The safety and security of your family is everyone’s primary concern, but if the things that we take for granted like clean water, electricity, natural gas for your home heating, or the internet were suddenly taken away due to a severe snowstorm, torrential rainstorm, tornado, civil unrest, or supply chain interruption… what then? Do you want to put your fate and that of your family in the hands of strangers or government agencies, or would you prefer to rely on your self-reliance and preparedness for the situation you are facing? This short workshop will provide you with the knowledge and outline of what you need to know to deal with most any emergency you and your family may face. Learn how to get pure drinking water besides simply boiling it. Learn what foods to stock up on and how to store them. Discover ways to keep warm in your house if your main heat source is suddenly shut off. Remember, when you face an emergency in the future, the difference between a CATASTROPHE and just a SITUATION YOU CAN EASILY DEAL WITH is YOUR degree of preparedness. How prepared are you? How complete is your plan? Reserve your seat at this workshop NOW! MUST REGISTER

A family vacation turns into a nightmare for Michael Hart when he discovers his wife and two children have disappeared from their New York City hotel room. Horrified, he fears they’ve been kidnapped. Michael’s frantic search to find them takes a shocking turn when he discovers that his wife, Natalie, appears to have left quite willingly, taking their children with her. The police want to know why, and so does Michael. But there may be a reason why Natalie ran, something Michael can’t tell the police — the truth about his past. While untangling his deceptions might be the key to locating Natalie, Michael knows it could also be his undoing. To find his wife, he must now turn to the one person capable of exposing all that he’s been hiding. Natalie thinks she has Michael all figured out and has hatched a plan to escape from him permanently. One detail, though, threatens to derail her efforts: sleep — or more accurately, the lack of it. Since the moment the shocking revelations about her husband came to light, Natalie’s insomnia has worsened to the point that she now suffers from delusions. Are her fears about Michael valid — or a symptom of her condition? With her children’s lives at risk, the stakes for Natalie could not be higher. On her own, running low on energy and resources, avoiding increasingly close calls with Michael — who is on the hunt and closing in fast –Natalie needs someone to turn to for help. But who can she trust when she can’t even trust herself?

May Title: Summer on the Bluffs: A Novel / Sunny Hostin; with Veronica Chambers. Join us for the discussion of this GREAT SUMMER READ. A novel about summer on historic Oak Bluffs/Martha’s Vineyard exclusive vacation spot to the rich and famous. Welcome to Oak Bluffs, the most exclusive Black beach community in the country. Known for its gingerbread Victorian-style houses and modern architectural marvels, this picturesque town hugging the sea is a mecca for the crème de la crème of Black society — Black people have lived in this pretty slip of the Vineyard since the 1600s and began buying property in the 1800s, making this posh town the embodiment of “old money.” Thirty years ago, Amelia Vaux Tanner and her husband built a house high on the bluffs, a cottage they named Chateau Laveau. For decades, “Ama” played host to American presidents, Wall Street titans, and cultural icons. But her favorite guests have always been her three “goddaughters:” Esperanza “Perry” Soto, a beautiful, talented Afro-Latina lawyer with Ama’s strong, yet guarded personality; Olivia Jones, a gifted Wall Street analyst with Ama’s brilliant, logical mind; and Billie Hayden, a gifted marine biologist and rule-breaker with Ama’s courageous free spirit. Growing up, these three goddaughters from different backgrounds came together each summer at Chateau Laveau. As adults, the cottage is a place this trio of successful yet very different women go to escape, to slow down from their hectic lives, share private time with Ama, and enjoy the gorgeous weather, cool water, and stunning views Oak Bluffs offers. This book comes in many formats. Regular print, Large print, Book on CD, eBook and eAudio.
