Bedford residents now have another way to give and receive support within the community with the addition of a new Free Little Pantry at the Ellenwood Center.
Located outside the center’s main entrance, the pantry is available around the clock, offering convenient access 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the year. Built on the simple idea of neighbors helping neighbors, the pantry encourages visitors to “Take what you need. Leave what you can.”
Community members are invited to donate non-perishable, unexpired food items, unopened hygiene products, as well as pet food and pet supplies. These donations will help ensure the pantry remains stocked for anyone who may need a helping hand.
The initiative reflects Bedford Parks & Recreation’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents beyond recreation programs by providing a practical resource that is accessible to the entire community at any time of day.
The department also recognized one staff member whose dedication helped bring the project to life. A special thank you was extended to Administrative Assistant Mary, who took the lead on the project and helped turn the idea into a reality.
Whether you’re looking to lend a hand with a donation or need assistance yourself, the new Free Little Pantry is now open and ready to serve the Bedford community.
