In a bittersweet announcement, The Bedford Tribune shared that Mark Sellards, the dedicated editor who has been at the helm since June 2018, has decided to step down from his role. Mark, who has doggedly led the newspaper for nearly six years, officially left his position on January 28, 2024. While the community will miss his leadership, we understand that sometimes life’s busy paths mean making hard choices.

Mark has been a familiar face around town, known for his commitment to keeping the residents of Bedford, Ohio, informed and engaged about the goings on. One of his notable contributions was the introduction of the police blotter section, which quickly became a reader favorite for its coverage of local happenings. Despite his love for journalism and the community, Mark expressed that the demands of his personal life have led him to this tough decision. “While I have thoroughly enjoyed bringing the news and the police blotter to the residents of Bedford, I find that I must step back to focus on my personal life,” Mark shared. His decision was made with a heavy heart, but he looks forward to seeing the newspaper continue to thrive. We are not only thankful for Mark’s hard work and dedication but also excited for what the future holds under new leadership.
