A female states that she received a text stating that her payment of $500 to Norton Antivirus software would be processed. The female contacted the number to advise them she did not purchase the software. The female gave the unknown person remote access to her computer so they could remove the software and refund her the $500. She was then asked to log into her bank account, which she did and did see a deposit go into her account for $1500. The female was then asked to purchase Best Buy gift cards with the money. The female realized that she was being scammed and contacted her bank. The female was advised to follow up with her bank, change her passwords and to take her computer to be wiped.

The caller/manager says that at about 0915 hours a male, who’s known to have been hitting several other Circle K stores, stole a carton of cigarettes while the cashier was ringing him out. The offense is captured on store security cameras. The male attempted to purchase a carton of Newport cigarettes valued at $83.50 using a card. The sales clerk pushed the carton of cigarettes toward the male as if the sale was approved. The male then took the cigarettes and proceeded to leave the store. Another sales clerk noticed that the transaction was declined. The original sales clerk called out to the male when he was near the exit doors but the male did not respond. When the sales clerk got to the exit doors, the male was driving off in a white Jeep. The store manager is awaiting word from the regional manager as to whether they wish to pursue charges if the male can even be identified. The store manager did call later wanting to pursue charges. She was told that the male who was involved with the incident at their store today is not the same male as involved with thefts at other Circle K stores. She was told that if the male should return to the store, to call the police department so that they can attempt to identify the male.

On 8/25/21, a female came into the police department lobby wanting to sign charges for domestic violence for an earlier incident. The female said she did not mention pursuing charges when the incident occurred because she was not in the right headspace. The female said on 8/20/21 she was trying to get belongings from her house. While doing so, the complainant said her ex-boyfriend pushed her out of the house and down three steps. Next, the complainant said her ex took her to the ground and put her in a headlock. The complainant was asked if she had any injuries from the incident, and she said her left arm had bruises and right hip was swollen and tender. Photos are attached with a written statement. The complainant’s ex-boyfriend was notified of the current situation and to come into the police lobby if he wishes to complete a written statement. The male said he would come in on 8/26/21. The male party returned and completed a witness statement regarding the incident. The male advised on 08/24/2021 he was struck by the female in the back of the head. The male’s head was photographed and his completed witness statement was collected. All information was forwarded to the prosecutor for a ruling.

The caller’s son’s bike was stolen about 10 minutes ago from this location. The victim’s phone is with the bike, so she is tracking it. It is currently showing near the Mazda dealer. An officer is assisting the female near the McDonald’s on Northfield near Maple Heights. Bedford is asking for a Maple Heights officer to be in the area. An officer states the suspect is under the Interstate 480 bridge. The officer requested dispatch to contact the female to get a better location. The female states the phone is now pinging in the area of Express Inn in Warrensville Heights. The officer responded to that location, but was unable to locate the complainant’s property. When the officer responded back to the station to speak with the complainant, she said the phone was still pinging in the Warrensville Heights location. She was to contact the Warrensville Heights police department in an attempt to retrieve her items.

It looks like a car ran through the caller’s yard, damaged the air conditioner, shrubs and a window. It happened sometime between 1400 hours and the time of the call. Officers checked the neighbors’ vehicles and none showed damage that directly relates.

A male complainant is reporting that person(s) unknown took a bicycle from his garage. The complainant stated the bicycle is gloss black, having dual headlights, long chrome forks, custom skull lug nuts on the front tire, custom Maltese cross lug nuts on the rear tire and an unknown serial number. After speaking to the complainant, the bicycle was to be sold to another male. The complainant also scrapped a catalytic converter for the male as part of the deal for payment. Due to the varying stories, it is unknown if the bike was stolen or just retrieved by the other male.

A male is kicking the female caller’s car windows. He is walking in front of her car and preventing her from getting out of her parking spot. The male has a bottle in his hand, and the caller says he is chasing her car. Now the male is on top of her car. The male has now taken off running in an unknown direction of travel. The male had left prior to police arrival. The officer advised the female about her options. She will call back if the male should return.

The caller stated his girlfriend became angered after losing her cell phone. She then exited the house and began throwing trash and other items on and around the driveway area of the residence. She then began pouring gasoline on the driveway and rear of the home. When the complainant called police, the female ran into the woods behind the property. The female was later located crying in the woods. Officers were able to walk the female out of the woods and requested a squad to check on her. The female was transported.

She says that a group of kids who she’d ordered out of her yard earlier yesterday did it, and she’s tried speaking to their mother but had gotten no resolution. Juice was sprayed on the side of the house by the children. The mother was advised, and the complainant will attempt to clean it up.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who was alert. Officers observed drugs and paraphernalia in plain sight. The items were collected and logged into evidence.

On 08/23/21, between 1800 and 2030 hours, unknown person(s) stole the victim’s cell phone while he was on the rear patio. The phone is valued at $400. After stealing the phone, the suspect was able to access the phone and gain access to the victim’s PayPal account. Using the account, the suspect then proceeded to make $2300 worth of fraudulent charges.

The complainant said she recently went on papillonpuppieshome.com to purchase a dog. She said she paid $800 for the dog and $200 for shipping. Shortly after, the complainant received a call from a “courier” who said the dog cannot be shipped in a regular crate and she needed to send an extra $1,000 for the dog to be shipped in a crate with air conditioning. The complainant said this is when she realized this was a scam. She contacted the website regarding the matter but they could not help her. The complainant has already contacted the Ohio Attorney General. She was provided a report number.

The caller is now home. The male should still be on the bridge. Officers are out with the male on the bridge. The male advised that he was tired and was en route to a gas station in Maple Heights. An officer will be transporting the male to the Circle K at Northfield Road and Libby Road.

The complainant said he and his wife recently realized his $4,365 ring was missing from their home. He said on 8/19/21 his grandson’s ex-girlfriend came over to pick up her children from inside the home. He said he left his ring in his bedroom and went to the bathroom. Soon after, the complainant came out of the bathroom and saw both his ring and the female were gone. The complainant said he and his wife searched the home since last week and have not found the ring. The female denied taking the ring when asked by the grandson. An officer also spoke with the grandson who believes the ex-girlfriend did not take it, but it may have been misplaced by the complainant. The complainant and his wife checked pawn shops around the area but could not locate the ring.

The caller will email the serial number when she can locate it.

An employee is stating that an 18-year-old male is loading up his pockets in the store. He is now walking up Columbus Street. Officers observed the male matching the description walking away from the store. The male immediately put his hands up and was detained. The male stated he returned all the items he thought about stealing and left the store. The male was searched and no stolen items could be found. Officers spoke to the employee who showed officers video footage of the male putting items into his pockets before walking off screen and removing them from his person and walking out. The employee just wants the male to be advised of trespassing and not to return. The male was advised.

She was also advised to contact the toll company to dispute the charges. The complainant completed a lost/stolen license plate addendum. The plate was entered into leads.

The caller was attacked by her friend. The caller was braiding her hair and she assaulted her. The friend now has a hold of her hair and wont let her go. The caller believes that the friend is under the influence of something. Upon arrival, officers separated the parties and detained the female subject due to her appearing to be intoxicated and aggressive. Both parties advised that they were in the basement getting their hair done. When the complainant was styling the female’s hair, the female accused the complainant of cutting her hair which it appeared she did not. At this time the two engaged in a physical altercation. The female subject was escorted off the property and released to her sister. During the altercation, she had put a hole in the wall and did not pay for the services for which she was there. The female subject was advised, due to the damage she caused, that she could be charged with criminal damage. She was also advised not to return to the property or she could be charged with trespassing. Photos of damage were taken as well as a witness statement from the complainant. The complainant contacted the police department to pursue charges for assault.

The male in the lobby reported missing $200 after leaving Walgreens. The male stated he went to Walgreens with three separate envelopes, each containing $100. The male made a purchase, then went to look at magazines. Before leaving, he provided change to a male from one of the envelopes and then left the store. An officer looked at surveillance video from Walgreens. The complainant can be seen on camera but there is no view of him leaving the envelopes in the store. The male does go out of view of the camera for a period of time. An officer spoke with employees and searched the area where the complainant was shopping. The envelopes have not been found.

The manager wants to speak to an officer but does not want to press charges at this time. He just needs his keys back. The manager is planning on firing the employee. The employee threatened the complainant when confronted about the theft and also threatened to damage the property after hours. The complainant does not wish to pursue charges at this time and just wants the key to the store back.

He was advised his statement would be documented.

The caller is a manager and needs to file reports in reference to two employees stealing. They aren’t there at this time. The Family Dollar regional asset protection manager stated that he wished to have information forwarded to the Bedford Detective Bureau regarding a recent breaking and entering that is currently being investigated. He stated that a current employee and a former employee took part in the theft of Luvs diapers ($20.00) on 8/11/21 at 1708 hours. The complainant stated that the clerk only charged the former employee for a bag of chips and not the diapers. The regional asset protection manager feels these two parties have information or took part in the breaking and entering that is under investigation. He feels detectives could use the details of this petty theft as a way to gain more information regarding the breaking and entering. He was advised that the two subjects’ information would be forwarded to the bureau.

Four kids, approximately young teens, two males and two females, broke into the garage and are still inside. The kids just left the house headed toward W. Grace Street. They have a small dog with them that they had before they entered the home. One of the males is wearing red shorts. Officers located a back garage door to the residence that was unlocked. The house was searched but there was no one inside. There is evidence that younger children have been hanging out inside the residence. Officers spoke to the residents nearby who were having a family gathering. Two juveniles stated that they did walk their dog earlier near the house but did not go inside. The parents stated they will talk to their children further about the complaint. The back door was not able to be secured.

Glendale and was involved in a domestic dispute. The complainant was advised that the police were aware of the incident.

While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle following a female who was yelling. She was walking on Broadway Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who stated that her friend was walking home from the bar and she was trying to get her in the vehicle so she could take her home. Officers spoke with the female walking, and she stated that she did not want a ride from her friend or the officers. The female continued to walk, and the driver stated she will follow her home to make sure she arrives home safely.

The complainant let the ex-girlfriend inside his residence to charge her phone, and upon leaving, she then kicked in his glass door, however it did not break. As officers arrived the female and the female’s husband were outside in the driveway in their vehicle. The female stated that she arrived at the complainant’s home to confront an individual who used to live there. Upon speaking with the female, it was discovered she was heavily intoxicated. Officers spoke with the husband who stated that the wife had attacked him on the way over to the listed address. Officers observed several bite marks on the husband, and advised him to speak with the Lyndhurst Police Department in regards to the domestic. The husband denied any medical attention, and advised he did not want to pursue any criminal charges. The complaint advised he does not want any charges at this time, but doesn’t want the two parties to return to his property. Both the husband and wife were advised of trespassing.

During that time frame, a catalytic converter was removed from a van on the property. The van was there for service. The suspect vehicle left the property at 0359 hours. The same vehicle returns to the property between 0407 and 0410 hours and picks an object up from near the vehicles. The approximate cost to replace the converter was $500.

Officers responded for a report of a male that had shot himself in the leg while cleaning his firearm. The male’s wife directed officers to an upstairs room where the male was sitting on a couch. The male had a gunshot wound to his left shin area with a puddle of blood on the wood floor beneath it. The male’s leg was not actively bleeding. The male appeared slightly frustrated with the incident but did not show any other emotions. An officer collected the unloaded firearm which was sitting in its case with three loaded magazines. The fire department arrived at this time and began treating the male. They carried the male to their squad and transported him to Marymount Hospital. Photographs were taken of the room after they left. There was a hole in the floor from the bullet that lined up with the leg wound, and a fired bullet was located on the floor nearby. The spent shell casing was located within a blanket on the couch. The bullet and casing were collected and placed into evidence. The male’s wife advised officers that he had no known health issues, had no known suicidal tendencies, and is an avid outdoorsman who owns multiple guns. The wife was sleeping at the time of the incident. She does believe it to be accidental. The male’s wife was shocked the incident occurred but otherwise appeared to be OK. The firearm was placed into evidence.

Officers spoke with the complainant in the lobby who states that she created a Spectrum account and began receiving suspicious phone calls. After creating the account, a Specturm representative called her advising her that her son named Michael had tried to open a phone account in her name. The complainant advised that she doesn’t have a son named Michael and was told that this would be forwarded to Spectrum’s fraud department. A couple of days later, the complainant received a package from FedEx and signed for it. Not opening the package, the complainant called Spectrum advising them that she received this package, and using the tracking number, the item was determined to be an iPhone 13 Pro. While speaking with Spectrum on her cell phone, the complainant states she received a call on her house phone from a male stating he was a Spectrum representative calling concerning a package that was delivered to her. Spectrum confirmed to the complainant that the caller was not from Spectrum. Later that day, the complainant states that a white van with no rear windows continued to drive past and stop in front of her home. The complainant believes this male was looking for the delivered package. The complainant requested that this all be documented at this time and stated that Spectrum’s fraud department will be investigating. She was advised to call the department if she notices any other vehicles or people on her property that she doesn’t know.

In an attempt to get free from the grasp, the stepfather headbutted him. The stepson said, however, that his mom and the stepfather were arguing about something when he pushed his body forward against the stepfather’s seat. The stepfather then punched him in the face. All parties were intoxicated, and no one wished to pursue charges at this time. The stepfather did provide a written statement for documentation purposes.

The caller stated a couple was arguing in the front parking lot next to her. During the argument, the male party opened the car door of his vehicle and it struck the front driver side of the vehicle; resulting in a dent/scratch. The female said she knows who the neighbor is but does not know his name. Both parties then left the scene.

The caller was in the house when two males entered her house with masks. She advised they ran when they saw her. She thinks she left her door unlocked. The parties pulled off in a black Jeep, right out of the parking lot.

The female complainant states that she went to her ex-husband’s residence to retrieve her daughters’ dog. The complainant had been texting her ex-husband and informed him she would be coming to his residence. The female entered the residence while her son was retrieving the dog’s toys. The ex-husband came out of his bedroom at this time and became angered at the complainant for being in the house. The female alleges that the ex-husband pushed her out of the house in anger. The male denies touching his ex-wife but did state a verbal altercation took place. The son, who resides with his father, confirmed his version of events. After speaking with the complainant further, she only wanted the incident documented. The female was highly upset as she believed their relationship to be on better terms, advising the two still have an intimate relationship. Both parties were advised of how to obtain a civil protection order and of domestic violence laws after being divorced.

The caller advised her ex-boyfriend is making threats to come to her house and cause harm. He has put sugar in her gas tank and slashed her car tires in the past. It is unknown if he is actually on his way over now. Officers spoke to the caller who stated her ex-boyfriend just recently started making threats to shoot up her house and cause damage to her vehicle. She has not seen or spoke to her ex in about two months. The caller was given options to prevent further contact from him. She wanted it documented just in case he does cause damage to her property.

The caller wants to speak to an officer in reference to someone killing his and his neighbor’s grass and plants. The male is upset because the landscape company sprayed weeds along the fence line and killed a portion of his lawn. The male was told that this is a civil matter and was advised of his options.

The caller is deployed and observed via Ring camera at the rear of the home that her neighbor drove a fully laden heavy truck through her backyard property to access another neighboring property. This damaged the rear portion of her yard. Officers spoke with the neighbor who had the truck. He stated he is having a shed built in his backyard and spoke with his neighbors about using their yard to gain access to his backyard. However, he did not speak with the complainant prior to starting construction. Officers observed tire marks in the complainant’s yard and a small area where grass was damaged by the truck. The male stated he will contact the complainant and make repairs to the yard if needed.

A father is having issues with his 37-year-old son threatening him. He said the male is on medications, and he would like the male checked out by a squad. Officers spoke to the caller who was having a dispute over his son respecting him. EMS checked the condition of the son who seemed to be in good health and advised the caller to call back if anything changes and to keep the peace.

Officers responded to the residence for a report of suspicion due to a male attempting to gain entry into the building and appearing intoxicated. Officers located the male matching the description given by the caller. The male was argumentative with officers, and after speaking with the male, he made entry into the building using a key that he had on his person. The male then continued into his apartment and appeared to check OK. The complainant was advised to contact the police department if the issue continues. At this time, no further police action is required.

A male in a yellow/white striped outfit, like he got out of jail, is on the premises. He’s on the back porch is asking for a glass of water and seems winded. Officers stated the male was just released from jail and will be walking to his destination. He checks OK unless he becomes disorderly.

Near the Dolphin Family Restaurant, the caller says a male wearing a yellow striped jail uniform is walking through backyards and is asking the caller for clothing. He walked a few houses down and disappeared, then reappeared with a bag or package that he didn’t have previously. Officers were unable to the locate the male upon arrival.

The caller is reporting her intoxicated son is outside in the courtyard breaking things. She does not want him there. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant who stated she no longer wants her son staying with her. Officers advised the complainant that the male had established residency, and she was advised of the eviction process. The male was EWW out of multiple agencies, and he was placed under arrest and transported to Geauga County.

The male’s mother on the scene believes her son is having a psychiatric breakdown, but requested that officers check the home. Officers checked the home which checked OK. The mother will be conveying the male to Marymount Hospital for a mental evaluation.

The complainant stated that a female, approximately 35 years old, came to her home a few days ago complaining that she lives in a homeless shelter, is pregnant and is hungry. The complainant gave the woman money and the woman left. The woman returned again wanting more money, but the complainant did not give her any money and told her not to return to the property. The complainant was told to call the department the next time the female comes to her property.

An officer responded to the residence for a report of suspicion. The caller believes an unknown person(s) may have made entry into the residence and removed property. The officer made contact with the complainant who advised she left the residence around 0845 hours on 10/01/21, and at approximately 0930 hours she returned and found her mattress to be removed from the home. The complainant advised she is evicting her boyfriend from the home and believes that he may have taken it during her absence from the home. The complainant also advised that she does not believe anyone made forcible entry into the home and does not notice anything else missing. The complainant advised she just wanted the incident documented due to believing that the male she is evicting is responsible for taking the mattress. The complainant was advised of the eviction process and advised, due to the male not being evicted from the residence until 10/11/21, that it was a civil matter. The male did admit to removing the mattress from the home earlier on 10/01/21. At this time, no further police action is required.

Officers responded to the residence for a report of an unwanted guest. Officers made contact with the male subject who advised he is in the process of getting evicted on 10/11/21 and was attempting to gather his property. Officers made contact with the complainant who advised the male was attempting to move a couch that she was sitting on, and while doing so, a verbal-only altercation ensued due the male smoking inside the residence. The male advised that he would either leave for the evening or go into the basement to rest in order to keep the peace. The complainant was advised of the eviction process and to contact the police department if the issues continue.

Officers responded to the parking lot of the apartment building due to suspicion regarding a parked vehicle that was occupied. Officers made contact with the male occupant who was asleep inside the vehicle. The male was found to be EWW with the Cleveland Police Department for intimidation. The male advised he was present at the listed location due to falling asleep after dropping off his daughter. The Cleveland Police Department confirmed the warrant and requested officers to transport the male to the Bedford Jail for holding until they could send officers to transport.
