June 7th
– Birth of Prince (1958): The legendary, multi-instrumentalist singer and songwriter Prince was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota
– Vatican City Sovereignty (1929): Vatican City officially became an independent sovereign state following the ratification of the Lateran Treaty by Italy’s government
– Legalization of Contraception (1965): In Griswold v. Connecticut, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a law banning the use of contraceptives, guaranteeing a constitutional right to privacy.
