The City of Bedford’s Liberty Days celebration continues on Saturday, July 11, with the America Celebration on the Square, a full day of entertainment, activities, music, food vendors, and community organizations at Bedford Commons.
The celebration begins at 11 a.m. with a Flag Raising Ceremony conducted by the VFW, followed by the National Anthem performed by the Bedford Alumni Band. Food vendors will be available throughout the day, and the Bedford Rotary Foundation will host a beer truck, with proceeds supporting academic scholarships for Bedford High School students.
Activities are scheduled throughout the day, including music and interactive games from Terry Macklin Entertainment, free carnival games hosted by the Bedford Senior Club and Bedford Parks & Recreation, a balloon twister, Carvings by Chris, an America 250 mural artist, a Living Statue of Liberty, an airbrush artist, and free Euclid Beach Rocket Car rides.
Community organizations participating in the celebration include the Bedford Garden Club, Bedford Rotary Club, Bedford Historical Society, Bedford Lions Club, Bedford Downtown Alliance, Bedford Branch Library, Bedford Education Association Teachers’ Union, Bedford City Schools Foundation, and Girl Scouts Troop 70667. The Bedford Historical Society Museum will be open for guided tours throughout the day, where visitors can view the American Flag Exhibit. The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities will also have its Sensory Truck on site.
Live entertainment continues into the evening with The Avenue performing beginning at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Moonlight Serenaders at 8 p.m. The day’s festivities conclude with closing remarks and a finale at 9:40 p.m.
The America Celebration on the Square is the second day of Bedford’s three-day Liberty Days celebration, part of the city’s participation in America 250, commemorating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. The event offers a full day of live entertainment, family activities, community organizations, museum tours, food vendors, and patriotic programming as Bedford celebrates this historic milestone.
