University Hospitals Bedford Community Wellness Center is helping local families prepare for the holiday season with two free food distribution events in November. Both events are designed to provide additional support to community members as Thanksgiving approaches.
November 10: Free Food Distribution
On Tuesday, November 10, the Bedford Wellness Center will distribute food bags provided by Giant Eagle. Registered participants can pick up their bags during either of two scheduled time periods:
- Morning: 9 a.m. to noon
- Evening: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Food bags will be available for pickup at the Bedford Wellness Center, Suite 150, located at 88 Center Road in Bedford.
Advance registration is required. Residents can register by scanning the QR code on the event flyer. Anyone needing assistance with registration can call 440-735-4270.
November 17: Free Thanksgiving Turkey Drive
The following week, on Tuesday, November 17, University Hospitals Bedford Community Wellness Center will host a free Thanksgiving Turkey Drive from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The organization plans to distribute 300 turkeys, available while supplies last, at 50 Blaine Avenue in Bedford, the former University Hospitals emergency room and outpatient center location.
The event is free and open to the community, with a limit of one turkey per household. Participants must present some form of identification, such as a state ID, work or student ID, insurance card, vehicle registration or utility bill.
The distribution will operate primarily as a drive-through event, allowing participants to remain in their vehicles. Those without transportation are also welcome to walk up.

These two events offer opportunities for Bedford-area residents to receive food assistance during a season centered on gratitude, generosity and community.
Residents are encouraged to register in advance for the November 10 distribution and plan ahead for the November 17 turkey giveaway, as supplies are limited.
