As you make your way around Bedford this spring, you may happen see one of the 27 different houses given the designation “Bedford Beauties” for 2019. Each house that was selected by the Bedford Garden Club is given a sign to place in the front yard honoring the work the residents have done to go “above and beyond” in making their front yards appealing.
This is the 9th year for the event, and the first year that businesses have been chosen. The two picked this year were Data-Basics and Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, both on Broadway Avenue
There were also 26 residences in town that received “Looking Good” Tenders designations. These are home or businesses that were judged to have many of the elements the garden club is looking for in a Bedford Beauty. In order for a home or business to be eligible to participate, they had to have been nominated, either by a peer, or they could have nominated themselves. If you missed it this year, keep your eyes out for the opportunity next year!
