighbor and got into a verbal argument with her. The caller stated that she is upset because the neighbor has also vandalized her property in the past by putting dirt on her chair or pepper on her doorstep. The caller advised she just installed a security system and was advised to keep it running in case the neighbor attempts to vandalize her property in the future. Also, she was advised to stay away from her neighbor and to call us if there are any further disputes.

On July 9, at approximately 0200 hours, a white work van is seen on security video crashing through the gate on the north side of the property. The van then proceeds to run over a construction barrier fence and then through the gate on the south side of the property near Forbes Road. There are no suspects at this time. Photos were taken of the damage, and the complainant was given the report number for insurance purposes. The suspected vehicle was located on First Avenue. A male there admitted to driving the van last night and striking the fence. The right headlight trim was missing from the van, and it was located at the scene of the crash. Insurance information was provided to the complainant.

A small child ran her bike into the caller’s vehicle, and then the child ran into one of the units. He would like to make sure the child is OK and file a report for the damage. The complainant stated the listed female ran her bicycle into the left front corner of his vehicle. The juvenile female was located and stated she did hit the vehicle with her bicycle. She had bruising to her knee from the collision. The mother was contacted and advised of the damage. The complainant was advised of his civil options.

The caller said his brother is trying to kill the caller with a knife. The brother is a 16-year-old male. He is in the house (alone) and the caller is outside. Both parents are at work. The caller does not know why his brother is acting this way. The caller is 14 years old. Officers responded for a possible domestic between brothers. One brother stated his older brother pulled a knife on him during an argument. A friend that was on scene and saw everything stated that no knives were pulled and that it was just an argument between brothers. The boys’ mother arrived on scene and stated that he is off his medication and makes stuff up when he is. The mother stated she would take care of the issue of the boys arguing. No further police action needed.

Officers drove by potential suspects’ homes and did not see him or anyone matching that description. The store would like to pursue trespassing and theft. Officer are knocking at a male’s residence.

The caller’s ex-husband took her vehicle which also had her purse in it. She has a protection order against him, and he also has a warrant. The female stated she texted the male today about the vehicle, and the male responded that he was carjacked and the vehicle is now stolen. The caller was advised to have the male contact the police department in the city where he was carjacked and file a report. She was also advised it is known to the police department that the male has driven her vehicle previously with her permission. The caller will return to the police department in 48 hours if the male still has not returned the vehicle.

The caller reported that a male choked her from behind. He is waiting on a ride to leave. They live together, and he’s been drinking. There are two kids in the house. Officers spoke with both parties involved. They are boyfriend and girlfriend going through relationship issues. The complainant said when the male arrived home tonight he was irritated. She claims that he came up to her and choked her. The male stated the female did the same thing to him. Both parties claimed they were both unprovoked. Both parties had minor scratches that were consistent with what each other was saying. Officers were unable to determine the primary physical aggressor. The male half gathered some belongings and left for the night.
