In the work session, we discussed:

  • The website – We will likely be going with a company called ProudCity. The company will be coming in to answer some final questions about compatibility before the final decision is made.
  • Vacant property laws – We are getting closer to a final version. We need to better address what constitutes a vacant property and under what conditions the property can be waived from the vacant property list.
  • Zoning Appeals board appointment

In the regular meeting, we voted on:

  • Allowing rain barrels (2nd reading)
  • Requesting taxes collected by the County (passed0
  • Updating Law Enforcement Trust Fund policy so that it conforms with Ohio Revised Code (passed)
  • allowing for additional money for sludge removal at the waste water treatment plant (passed0
  • allowing money to be spent to repair the sinkhole near Union and Northfield (passed)
  • making changes to the ordinaces to allow for small cell structures, so that we are in compliance with Ohio Revised Code (passed)
  • allowing for additional appropriations needed by the Police Department (passed)
  • Declaring 129 Greencroft a nuisance (passed)
  • Condemn the property located at 188 Greencroft(passed)
  • Award the street improvement project to Ronyak Paving. The following streets will be improved during the project: (passed)
    • Eldred (Southwick to Grand)
    • Gould (Southwick to Grand)
    • Wandle (Southwick to Grand)
    • Mitchell
    • Wheelock
    • Powers
    • Lee South
    • Cemetery Roads
    • Seal cracks on Columbus and Rockside
  • Purchasing a computer program that would allow the City to better manage the water and sewage systems (1st reading)
  • Changing the parking fines (as we have been discussing for the past few work sessions. The new parking fines will be $25 if it is paid within 72 hours after which the fine goes up to $50. If the parking ticket continues unpaid and ends up in court, additional fines of up to $150 and court costs can be applied. (1st reading)
  • A plan submitted by Chris’s Restaurant so that the property can add an addition for a new cooler. (approved)
