The stepfather version of the story was that he was sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle, and his stepson was sitting directly behind him. The stepson was upset that they left the bar they were at and began arguing with the stepfather. At some point, the stepson put the stepfather in a sleeper hold from behind. In an attempt to get free from the grasp, the stepfather headbutted him. The stepson said, however, that his mom and the stepfather were arguing about something when he pushed his body forward against the stepfather’s seat. The stepfather then punched him in the face. All parties were intoxicated, and no one wished to pursue charges at this time. The stepfather did provide a written statement for documentation purposes.
