The caller is in the police department lobby to report her ex is harassing her. The caller stated her ex-boyfriend called her cell phone 53 times last night and she does not want him to contact her further in any manner. Later, an officer called and left a voicemail message on her ex-boyfriend’s phone advising him of the complaint and not to contact the complainant. He was told, if he does, she can pursue charges for telephone harassment.

Broadway Avenue (Bedford Downtown Beverage)
Officers spoke with the complainant in the lobby who states that at approximately 1800 hours on 4/12/23, while exiting her work place, two unknown males who were possibly intoxicated and loitering outside of “Bedford Downtown Beverage” made unwanted advances on her. The complainant states while walking to her car, one male grabbed her by her hand and held it tightly not allowing her to leave. Both males made several sexually inappropriate comments and also comments pertaining to taking the complainant home, keeping her there, and making her like it. The complainant was able to describe the males. The complainant states the male eventually let go of her hand, and she was able to get back to her car, but not without several more unwelcome comments directed towards her.

The complainant said boys were by the picture window, and then they went over to the side door. One touched the handle. One was also trying to get in. Officers met with the boys. Two were 14 years old and one was 15 years old. The perimeter of the house was checked, and all windows and doors were secure. The side door has old damage with tape blocking a pane of glass in the interior door. The owner needs to be advised to fix the damage as the boys appeared to be up to no good. The three juveniles did not run when confronted by police, and they had no property with them.

The caller states his car was vandalized and would like to file a report. The complainant advised sometime in the late hours on 04/14/23 and early hours of 04/15/23 an unknown person(s) vandalized his vehicle. He is unsure who could have done the damage due to him not having any conflicts with anyone. The unknown person(s) took a $50 bill and Versace sunglasses valued at approximately $230. They also caused interior damage.

An officer spoke with a female complainant in the pd lobby regarding her daughter and her receiving harassing text messages from whom they believe is a female 10th-grade student at Bedford High School. The female advised on 04/15/23 at approximately 430 hours she began receiving text messages from a phone number. The complainant advised her daughter believes these messages to be coming from a 10th grade female student at BHS due to her daughter being friends with this female’s boyfriend. The female complainant was advised to contact the police department if the issues continue. The female complainant did advise she feels threatened and would like to pursue criminal charges. All information will be forwarded to the School Resource Officer and BHS to attempt to identify the sender of the harassing text messages.

There is a vacant house with an old car in the driveway. A young male in his 20’s has been walking around the car and house. The house sits back off the road. The male is currently in the white vehicle. A second unit has been requested since the male is not cooperative. The male is refusing to identify himself. Officers attempted to locate the owner of the property and left a message for him.

The caller says an elderly male with a beard, wearing jeans and a tie-dyed shirt, is going up and down driveways and trying to open garage doors. The caller says he looks confused. When asked what he was doing, he replied his friend lives on High Street somewhere, but never directly answered why he’s trying to open garage doors. Officers made contact with the male who was confused about where his friend’s house on High Street was. The male explained he had had surgery on his head and suffers from memory loss at times. The male was able to provide all of his correct personal information and checked OK. The male did decline to be seen by EMS. Officers checked the neighborhood with the male and located the male’s friend’s residence. Officers spoke to a female resident who confirmed the male resides there.

Caller advised a black Ford SUV is driving down by railroad tracks off by the road. The caller does not think cars are supposed to be there.  An officer spoke to the driver, and she advised herself and her children were utilizing the space for a science project. They were on their way.

The complainant said a neighbor is on her porch and is refusing to leave. Everyone is just screaming at each other. The caller and her neighbor, who is also her cousin, were involved in a verbal argument in the front yard. Both the caller and neighbor were intoxicated and were advised of disorderly conduct and to stay inside for the night to keep the peace.

The male stated there are kids at the high school that don’t like his daughter and he believes they caused the damage. The complainant will speak with the school on 4/17/23. Information is on file.

Th caller states she is receiving threatening messages from a female that her daughter got into an altercation with at school. The female has cut the caller’s tires before and now the female is making threats to come and burn the caller’s house down. The caller does not have information on the female to give to dispatch at this time. The daughter is unsure of who the juvenile is but advised they go to Bedford schools together. The daughter was advised to contact the SRO to obtain the information on the possible suspect for further police action.

A neighbor threatened to kill the caller’s son about 2-3 minutes ago. The older female walked up to him and said, “thief, thief, thief I’m going to kill you.” Officers spoke with both parties involved and they had conflicting stories. A statement form was left with the complainant to complete. The other elderly female involved was advised not to speak with the juvenile any longer.

The complainant states his ex-girlfriend keyed his car and ripped the windshield wipers off.  He does not want to pursue charges, he just wants the incident documented. He also stated his new girlfriend was attacked by the ex-girlfriend in the parking lot. She will come in at a later date to ask about charges. The complainant in the lobby wishes to pursue charges for damage to his vehicle. Photos were taken and the complainant was given statement forms to complete.

A woman concealed $142.37 worth of miscellaneous merchandise in her purse. The woman passed all points of sale with the merchandise and was detained by security in the parking lot. The woman was issued a summons for theft and given a court date.

A female came to the police lobby to report a woman attacked her last night. The complainant stated that around 2200 hours, she was leaving the listed address and was confronted by a known female who asked her, “What are you doing here?” to which the female replied, “You know what I’m doing here.” The female stated that while she was walking on the sidewalk to her vehicle, the other woman grabbed her by her coat and they fell to the ground into a bush. The female then got on top of the other woman, who then started crying and apologized for what she did. The female suffered a bruise to her left knee from falling as well as minor shoulder pain. Other than the initial grabbing of the coat, the altercation did not become more physical, and both parties went their separate ways. The female advised she wishes to pursue charges against the other woman for assault. A written statement was completed and forwarded to the prosecutor for a ruling.

The caller is in the middle of a case through the courts and now people are threatening to come to the home. The caller won’t specify what the threats are, or who it is that is threatening them. The complainant stated vehicles have been driving by slowly and sitting across the street from her residence. She feels this is related to an incident she and her daughter were arrested for that occurred at her mother’s residence in Cleveland. She is asking for additional patrols in the area. She stated that no direct threats had been made to her but have been made to her mother in Cleveland, and she feels that they may be able to obtain her information to get to her family.

The caller’s nephew punched the caller in the jaw twice. They have had issues in the past. He is walking toward Applegate. The caller advised the nephew attempted to steal her bicycle, and when she confronted him about the theft, he punched her in the face two times. There were no visible marks of an assault on the caller, and she did not want to pursue the matter further. The female was taken into custody for a warrant and was transported to Solon Jail.

One male is sitting at the picnic table on her deck. Officers advised the males of soliciting. The males were talking with the homeowner about security systems.

A service manager reports sometime between 3/24/23 and today, person(s) unknown stole a 2020 Kia Forte from the parking lot. The vehicle was there to have an anti-theft device installed on it. The service manager states there are no cameras in the area of the lot where the vehicle was parked, and it is unknown when the vehicle was taken. The dealership advised the owner of the vehicle of the theft. The dealership is in possession of both sets of keys for the vehicle. The vehicle does not have any plates on it. The addendum was signed by the service manager and the vehicle was entered into leads as stolen.

The male said he forgot his phone in his friend’s apartment and did not have a key. When officers were on the scene, they observed the pins from the main entrance door were removed. The male advised that it was like that prior to his arrival. The male was sent on his way.

A female in the lobby stated she returned a rental vehicle to Ganley around 1630 hours today. At around 1730 hours, when she arrived home, she realized that she forgot her black Taurus 9mm firearm in the center console of the rental vehicle. She contacted Ganley and advised them of such information. Ganley told her that within that one-hour span, the vehicle was rented out to another individual. Ganley advised her that they contacted the current renter of the vehicle who stated that the vehicle will be returned on 4/18/23. The complainant called the police to report that her firearm was returned, and she did not want to file a stolen report.

The caller is a property manager reporting damage to two cars on the property. One has the column stripped, and the other has been there for a month and hasn’t moved. The vehicles are parked on either end of the garage. Neither vehicle is entered as stolen and both are secure. The caller was advised of their ability to tow the vehicle.

An officer spoke with the male complainant in the pd lobby regarding his son assaulting him at the listed residence. The male explained that his son struck him in the face on 04/29/23 due to his son believing that the complainant stole $10 from his pants. The male complainant then explained that when he woke up on 04/30/23, he heard his son speaking with family members and his girlfriend on the telephone talking about “kicking his fathers ass.” The male complainant did not have any visible injuries to his face/head but did explain that he was fearful of his son. The male completed a witness statement regarding the incidents and advised he does wish to pursue criminal charges if possible. The officer did photograph the male complainant. Later in the day, the son came to the police department lobby to speak with an officer regarding the incident. The son advised that last night his father was highly intoxicated, and a verbal altercation ensued regarding the complainant allegedly stealing money from the son. The son then advised the complainant grabbed his neck and that is when he fled the residence due to not wanting to engage in a physical altercation. The son also advised that he believes the complainant is trying to get him arrested due to the complainant not wanting to move out of the residence. The son also stated that he never assaulted the complainant and that he did not have any injuries. At this time, a witness statement was collected from the son. The son did advise that he did not wish to pursue any criminal charges against the complainant. The complainant did advise that he would be staying at a local hotel to keep the peace, and that he did remove his essential property from the listed residence.

Officers responded to the residence for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. The female resident contacted dispatch and advised her son’s 12-year-old male friend, who resides to the right of the listed address, advised that a person wearing all black was seen trying to enter the residence through a window. Officers located the rear door of the down unit to be open. Officers made numerous announcements into the residence and the female caller also advised no one should be present. Officers cleared the “down” residence and no parties were located. The rear door to the residence was secured.

The caller reported that her mother put her hands on her, but she was not hurt. The caller stated that they got into a disagreement and her mom told her to get out. The caller is a 17 year old. The caller is in the backyard and her mother is inside the house. Officers spoke with the mother and daughter. The mother was upset that her child was not respecting her rules. The child’s aunt came to assist in keeping the peace. The daughter was instructed to follow mom’s rules. She left with her aunt to let the situation calm down.

She contacted Social Security and they advised her that on 04/12/23, an unknown person claiming to be the complainant, changed her listed address and phone number information. The complainant advised that the person did not receive any funds. She was advised to also contact the credit agencies and was given a report number for her records.

The caller states that someone just stole his red Boss dump truck. The keys were left in the truck. It was last seen two minutes ago leaving out of the driveway. It was found abandoned on West Grace at Hutchinson Field. It is unknown who took the vehicle. Nothing was missing from inside. The caller was advised to keep his vehicle locked in the future.

An officer spoke with the female complainant regarding attempted fraud. The female stated she is currently selling a kitchen table on Craigslist for $500 and was contacted by a male out of state. The male then explained he would mail a cashier check to the female for $2,250 which would cover the purchasing of the table and moving expenses. The male further explained that he would have a “moving company” come to the residence to pick up the table. The female then explained that she took the check to her bank but the bank advised it was fraudulent. At this time, the female is fearful due to the male knowing where she lives. The female advised she did not suffer any financial loss. The officer attempted to contact the male, but no contact was made, and a message was left to contact the police.

The office manager stated that sometime after 1815 hours on 5/3/23, person(s) unknown pried open the exterior mail boxes at the business and took an unknown amount of mail. Photos were taken of the damage. She was also advised to contact the U.S. Postal Inspector regarding the incident.

Sometime between 05/03/23 at 1800 hours and 05/04/23 at 0700 hours, unknown person(s) damaged the complainant’s car. They placed a metal screw in the front passenger side tire, put cigar/cigarette ashes on the trunk and sprayed expanding foam in one of the taillights. The vehicle was parked outside in the apartment parking lot. The caller said he could not think of anyone who would do this to his vehicle, and none of his neighbors observed anything either.

Sometime overnight person(s) unknown damaged two vehicles in the parking lot by breaking a window on both vehicles and peeling the columns on both vehicles in an attempt to steal them. The owner of the business is unsure if there are cameras in the back section of the parking lot where the vehicles were parked. She will contact the police if anything of value is found on security video.

Officers responded to a report of two vehicles damaged overnight. Upon arrival, employees directed officers towards the vehicles on the front line of the lot. They both had broken windows, and the bottom of the dash pulled apart. On surveillance video at approximately 2005 hours on 05/05/23, two males broke the rear passenger window out of a 2018 Dodge Charger, and fail to start the car. Next the males broke the passenger side window out of a 2017 Dodge Challenger, and failed to start the vehicle. The two males then fled the lot back to a black vehicle where the driver was waiting. Both observed males wore dark hoodies and masks to cover their faces, with gloved hands. The complaint would like the incident documented for the time being.

Officers spoke with three juveniles who stated that while at the pool area, two adult males and one adult female threw beer cans at them and threatened to cut them with a knife. According to the juveniles, the adults were driving an older white Chevy.  Officers did not observe a vehicle matching the description in the area. The juveniles state they have seen the vehicle before smoking, drinking, and skateboarding near the pool and skate park on Ellenwood. The juveniles were advised this would be documented.

The caller said his adult step-daughter is at the house causing issues. He does not want her there. The caller sounds intoxicated and so does his wife in the background. He claims she threatened to shoot him. He knows she has a gun, but it’s not on her. The male was advised of the eviction process, and both were advised to keep the peace.

Upon arrival, officers located multiple family members outside of the listed address arguing. The caller stated one female was intoxicated and trying to fight family members, and at some point, a physical altercation occurred. The female had a conflicting story on what occurred regarding the physical altercation. No parties wished to pursue charges against each other. The homeowner was advised on how to start the eviction process, and the female was advised on her disorderly conduct.

The caller just got home from work and his door is kicked in. He believes it was his wife. He went into the home and noticed that all of her stuff was missing. The two are still married, and the complainant stated that he changed the lock. He was told that she still had a right to the home to retrieve property and that this is a civil matter. The complainant was given advice regarding filing for divorce and getting custody of his children.

On 5-10-23, an altercation occurred at Family Dollar in Bedford between two female students from Bedford High School. Officers responded and spoke with one female and she stated an unknown female threw a gift card rack in her face. A short time later, one of the female students responded to the Bedford High stadium with another female and her adult aunt. The three walked into the stadium and approached and began to fight the other student from before. The fight was broken up and those involved left the scene. They are to be charged with disorderly conduct in Juvenile Court.

An officer spoke to the caller who advised her child’s father constantly breaks their parenting agreement. The parenting agreement states the caller will meet and pick up her child at 1600 hours. The caller advised the child’s father texted her at the last minute stating he was taking the daughter to the school for a school dance instead of abiding to the parenting plan. The caller went up to the school to pick up her daughter around 1630 hours without an escort as advised earlier by the police department. At the school, the caller spoke to the principal about getting her daughter to leave. The caller spoke to her daughter who was fine with leaving the dance. At the school, the child’s father and step-mother were on the scene and both parties started pulling the daughter to get her to go with the separate parents. Security and the principal advised some pushing occurred between the parents. The daughter stayed at the school while the caller/mom came up to the police department to file a report. The caller was advised to follow up with Family Court over the parenting plan violations and was provided a report number for reference.

An officer spoke with the complainant who advised her ex-girlfriend is harassing her. The complainant was on the phone with the ex who asked where she was at because she has “some hot lead coming for her.” The complainant advised she does not want charges at this time but would like the ex advised to stop contacting her. While in the lobby, the ex called the complainant and an officer spoke with the ex and advised her to stop contacting the complainant.

The caller stated her niece left her two kids, ages 7 and 3 years old, with her and she doesn’t babysit.  She is leaving and the kids will still be there. The caller was advised of her options on dealing with the children and the process of evicting her niece

An officer responded to the business for a report of damage to property. The male business owner advised a customer was attempting to pump gas into his vehicle when the listed vehicle caught on fire. The male driver then used a fire extinguisher at the gas pump to extinguish the fire inside the vehicle. While doing so, the male driver did break a glass box containing the fire extinguisher. The male driver then left the area prior to officers’ arrival with an unidentified female. At this time, it is unknown who the male driver is. The officer attempted to contact the male registered owner of the vehicle but all attempts were unsuccessful.

Officers responded to the residence for a report of an unwanted guest and damage to property. The female resident, the complainant, advised a male was intoxicated last night and threw a chair through the rear window doors causing damage. The female advised due to previous history, she is fearful that the incident could escalate. The male left prior to officers arrival, and officers were unable to locate the male. At this time, the female advised nothing physical occurred and she admitted that the male does reside there. The female was advised of the eviction process and of how to obtain a civil protection order. The male contacted the police department, and he was advised on how to request an escort to keep the peace if needed to remove property. The male was not cooperative on the phone and advised he did not wish for any police assistance.

The caller advised she is at her mother’s house attempting to pick up her child, but her mother is not allowing her to do so. The child is 3 months old. The caller does have custody. Officers spoke to the mother and daughter on scene. The mother stated she was concerned over her daughter’s drinking so that is why she wanted to watch the grandchild instead of having her daughter watch the child. Both agreed they would work out the situation on taking care of the child for the day.

Two younger males exited the car and went to the car wash and climbed in an open window off the side and entered the building. The officer advised two males were detained. The officer located the two juveniles inside the equipment room. Both juveniles were hiding in a small bathroom. Nothing appears to be damaged. Both juveniles were released on the scene at the parents’ request.

Officers responded to the business for a report of an unwanted guest. Officers met with the employee, who advised he asked the male to leave numerous times but he refused and was now sleeping on the bench inside the business. Officers made contact with the male who was advised of trespassing and sent on his way.

Officers spoke to the complainant, who stated that a random male knocked on her door looking for some male and she was concerned for her safety. The male was still on scene, and he stated that his aunt sent him over there to get some of her belongings. Both parties had conflicting stories, so officers went to an address where the aunt was and spoke to her. The aunt stated that her nephew was at the wrong address, and it was all just a misunderstanding.

An aunt was on the scene and refusing to leave. She was starting a fight with the family.  She was intoxicated. She was yelling, and she was inquiring about some “drill’ that she accused they had of hers. She was told to leave and was advised of trespass. The caller was advised to call back if she returns.
